I have been tutoring with Back to Basics for several months now. The people have been amazing to work with and are very organized. Their 1 to 1 format allows me to do what I do best-teach kids and make a difference in helping them to recoup lost skills due to the impact of Covid 19 epidemic. I would highly recommend Back to Basics for your child as they work very closely with schools in the Delaware area in bridging that achievement gap and only hire the best of the best.Sincerely,Mr WBack to Basics Reading tutor

My son Braeden had Leslie Medice for math tutoring this summer and I could of been more happy. She was very engaging and helpful. I was worried my son would dread going to tutoring over the summer but Leslie made him enjoy it so much that he would ask when was his next weekly meeting. She also took time to help him in his troubled areas and was very encouraging. They shared laughter and build a quick bond that made the session a breeze. I would highly recommend Leslie and would love to use her again.

The short time that I have worked for Back to the Basic has been a great experience, tutoring students. Just seeing the students faces as they exceed to higher math levels, brought joy to me. This program was a great idea based on our current educational status during this pandemic.

Not all schools did a good job with virtual classes when Covid hit but Back to Basics and Augustine Hills School are Excellent at virtual teaching. My son started at Back to Basics for summer school after a less then positive outcome at his old high school. Once the class started I noticed that he was actually looking forward to school. We enrolled him in Augustine Hills School for high school. Since Covid was still a big issue in the world and he did so well in the summer school program. He started with virtual classes. As vaccinations became available he was able to attend school in person. He looked forward to seeing his teachers everyday and did very well.Since the school has a one teacher to one student ratio his teachers tailored the classes for his strengths. He graduated from Augustine Hill School this past June.Communication with teachers and the high school were easy.We are thrilled that we found Augustine Hills School !

Working as a tutor for Back to Basics Learning Dynamics has been a fantastic experience. They are a company that genuinely cares for each student and employee. They go out of their way to ensure each student’s needs are being met and that each tutor has all the resources they need to succeed. One of my favorite aspects of working here is cultivating excitement for learning in an environment where each student can interact with the material and feel comfortable asking questions. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing students as they begin to grasp previously complex concepts and increase in their confidence. Back to Basics is also unique in their ability to seamlessly adapt to changes in society by providing students with the option of virtual educational support. I cannot overemphasize my high regard for this company and all they are doing for their students.

My son was tutored virtually by Meggan this summer. He has a developmental and speech delay. On day two of tutoring, he had a breakdown with Meggan and refused to cooperate. Previously I gave her my cell # and informed her she could reach out to me if she had any trouble with my son. We all know our children and I already knew that mine has a tendency to shutdown. He has different triggers. So fast forward to day two and he is refusing to work. Meggan shot me a text. I went to him and got him to get his little attitude together. While I did so, Meggan reaffirmed what I was telling him and let him know, she there for him. After that, he got the picture and began to do his work. Over the next several weeks, Meggan kept working with him, encouraging him and praising him when he did well. By the end of their time together he was noticibly more confident in his ability to speak and decifer information. The phenomenal school system he goes to, coupled with the tutoring he received from Meggan, helped to close the gap of the loss of progress that can happen over the summer. I could not be more pleased. Meggan was kind, patient and compassionate with my son. Back to Basics Learning Dynamics is a prime example of the success students can achieve by working with tutors who care.

After 32 years of teaching secondary English full time, I retired--and almost immediately missed the classroom. Tutoring and teaching at Back to Basics and Augustine Hills has been the perfect fit for me, and I imagine that it would be for other teachers looking for a change or for additional income. Back to Basics lets me be in charge of how much I work, how many students I see, and for which subjects I see them.Like me, the tutors at Back to Basics and the teachers at Augustine Hills are all highly qualified and bring vast experiences to our assignments, ensuring that we can help put each student on their path to success.

My son prepped for the SAT and felt comfortable going into the test. He was able to achieve the score he wanted the first time which was great because the test had been canceled many times due to COVID, and he is a senior. His tutors were patient and worked with his schedule. They switched around when a test date was canceled. I feel that they did not try to sell us what he did not need. His verbal tutor predicted that he would score in the 700s and said he did not need any more prep. (He got a 770). I would recommend them to my friends and education clients.

In third grade, we were told that our son might not meet the Delaware State Testing Program (DSTP) minimum score for writing and this could impact his being promote to fourth grade. In response, we brought him to Back to Basics for tutoring. His tutor was a kind woman who turned things around! Starting in fourth grade, his teachers told us about how well he wrote and this has continued ever since. Not only did this tutoring improve Nathans writing skills, it boosted his confidence in a subject where he really struggled. His SAT writing score (old SAT) was 700 and we credit this tutor from long ago as well as the SAT/ACT tutoring he had last summer. Thanks Back To Basics, for making such a big impact on my sons writing success.
