I have two children who have attended City Ballet for the past 4 years. The attention to detail in class and care for each individual is amazing. The quality performances are always a joy to watch. As an audience member, I am always in awe of the hard work and professionalism put into each performance. My son and daughters experiences with City Ballet will give them memories for a life time. Mr. and Mrs. Hills talents shine through the music (Mr.Hill conducts the orchestra), choreography, and skill that has been passed to their students. Wilmington has been blessed with a ballet studio that cares about their students and is passionate about the art of ballet.

As a dance educator myself, I am always impressed with the quality of work that comes from the dancers of City Ballet of Wilmington. My daughter wanted more ballet in her training, and we were lucky to be welcomed into the City Ballet family. Andrea Hill and her staff maintain a high standard of excellence in their program in the execution and artistry of technique, as well as the etiquette and expectations of dancers in class and performance. I am grateful for their contributions to my daughters growth and success as she forges her path in the dance world.

When we moved to town seven years ago, my daughter was in the beginning stages of ballet having only been in ballet for two years (starting at the age of 5). We asked our dance instructor from home if she had any recommendations and she recommended City Ballet. Our daughter was accepted into a beginner class (red 2). As her father and I are both former ballet dancers, excellent classical ballet training for our daughter was a must. The staff and teachers at City Ballet have been wonderful over the years advancing our daughter farther than her father and I could have ever imagined at her age. Since beginning at City Ballet, our daughter has been accepted into professional ballet summer intensives and continues to train toward her goal of becoming a professional ballerina. While not all of the dancers have as lofty a goal as our daughter, City Ballet provides the best ballet technique training in the area for casual and pre-professional dancers alike. Ballet training at City Ballet offers so much more than skilled dance training, it also offers the dancer discipline, coordination, improved posture, a wonderful sense of confidence, mental strength and focus, music appreciation, as well as a community of dancers who truly love and support one another. I highly recommend City Ballet for the dancer in your life!

We joined the City Ballet studio in 2012 after searching for professional, classical ballet training for our daughters. The instruction is top-tier, and the culture is kind, wholesome, and welcoming. Mrs. Hill insures the instruction is superior, and she instills priorities of safety, self-confidence, positive body image, and proper nutrition, which is very important to our family. This is hands-down the best studio in the area for classical ballet training for serious dancers.

We travel 2 hours round trip 3 days a week so that our daughter (who lives and breathes ballet) can train in a classical environment. When we made the decision to do this as a family, we got more than we bargained for. The Hill family is a blessing to these children and young adults and not only form beautiful ballerinas but also confident poised individuals. The students at City Ballet are always encouraging one another and I’ve never encountered a spirit of jealousy or discontent. We will continue to make this trip to City Ballet until we can relocate to the Wilmington area!

Most prestigious ballet school around, this school focuses on the beauty and art of ballet. Without the distractions of learning multiple dance styles at once, students can focus on the ballet basics until their skills and strengths develop thus producing poised and graceful professionals.

Our daughter has been at City Ballet for 6 years. Their program is comprehensive and tailored to each students personal growth. They have a positive atmosphere with professional teachers and mentors. We can’t speak highly enough of Mrs Hill, the teachers and the program.

We absolutely love City Ballet! Our daughter is going into her third year at the studio and looks forward to every class! Cannot recommend them enough for your budding ballerina!
