Finishing up our second year at WCA! Individualized education, responsive teachers and staff. Great leadership from Headmaster Johnny Graham. When COVID hit, he was ready with an adaptive, conditions-based plan that ensured our kids continued to learn through 2020. After 15 years of military moves, this school made us feel welcome and confident our kids would achieve a great education. Best part of all, our 15-year-old & 17-year-old are happy going to school, very engaged with teachers and peers and succeeding.

WCA is an excellent school!!! 🤩 My child has excelled in his academics and truly Loves school now. The classrooms are half the size of a public school and there is also a teacher assistant in his class. All the staff, and teachers I’ve had contact with are always respectful, and expedite with answers to my questions. All my interactions with teachers and staff are met with sheer kindness. I can say the same experiences from my 10 year old sons, perspective. The safety procedures included with the Covid-19 are excellent and followed as they should be. I feel so blessed that I am able to have my son attend Williamsburg Christian Academy.

I am beyond pleased with our experience at WCA. The teachers genuinely care about my kids (all the kids) and the smaller classrooms allow them to be truly known as individuals. The new direction the school is going academically is so exciting too, with the International Baccalaureate... It wont be long before theres a wait list to get in here... Glad my seats are secured!

It’s unfortunate that a single staff member can cause such an issue. My son has been going here for years. This year there’s a different method of arrival for students. One of the staff members receiving children was downright rude when I asked a simple question about the new procedures. It escalated to the point I felt the principle should be involved. After speaking with him several times; I’ve asked for a simple apology from the staff member. At this point she is unwilling to do so. I do not understand her attitude and am concerned about potential retaliation that she may take toward my son. I will be researching other private schools.

As 1st year parents with a Kindergartener, weve had an amazing experience here. We love the small class size, activities for the kids, and caring staff. Even though COVID-19 threatened to derail our school year, WCA has worked tirelessly on remote learning lesson plans and keeping their students actively engaged and still learning. My daughters teacher has created daily videos and weekly Zoom calls with her class to ensure that the students are still on track. She has made herself available to parents to help kids one on one online as needed and continues to make learning fun for them even while at home. The staff has poured their heart into what they do and ensure that all their families feel loved and appreciated during this time. We have been really happy with our experience so far, especially with how well they have adapted to these changing times.

My son came to WCA after Christmas and even though we did not know where the funds would come from we knew this is where God wanted my son. He found wonderful friends, amazing teachers and was included into sports even though he came late in the season. To my son athletics is one of his passions so this was a plus for him. I just wanted to say thank you so much for being a wonderful Christian learning environment for my child. Teachers have been wonderful and he has certainly thrived. I love that prayer is in his school and Gods will come first here. During the whole COVID-19 crisis as I watched other parents and students in various other public and private school struggle with knowing what was going on and how their child was going to continue the remainder of the school year. They had lack of instructions and student are not even being given grades with total lack of assignments. Here at WCA we never skipped a beat. My son never missed a day of school and each day he has detailed instructions and constants contact with every teacher. My child has every assignment graded and has continued to learn and thrive. We have been well informed the whole time and are so thankful that we were at WCA when this pandemic hit. Even though he would much rather be at school in person with friends and having a live teacher in front of you can not be replaced by a computer WCA has made this as easy as I could have possibly have imagined. Thank you and God Bless, Nancy Lindsey

Our kids have had a great time, are killing standardized tests, and Ive never seen a hint of favoritism for staff members kids, lack of books or any bullying that I felt went unaddressed or addressed improperly. So not sure where that is coming from. Everyone Ive talked to at the school is quite happy, and the families of the 50 some odd new students that poured into the school this year feel very much the same. Incredible environment for student growth, and the academic seem to be more advanced than most based on my discussions with private and public school parents (especially public).

WCA is the best Christian school in the area. If you are looking for a school with solid Christian values as well as outstanding sports, foreign languages, AP courses, clubs, mission trips, beautiful facility, and endless opportunities, this is a wonderful fit for your family. I am so very thankful for the staff at this school. They know every single kids name, even to which class theyre in. The staff - all of them- personally help walk the kids to the door from the car line. My sons kindergarten teacher designs fun Fridays where everything - including the lunch they make together- starts with a letter. So, for T day, they did ties, tiaras, tutus, wore tye-dye (that she helped them make!) and they made tacos for lunch and ate together. They get an HOUR of recess, plus PE, plus outdoor classroom time, and every other excuse they can get to get the kids moving and engaged. They are learning to read and write things that they are interested about. This isnt Death By Worksheet: its hands on learning that is geared towards kids specific interests.

If your child had behavioral issues then this is your school . If your child has any learning disabilities then this school is a good fit as other private schools do not take children with learning disabilities. The lack of books and bullying was a huge issue for us . Very happy we left the school and but only went to elementary there but she are much happier now. We just felt like the education dropped so we just left. . The combine grades mean your children are going to behind on a lower academic level as other private schools. The main concern for that school is athletics and it unfortunately shows in the lack of academics and any resources for that area. . We did not agree with the extreme liberal views of this school.

Very positive environment that encourages children to behave positively and perform well academically. Small classrooms with attentive teachers and many opportunities for children to develop into leaders. They need a full time nurse given their tuition, but aside from this, all of the administrators, staff, and teachers seem to demonstrate legitimate kindness and concern for the children--even while appropriately disciplining bad behavior/poor choices. They also seem to purposefully demonstrate they value kids with disabilities and families of all races. A couple of the other Christian schools we considered had teachers and environments that seemed very racially exclusive. I have had no issues with politics being forced down my kids throat (neither conservative or liberal political affiliations are touted)--just universal Christian values, like kindness and honesty, as well as work ethic, and academic excellence. They have sports, drama, and other programs for children/youth. Overall, this is a really great school and should have more enrollment considering the comparative quality of the school with other local private options.

WCA is a Christ centered school that trains students to be successful in post high school education. Teacher to student ratio is very low, so each child can get individual attention needed to be successful. WCA offers multi-sports throughout the school year. Its great to see young and older students learning about and sharing Gods love in every facet of their life. High school students mentor and pray with elementary students. The international student population is growing and welcomed. One thing I see every time I visit the school is love.

My son is in 10th grade and on his 3rd year at Williamsburg Christian Academy. He is active in athletics and is also enrolled in AP and Honors classes this year. We have been very pleased overall with the dedication of administration and teachers. I can honestly say that WCAs course load is much more difficult and challenging than that of the public schools in the area. I feel the individual attention and guidance my child receives is giving him a true college prep experience and a great foundation for life after high school.

The Staff, Administrators, and Teachers at Williamsburg Christian Academy (WCA) have guided students and parents in a stellar manner during the COVID-19 pandemic. School leadership was quick to respond to parents questions and concerns when the Governor closed the schools and their ability to turn around an outline and agenda for the students during this time has been constructive to maintaining a sense of community and familiarity to my children. We have two children in the lower school and their daily assignments have been adapted appropriately to their level of understanding and also clear to us as the parents so we can assist our children in implementing the subject matter at hand. While there were roadblocks for us as parents to assist our children, such as learning about Zoom and Google Docs, the teachers have been patient and understanding. My children also love and adore having weekly virtual praise and worship and virtual meetings with their teachers and classmates. Additionally we can set up a time for our child to FaceTime with their teacher so they can have a one-on-one to go over a project or just check in. WCA has done an outstanding role in ensuring my children know they are cared for and thought of during this time.OLDER review - still pertinent: Both my children love attending WCA. Each child received the attention and care they need during the day and both talk about how much they love the staff and the activities. The class sizes are small and the teachers have been working with us to help our children succeed or be challenged more.We moved to the area from an overseas assignment and our children attended a local British school and needed help adapting to the American school environment. WCA has helped them every step of the way. My 1st grader comes home excited to read, something he didnt do previously, and he absolutely adores his teacher. My 3rd grader comes home singing songs and has been thrilled to be a part of the spring musical/play as well as learning basketball - he only had cricket, tennis, and rounders in the UK so basketball is a new sport to him.Having the before and after care programs has really helped us with our working schedules as well. Weve been very pleased with WCA and their willingness to work with us well before our move to the area while we were still posted overseas.

The review below is obviously from someone who has a relationship with the 2015-2016 Administration that ousted the founding Head of School causing several dissatisfied parents and teachers and administrators, to include some exceptional teachers and administrators to leave the school en masse. The Interim Admin left were terrible. Preferential treatment for children of staff was rampant. Complaints by staff were shut down and compliance was expected. My children have left the school because of the current leadership. I pray for the families remaining that the new Administration fairs better and that changes are made with the staff left. I WOULD NOT WASTE MY MONEY ON THIS SCHOOL!

The best decision we ever made was enrolling our children at WCA. It is a wonderful, loving environment that encourages each child to reach their full potential. This school prepares and motivates students in every way for college. The staff is top-notch and they truly care about each child and wants them to achieve success. From K3 all the way to 12th grade, you cannot go wrong at this institution. God is working in big ways here! Go see for yourself. As soon as you walk in these doors, you will know this school is special. We strongly recommend giving WCA a try. We promise you won’t be disappointed.

My son has been attending WCA for the past 3 years & is currently a senior. I transferred him from his previous public school because of bullying, racial intolerance, & the lack of quality in the education he was receiving. I have had nothing but a positive experience at this school & my son loves it there. The administration, teachers, & students all accepted & made my son feel welcome from the very beginning. Whenever I cross paths with one of his teachers they always speak highly of him and they motivate & push him to be better in every aspect of his life. They seem very in tune & interactive with the students, not only academically but socially. I was very shocked to hear the negative reviews, so much so that I had to ask my son if these things were actually occurring & he said no not that he sees & he really enjoys going there. Due to the fact I work so much, go to school myself, & live 45 mins away, unfortunately Im not as involved in events as I would like to be, but when I do go I dont see favoritism, I dont see an untrained staff,or a terrible administration. Its a very welcoming atmosphere. My sons GPA has DRAMATICALLY improved! He scored 60 points higher on his PSATS. He has more confidence in himself, his attitude/perception on life is more positive, and he has definitely mutured! I know this was all due to putting him in the right environment to thrive. Last year he was awarded the Principals Award for his grade! This year he is taking 3 AP courses & 2 honors courses. This was a D student in a small public school 3 years ago!! I cant speak on others experience but mines has been nothing short of 5 stars! I was late once due to having to purchase a new car around the holidays & starting a new job at the same time, they were nothing but understanding & worked with me. Im sorry that some have had a bad experience but everyones preception is different & I encourage perspective families to go visit the school yourself & talk to some of the parents. Go to some of the events & make your own opinion. On parent stated the school is big on athletics & its really not. They are building the athletic department & it has definitely grown since Ive been there but still the smallest in the area. But those boys & girls play with the biggest heart & it shows on there record! The boys basketball team won States last year under Coach Brown, they did awesome! And the V. Soccer team so far is undefeated this year under Coach Kim. Good job to all!

My 2 children have been attending WCA since Kindergarten. My oldest will now be entering 8th grade and my youngest into 6th grade. We have had a wonderful experience at WCA. The school went through a couple of rough years recently due to changes in administration, and we stuck it out. The new head of school, Dave Breslin is amazing! We are thrilled with the staffing, academic and overall improvements he has made in just one year of being at the school. I can tell you that the teachers love the kids, the school has a family atmosphere, and my kids are thriving there. I would highly recommend this school under the current administration and have no doubt that WCA will be the considered the best private Christian school in our area in the near future.
