I am writing this review as a speech pathologist that treats children at this school. This is the only place I recommend, if parents ask me for advice on where to send their kids to school. I have a caseload big enough that allows me to stay at least four hours per day, a couple of times a week at the facility. I am able to see many things that even parents can not see on a daily basis. The teachers at this place actually CARE. They are open to my suggestions and always find a way of helping my patients. The principal, Miss Ana Leisse takes great care of the staff and children. She has no fear of speaking to parents and referring the kids to services that they might need (speech, occupational therapy, etc.). I love going there because the progress we see in our plans of care is part of having a wonderful school team. The place is welcoming, clean, and very safe, especially now with the Covid 19.

We spent months looking for the right school. After many tours we decided on First steps. We were told during the enrollment that all the staff was vaccinated and masked. We brought our two kids to the first day of school expecting some assistance as new parents and new to the school. We got no assistance at all. We were then told not everyone is vaccinated. It was too late to make alternate arrangements so I left my kids there. I returned to pick them up at the end of the day and the administration had no idea were my two kids were. They had no idea where their belongings were. We had to go through every classroom looking for them. And go on a scavenger hunt to find their backpacks. This completely unacceptable. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Terrible experience.

This is by far the BEST school my children have attended. I had to take my 3 yr old out of another day care because he was having some constipation problem, and they simply did not want to deal with that or even helping through the process. Here at first steps I was greeted with such love, and I was reassured that they would be able to support my boy along with his progress. Miss Aura and Miss Valentina were hands down the most understanding and professional teachers I could have asked for, the helped my son regain his confidence, and even through he had some bad days they were there for him. In just a few months my son was completely cured from his encopresis, largely because of the love and support he received. The communication was also amazing, always letting me know what was going on. That is what an outstanding educational institution does, for that I will forever be grateful for them. In addition to this my both my kids made amazing progress in their development both intellectual and cognitive. I love that the school has lots of extras in the tuition which gives great value for everything that you get. My kids simply loved going to school, the teachers were so loving and genuine with them. All the teachers were so awesome, always concerned for the kids and had great communication. The office staff Sabrina and Sofia were also great with anything that we needed. I would recommend this school in a heart beat, your kids will be taken care of even better than if they were at home, and you will have full peace of mind. I give this school a 10/10.

My son loves going to school, for me it is amazing to watch his progress, I like the attention I receive from the staff they’re very friendly and always answer my questions. The most important thing is to realize all the things my son, at his young age, has been learning, he’s learning to read and can write a few words, that’s amazing =)

I would like to thank Miss Lily and Miss Monica from 4K and Miss Gina and Miss Silvana from 2 years class. They are the teachers of our kids and we are extremely happy. All of them are very caring and have been of great help for our transition into the new school, new city and new baby sister! Both our kids have learned a lot in these past months, but above all we love the warmth they give to the kids and how well they handle them. I would also like to highlight that the communication between teachers and parents is very good. Every day the teachers take the time to tell us a little story about our kids that day.

My daughter is in the PK-4 Class with Miss Monica and Miss Lilly. Our family is very happy with the care and education our daughter has received at First Steps. Not only is she learning to meet her educational goals for entering into elementary school but far beyond that. The children are exposed to art, music, cultures, nature, and extracurricular activities. She most recently came home talking to us about her body circulatory system and how veins supply blood back to her heart. This is coming from a very excited 4 year old! I would highly recommend this school to any parent looking for a well rounded nurturing environment for their blossoming child.

Our journey in this school started with the early twos class with Miss Silvana and Miss Gina, we had a wonderful experience since the beginning, they made us feel at home and took care of our little one like we do. Currently, My Daughter is in the PK-4 Class. I am amazed by how much she learns every day. She talks about many topics and the way she analyzes everything is incredible. She talks about different countries, about art, science. She is fully bi-lingual and above all she LOVES to go to school every day. Miss Monica and Miss Lilly are wonderful teacher but above all loving and caring people that are really a very important part of my daughters life. She adores them. I am very happy with FSIA and I recommend this pre-school without any hesitation.

I searched for six months for the right preschool for my 3 year old daughter. Prior to going to school she was at home with me and very very attached. I was concerned that the transition was going to be a difficult one but I was so pleasantly surprised at how well and quickly she adjusted. Why and how was simply because of the staff at First Steps. From the Director to the Teachers everyone spoke to my little one not at her. They made her feel welcome and she is so happy she asks to go to school on the weekends! She is so happy at this school and my husband and I couldnt be happier. I highly recommend this preschool. The atmosphere is always clean the people are friendly, well qualified individuals that truly love the children. They challenge the children on a daily basis with the wonderful curricullum and daily arts and crafts that are my daughters absolute favorite. She is always excited to tell me about what she made or help make on that day. I can not say enough great things about this school. It has now been over a year that my daughter started and we are more in love today then we were when we started. We happen to have the BEST Teachers there but all of the staff at FISA are just amazing!!! Everyone is so thoughtful its like a family if somebody isnt feeling well everyone is concerned. My Teachers go as far as making Get Well and Happy Birthday cards for all occasions. We have even pushed back a move because we are not sure we want to relocate because we love her school so much!

First let me start by saying I have never written a review. So for me to write one, my experience must have been either really bad or really good. In this case it was extremely bad. If I could give it 0 stars or even negative I would. My 2 year old attended First Steps for about a month until I no longer felt it was safe for him to be there. The first time I saw something that made me uncomfortable was when I went to pick my son up and his class was on the playground, which you can see from the parking lot. I thought I should watch my son for a few minutes to see how he was interacting with the other children, and to see how he was adjusting to his new school. Although what I saw was a little disturbing, I decided to let it go because maybe, just maybe, what I saw was misinterpreted. There was a child riding a toy car and the teacher was trying to take him out. Instead of gently lifting him out of the car, she aggressively lifted the child with the car and shook him until the car fell off his legs almost knocking another kid down. Then 2 weeks later I went for my sons classroom birthday party. Again the kids were on the playground and I was in the parking lot with my mother in law and husband. There was a child on the ground crying hysterically and red in the face as it was a fairly hot day, as the teacher and 2 assistants stood by and ignored him. As he continued to cry, the main teacher, for whatever reason, angrily lifted another kid by one arm and carried him behind a tree where I could no longer see what was happening. Immediately my mother in law and I gave each other an uncomfortable look and continued to go inside for my sons party. After we set up for the party, the children came in from the playground to enjoy cupcakes and snacks. I was told before I enrolled my son that washing hands was a priority, especially after the playground. Not only did they not wash their hands but did not even use hand sanitizer. I understand that people make mistakes and maybe they forgot on this day but after what I had already seen on the playground this was just the last straw for me. And with a teacher and 2 assistants I expect at least one of them to remember to wash their hands. When I called the principal to let her know that my son would not be attending anymore her response was can I call you back? There was no what happened? or Im sorry or is there anything I can do? After about 2 hours I get a call back from her secretary saying the principal couldnt understand what I was saying so she had her call me back. I was born and raised in Ohio so I know its not my accent that she couldnt understand. So I asked the secretary what exactly was so hard to understand about me wanting to take my son out of the school. She asked me what happened and after I explained it to her she just said ok. I never received an apology let alone a call back from the principal. I feel very uncomfortable knowing that children are being treated this way and the parents dont even know. This is why I felt I needed to write a review because at least people who will consider this school in the future will see my review. There are many other questionable things that I saw and I urge you to send your children somewhere else as there are many other schools in Weston to choose from.

I am a proud parent of two children who graduated from First Steps International Academy (FSIA), Juan Pablo and Isabella. Both of my kids started at FSIA in the toddler class and they graduated from the schools pre-school program. They enjoyed going to school every day and they felt part of a wonderful community. Both my husband and I work outside of the home and knowing that the kids were well cared for and loved was essential, especially since they spent more time with the staff at FSIA during the week than they did with us.The visual thinking routines and overall curriculum FSIA implements are phenomenal research-based strategies that truly make an impact in stimulating brain development in young kids. Both of my kids entered Kindergarten with a strong academic base, a deep-rooted love of learning, and remarkable critical thinking skills. The schools art program and global focus also helps students understand and appreciate a world beyond themselves.I was at FSIA for 6 years in total... and I wouldnt change a thing. Thanks FSIA for preparing my kids so well for school and life!

I cannot express the peace of mind it gave me knowing my sons first experience away from home at school was in the hands of Mrs. Corine and Mrs. Dora.Today my son is in the Pre-K 3 class with Mrs. Rocio and Ms Tyler as his teachers. He adores his teachers, and I can hear them speak through him. Mrs Rocios understanding of each childs individuality and strength allows her to properly tailor their educational plan. And Ms. Tylers candor and soft spoken approach to children is commendable.I could not have asked for more caring, dedicated and professional teachers for my son! I appreciate all they do for him, as well as for me.
