Never in a million I would have thought to be doing jujitsu. Professor Tony invited my children to a two week free trial, so I took him up on the offer and after one month of watching my children, I ended up on the mat. Everyone here has been more than welcoming, they have become family. The only bad thing about this experience is I cant take everyone with me to AR. Thank you professor Tony, Coach Matt and Coach Eric for being such beautiful mentors to my children, and I dont want to forget Ali who was always there to greet me with a smile and aHows it going?. You have all been such a special moment in time. Blessings to you all!!

This review is much needed as its a review to shine light on issues that surround 303 and can help them grow again and correct the reasoning behind the decline. This review isnt out of spite. For years this school was growing 2 years ago they raised tuition to $180 and theyPromised to put showers in do to raising the price never happened and membership peaked within the last 6 months many people like myself were looking to leave just needed a push in the right direction(covid!)Reasons behind the decline1.Classes taught by purple belts.@ $180 per month all classes should be taught by black belts not kids.2.One of their black belt main instructor was very arrogant.3.DramaThere is still time to Correct these problems.

303 is one of the best BJJ gyms I have ever been to. If you’re looking for a place to train where you will feel like family, and learn a ton, this is the place for you. I’m a white belt and felt that people were very helpful and patient with me as I negotiated my way into the beginning of my jiu jitsu journey. I can’t tell you enough how much I love this gym. I moved out of Colorado, and the only thing that I truly miss is training at 303. If you’re on the fence, give it a shot and it will change your life for the better.Top notch professors, coaches, and training partners. Couldn’t recommend more.

Im just visiting for work and honestly I was looking for a jiu-jitsu gym close to where Im staying and I found this gym. I didnt know what to expect from the coaches or the other trainees but I enjoyed my time yet being the first time coming to Colorado. The coaches will definitely take the time to show anyone the movements even if it is busy. The training was a little more fast pace then what Im used to but definitely was worth the time to learn moves I already knew and another move that was added on from a previous move. If I had to come back to Colorado for work again Ill definitely stop into 303 and train again. Everyone was welcoming even though I didnt know anyone in the gym but now I do and I know where to go for more rolls in the future. Thank you again for letting me train in your gym.

My son and I joined 303 Training Center two years ago and have never regretted it. From the day we walked in the door, we were welcomed warmly by the staff and other members. We have enrolled in all their programs and often find it tough to choose just one class to attend when so many great classes are offered! The instructors are very positive, educated, informative, patient, and really have a vested interest in their students learning and succeeding. There is no drama at 303; everyone is there to learn, have fun, and help each other improve.Another thing I love about 303 is their curriculum. I can go to any BJJ class and the lesson will be the same for that week, no matter which instructor is teaching. So I dont worry about missing a class I may regularly attend, because I know another class will teach that lesson as well, with the added bonus of each individual coachs personal experience!I have never before been to any gym that is so Family-oriented and friendly. Not just on the mats and in class, but outside as well. I know many, many people who also truly call 303TC their Home and Family. Theres a reason for that - its the warm, positive environment, and the pride and care of everyone there!

I stopped in to 303 for open mat while visiting from Florida. The staff was very friendly and inviting. There was a good mix of belts, sizes, as well as, both men and woman to roll with; which was impressive in the middle of the day. The gym was clean, well lit and had plenty of space. Everyone I rolled with was friendly and accommodating to the fact that I was not used to the lack of oxygen at this altitude ;) I would recommend 303 to anyone looking for a proper MMA gym to train at!

I have been involved in Martial Arts since I was 12 years old. I used to be a chief instructor at United Studios of Self Defense and ran a school in South Denver. Having that experience I am truly impressed with the instruction and business model at 303. They have a passion for the art and a human relations side that is rarely seen in this type of business. Ive never trained at a bad place, having done a little training at two other spots a little further north in the Boulder area, but 303 is by far the best. Training with Coach Matt and Professor Andre has been a blast, everyone is super chill and happy to help, and there is a real lack of that Cobra Kai wannabe feel that sometimes exist in any kind of combat sports facility. Also, they do a 6am class 5 days a week. Perfect for us old dudes. Just keep an open mind and check it out. See ya on the mat!

I go a few times a week and love that I can bring my kids with so I can attend more often. The 303 family has been such a fun crowd (both in class and in the social arena). I practice Brazilian Jiu-Jistu at 303 Training Center. The coaching and instruction is spot on. There isnt any instructors there who dont take the time to make sure your understanding whats being taught. All the students take care of their training partners making it a safe place to learn. Professor Tony is the best. He doesnt let his belt color nor the busyness of his schedule keep him from knowing everyone and rolling with everyone, all the way to the newest white belt. You will not find a better place to call yours than 303 Training Center. Its a family place and all you have to do to be in the family is be here. This place is terrible! Its really gone down hill the last few months. When I called to cancel my membership Tony literally screamed at me. He told me that I needed to bring my sons Gi and belt back before he would remove my credit card information from auto pay even though I personally paid for the Gi and belt myself. After I made it clear that I was going to contact authorities if he didnt remove my credit card info he proceed to insult me and my family by telling me that my kid was a brat and that I am a terrible parent for not keeping my son in their program since he needed it. The gym is not clean at all. It smells and feels musty. The bathrooms are dirty and are never stalked. You can see stains on the carpet and it smells. The kids area is disgusting. The toys are not up to date or clean. Since I was there the whole staff has been turned over. Both of the black belts have quit. I used to be excited to bring my son to class but now the gym moral is very negative. I did some research on this school because I wanted to train here and actually was going there for a few months. Things just felt off and I kept hearing stories from other students about some of the stuff going on here. There seems to be a lot of shady business going on at this school from what I saw. From how this place got started, to some of the people that train there and now I heard that Ryan and Tony are breaking up. They had a guy that was wearing a black belt and people were calling him professor and now he is wearing a purple belt. Am I THE ONLY PERSON THAT NOTICED THIS??? What the hell is the deal with that? And if you say that this is not true you are a liar! I have seen this with my own eyes and others have too and choose to ignore it! The owner of this school was getting sued by Professor Amal Easton when this school opened for infringement. I guess he was a coach at Easton then broke the no competition agreement he had signed and opened his school anyways. I just see a very weak foundation at this school and I wouldnt be surprised if this school just completely fell in on itself. There are some positives tho, not all is bad. Tony and Ryan actually seem to be like great guys and are very knowledgeable... Most of the students seem to be really great. Although one stands out as a complete douche bag. I wont call out any names, but he has a bald head and he looks like a caveman. Seems to be pretty disrespectful and I honestly think dude needs medication. Professor Busy, I have trained with numerous times and I will tell you that he is definitely a legitimate black belt but I think instead of using positive reinforcement he kinda makes people feel stupid when you are not getting a move right or not progressing as fast as some of the other students. I personally dont respond to this very well. Well there is my review, maybe it seems a little harsh but everything that I have said is completely accurate and all you would have to do is a little research to find out that what Im saying is the truth!

While other traditional martial arts bored him, Jiu Jitsu is different. He is engaged and focused all the time. Professor Tony has helped him become the focused, young practitioner that he his. During this time I my self have learned the value of Jiu Jitsu. My mind and body are much stronger than ever before. And I have gained a respect the the gentle art. I joined 303 Training Center 2 years ago. The first time I met Professor Tony Basile we had a one hour open mat rolling session. The following week I went to compete in my first Jiu Jitsu tournament and had no coach in my corner. Midway through my second match I heard someone shouting instruction from the sidelines. I looked back to see Tony crouched in my corner coaching me through my match. He cornered me for as many matches as he could as I made my way to gold that day. I bring this up because *this* is the quality of the man who runs that gym. I wasnt his student, he didnt know me, but he saw someone in need of a helping hand and he offered it without asking anything in return. The same welcoming, good hearted mentality flourishes throughout 303 Training Center. Attitude reflects leadership. Ive been to a number of MMA gyms, or martial arts gyms in general. Its rare to find a place where you dont feel like everyone in the room is sizing you up the minute you walk in. I dont feel like Im competing with my peers on the mat in that gym, Im being helped, encouraged, and led down an enlightening, empowering, and ultimately meaningful path and lifestyle over at 303. Theres something there for everyone at every age group and every level. From Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, to no-gi submission grappling, kickboxing, fitness and cardio classes, to a massive and amazing kids program. But at the end of the day reviews can only serve as suggestions and in martial arts, as in life you need to do whats right for you. The great thing about 303 is that they provide one free week to come down, check it out, and see if 303 *is* right for you, if the culture there *is* right for you, if the people and the coaches there *are* right for you. If youre wondering if 303 is where you want to go, please come check it out for a week and see for yourself. Im confident that 303 will not leave you disappointed. Hope to see you there. :)

My experience with 303 was one I simply wish I never had. I trained there for about 7 months in 2012. I was brand new to Jiujitsu when I started so I had no idea that 303 didnt follow the IBJJF guidelines or exactly what that meant in regard to the credibility of the stripes/ belts given out there. There was no structure to any of the classes coach Tony taught and I always felt like it was a battle field instead of learning jiujitsu. I was thrown down, tripped, and even pinned down and smothered with a cupped hand by training partners (male fighters twice my size) while grappling. Because of the so-called culture there I was made to believe that this was all part of the process. After educating myself on the common practices and IBJJF rules, I realized this was clearly not the place for me. My decision to leave 303 was only solidified when it became public knowledge that Coach Tony paid for his black belt from Gracie Barra in CA. Now that I am not a new-bee any longer it raises many questions as far as the integrity of the sport are concerned- If the head instructor travels to another state to receive his black belt from someone who has never grappled with him prior- in exchange for a lump sum payment, how real could their BJJ program be? To each his own- but IMO if you desire to learn the art of jiujitsu please educate yourself and then research your school of choice and their instructors... It can save you money and time as well as prevent you from incurring unnecessary injury. Live and learn
