My daughter seemed a little lost and needed help being able to focus in school, we signed her up for karate and within the first classes already saw huge changes In her! Her grades improved, her attitude and just her willingness to get out of the house even improved!!! Jeff took the time to really get to know her and really took initiative in getting her active!!! 10/10 would recommend this studio to anyone looking to get their kids up and out of the house!!! We started our Karate journey in April, trying to find a fit for my 11 year old daughter. Jeff and his amazing trainers are fantastic! My dad used to teach here 15 years ago. When my son turned 5 he said he wanted to be like papa and learn karate. He loves going to class and learning all the karate techniques. I started at this studio a few years ago and have loved it. As an adult I didnt start out with very much flexibility. I started karate with the intention of getting a good workout to stay in shape and, hopefully, develop a little flexibility. Along the way I have had ample opportunities to work on both. I have also benefited from developing more confidence. I get opportunities to work on moves that challenge my agility and flexibility without feeling pressured to go beyond my abilities. The staff are friendly and always help me feel welcome. There are also several fun activities.

We are so happy we chose to put our daughter in BLK. The changes we have seen in her have been amazing. From not having to ask her to brush her teeth to hearing “yes ma’am” when we ask her to do something. She has really enjoyed it as well. She does get frustrated when other kids in class won’t listen because she feels it takes from her learning. So they could maybe be a little more strict but I also understand these kids are young and are their releasing energy. Overall we have no regrets

BLK has been great with my kid! They awesome with communication with me when I need them to help focus on issues helping teach my child respect. She is behaving much better. She absolutely LOVES karate!!

I love it here. My son has been going since he was 8 or so and I started going about a two years ago. I has been great for me. Ive lost about two pant sizes and a shirt size, feel better and am slowly getting better at the karate as well. Ive grown greatly in strength as well. As an adult, its a great time for me, and I enjoy doing the work with my son. The instructors do a very good job working you hard and also teaching you the self defense skills/karate moves to do well. They have always been receptive to questions and always helpful. I would recommend to any adult looking for something to keep them active and add to their skill sets. Its very fun for me.

My son enjoys going to class and he learned a lot after going to Bobby Lawrence karate at West Jordan. The staff is very nice and the monthly challenges helps kids on track.

I have loved taking lessons as an adult at this studio. The instructors are very friendly and cater well to teens and adults as well as children. I always wanted to take lessons as a kid and finally started going ( at 30) and they have been very encouraging and I have had a great time. When my kids get a little older I would love for them to go as well.

I joined the adult program several years ago and have really enjoyed my time in the studio. There is a good variety of material which breaks things up from class to class so its not the same every night. The class schedule is also flexible which helps when life gets in the way of getting to class. To me the Black Belt Training class is where the real fun starts as that is when you get to start sparing and working with weapons. All in all it has been a great experience and allowed both myself and my daughter to get our blackbelts in 2019.

This is an update to my last review. I started training at Bobby Lawrence Karate West Jordan in 2009. I trained for about 2 1/2 to 3 years, and had a great time doing so. When my son was old enough to start we enrolled him into the school. The fantastic instructors not only helped my son break out of his shell, but have helped him with almost every aspect of his life!After my son had been at the West Jordan school for a few years, I decided that it was time for me to start back up again. Martial Arts has been a big part of my life for the last almost 26 years, and Bobby Lawrence Karate has been a big part of that. I would strongly encourage anyone both young or older who would like to try martial arts to join Bobby Lawrence Karate.Fantastic school with very knowledgeable instructors. My son comes away from class so excited about what he has learned and cant wait until his next class

Our family loves the program here. They teach great values and are fun for the kids. The cost is much more reasonable compared to other studios. They also do great activities with the kids and invite friends to come.

This is the only thing my daughter has ever stuck with. It’s been over 2 years now and it has really helped her physically, emotionally, and helped her become more motivated by and responsible at home and school.

I like how they are related to outside of this karate school. They require you to be good anywhere anytime to be promoted. Students must sign a piece of paper that they understand 4 important attitudes (courtesy, respect, discipline, focus) and parents and school teachers are also required to sign the paper if your child has those good attitudes at home and school. To be honest my 7 year old autistic son almost failed because of his bad attitude at school but we talked about it a lot and he wanted to be promoted so he tried really hard. And it worked! Im so thankful for them that they teach kids mental strength, patience and respect.

Weve been a part of the Bobby Lawrence family for over seven years, and we love the enthusiasm, philosophies, and commitment of all the staff. We found a pronounced difference between Bobby Lawrences method of teaching when comparing other studios. Karate has been a tremendous confidence-builder for my otherwise non-athletic son, as well as a fantastic solution to bullying problems he had years ago. The life skills that Bobby Lawrence Karate teaches has given him the skills to face and overcome challenges with grace and maturity.

We love BLK! I have 2 boys who go there, and they love it! They love karate, and have been going there for 1.5 years. It has helped with their confidence, manners, respect, courage, and more. One of my sons was always very quite, and his teachers always had a hard time hearing him. He became louder after starting karate, and it made a huge difference. My other son seemed to get angry a lot, and was able to deal with his anger better after starting karate. The instructors are awesome. I love how they teach about bettering yourself in life. BLK is much more than just good kicks and punches.Update: After more 4 years, we still go here and love it! They have great instructors. They teach the same qualities of how to be a good person. My son has a second degree black belt now.

My little family has been so blessed for finding Jeff and the BLK family! Our son was struggling with aggression, self control and respect for others to the point he was becoming unbearable to live with. I always heard that karate was the BEST thing for the overactive, full of energy child, and my thoughts were why would I want to teach this child more ways to hit or fight?. Boy was I wrong. Our son has been with BLK since last October and has become so respectful, calm and more able to self regulate! He has actually started looking at people and responding to their feelings and emotions! He is 100% a totally different little boy. It takes a village to raise children and I am proud to have Bobby Lawrence Karate studios as part of our village!
