I got a facial from Mandy H. She was so personable and professional. Mandy communicated what she was doing each step, and taught me about the products. She took her time to give me a thorough skin assessment and used the products that were right for my skin type. I am 59 years old, I have discoloration and dry skin I when I walked out my face felt smooth and hydrated and glowy . I highly recommend Aveda and Mandy Harlan.

I loved the students that I was assigned to! I had a great time, however, the facility could use some major upgrades! Building small rooms where there is more privacy than curtains that dont close all the way and relaxing music played loudly over blown speakers is not very relaxing at all. The students were great, for as much as Aveda charges and their image, I would expect better facilities for services to be performed. 5 stars on service 2 stars for facility.

Never getting my hair cut anywhere else! Everyone was so kind and talented and the prices are unbeatable. I had Madison as my stylist and she did just a good job and really made sure I was getting exactly the cut I wanted. 10/10 recommend.

I got only a hair cut no coloring, no straightening, no blow drying, just a simple shampoo and trim of 2inches and it took 2.5 hours. Lady that did my hair did pretty good job just didn’t expect to waste half my day there. So it’s great if you don’t have plans for after appointment.

Very covid conscious first of all. Maria cut my hair and she was awesome! I got somewhat of a complicated cut but she did an amazing job and the instructor was very kind and helpful as well! Overall it was an excellent experience. It takes longer than a salon haircut, but youll end up getting the same quality at a much better price. Highly recommended!!

Unfortunately my experience was not the best!! Usually I go to Lee’s salon but this time decided to give it a try and do my eyebrows and lip with “ professional students “. Left with half of my eyebrow and lots of wax...😢😢😢Teacher was nice enough to try to fix it but recommended to get a eyebrow pencil and waived the fees.. I felt bad for the student but now I have to grow out my eyebrow... Would not recommend this place and would not go there again...

I had not had a haircut since around June of this year and just recently got a haircut at Aveda Institute at the Vancouver Campus and my hair dresser was Jessica R. She was the most outstanding hair dresser I have ever gone to in my life, there was only one other hair dresser that comes close, but she was truly the best! She cut and styled my hair exactly the way I wanted it and made sure that it was the haircut I was looking for and that she actually understood what it was that I was looking for. She didnt even see all of my examples, I only gave her one example, but she hit every example.;) I had waited to get lairs for years and I am so glad that Jessica was the first one to give me lairs, she is extremely talented and knowledgeable!For the first time in my life a hair dresser actually helped me and gave me ideas on how to deal with my curly hair! Jessica listened to every detail of what I was looking for and hit all of those goals and then to top it, she gave me tips on how I could reach those goals on my own at home! Most hair dressers have only attempted to help me by trying to get me to buy products but how Jessica helped me, I would gladly buy products and gladly trust her with my hair again. =DIt was also so amazing how for the first time in my life, a hair dresser was actually able to reach my goal of naturally curly, smooth, non-frizzy, with so much volume hair (volume is a new goal for me, I hadnt asked for this before, but again, Jessica nailed it!). Every hair dresser I have told that I wanted naturally curly hair that is smooth with no frizz has told me something to the effect of if not actually told me, wow, those are some pretty impossible goals you have. Well, I am so glad to announce Jessica made it possible! By the way, so do other YouTube girls, so it is possible as Jessica and YouTube girls show us. She was so knowledgeable it was so refreshing. =) I think it is just sad when I know how to handle my hair better than my hair dresser. Over all Jessica was amazing! =DIf you are wondering why I gave a four star rating, it is absolutely by no means because Jessica was below five stars. Let me just say this clearly,Jessica R is definitely, absolutely 5 (five) stars! =D *****The only reason I gave a star less than five is due to my experience with the lady over the phone that scheduled my appointment. My difficulty with the lady over the phone was she was her rudeness and the fact that she asked me and confirmed if I was getting a haircut and after I confirmed that, yes I was, I went to the Salon only to find out that I was not scheduled for a haircut and had to wait another hour before I could have a haircut. Again though Jessica was outstanding and amazing! Super talented! The front staff was also nice.

Aveda has disappointed me since covid. They used to be spectacular, but compared to a year ago i think their service has definitely changed. I left very disappointed in my haircut yesterday. Granted it is not a bad cut, but it is also dramatically shorter than what i asked for and the example photos i showed. At home there was a color oops and i went in to cut some of the mistake off, as it was dyed black when it was supposed to be purple. Perhaps the stylist heard me mention that i wanted to cut the incorrect color and did not realize what i was asking for. I went in with slightly longer than shoulder length hair, so there was plenty to work with. I was looking for an a-line cut, but a longer one that was not stacked. She asked if i was ok with a dramatic cut and brought up that the line would be steep. I said i was good with dramatic and a steep line would probably be best. I mentioned if she had to shave my neck because of the cut i was ok with that. We did not discuss length, beyond me mentioning I wanted to be able to tuck my hair behind my ears in the front at a minimum. The cut i was going for would have taken several inches off, but it also would have left the incorrect dye job more hidden. I feel the cut i received almost draws more attention to the incorrect color by blatantly exposing it. As i said, it is not a bad cut....but i very much feel it is not what i was aiming for, and i dont feel the experience was tailored to me.The time i went before i got the same feeling of not having the cut tailored to me. Once again, it wasnt a bad cut, and i left that time much happier than this time....but it seemed like the hairdresser did what she was used to, or what was easy for her. I think i would have preferred a bob, and she did a straight line. My daughter got her haircut that same day and also got a straight line, but that was what she was going for exactly. Once again, not a bad cut....but not quite what i was hoping for.Prior to covid every cut i had there was spectacular, seemed tailored, and was exactly what i was hoping for. The second to last time i had not brought pictures, and the difference between a bob and straight line isnt huge....so i figured that was on me. Yesterday there was some clear miscommunication somewhere along the way. I had appreciated having some length to my hair and being able to pull it up. I had hoped to remove some of the wrong color, but i knew it was not going to be fully removed. I doubt i will be going back here for haircuts in the future, although my daughter will probably still go. My advice to anyone going is make sure your stylist understands you clearly before they start. Also know that you might get a standard cut (my current cut is a very typical stacked a-line, the other cut post covid was a typical straight line). Personally i plan to wear a lot of hats in the near future, until i get some length back. I have included all pictures i showed (longer purple a-line and white/gray a-line) as well as what i received (shorter purple).

I love the Aveda Institute! The students in training to cut hair are awesome and come from all walks of life. Talking about what brought them to Aveda and where they hope to go next is half the fun. :D The music is great, and instructors are on hand every step of the way to check the students work. I get great haircuts for under $20. :D

I was able to get in the same day I called. That in itself was awesome. I was lucky to get Kayla who did a fantastic job on my weave and how to care for my hair. Im going back for a cut from her in January before she graduates. Shes thorough, detail oriented with good insights. Thanks Kayla 😊

Angela did a great job on my facial and spent time on massage to help my jaw tense-ness. Skin was super soft after appointment. Also, Summer did a blow out for me and took the time to give me a hand massage while a deep conditioning masque was on my hair. Nice blowout, last 5 days! Well done to both of them!

Beautiful building- I had a pedicure- which took 2 hours and there was not even a massage to this. It was just way too long. The price was right but way too much time for this. I love my nails- they look great.. but wow- just too much time..

My hair turned out great. I do wish that the school would spend time on discussing appropriate conversation topics. In my opinion (it wasnt the girl who was doing my hair), I feel it is not appropriate to try to educate your 60+ year old client on how ok it is to smoke pot. In my humble opinion that is just tacky. I also think it is important for the students to learn that being catty and gossipy is not very professional.Otherwise, my experience was good. I had color done and even though it took 3+ hours my hair turned out very nice.

I love coming to the Aveda institute here in Vancouver . Everyone is really friendly and the service is excellent. I have had hair cuts, hair color and facials and my experience has been very good. I have been coming here for over a year now and really look forward to my appointments. They have extended hours most evenings and so I can come after work or weekends. When I have had to change or postpone they have been really flexible. I get excellent quality service for an affordable price. They have lots of parking available as well which makes my visit hassle free. I would highly recommend this place

I have gone to Aveda for haircuts for years and have always been pleased. They have great people up front as well as wonderful and talented students and instructors. They are professional and work to make a positive and memorable experience for each customer. Not to mention, they have very reasonable prices. I recently started going in for facials and I recommend it for EVERYONE! Their facials are spectacular and I wish I had tons of money so I could go all the time. Aveda is by far my preferred salon! I love the products, the services are great and varied, and I much prefer the haircutting techniques practiced by their students. Recently I had my hair cut by Maria, who did a fantastic job with my short A-line. If you havent tried Aveda Institute, you should.

I have been going to the Aveda Institute, Vancouver Campus for several years now. I have had an absolutely wonderful experience each an every time.I am not one to leave reviews, especially negative. However, I must say I am rather put off, as I just got off the phone from receiving very poor customer service from the front desk person taking my call.I am really hoping that the students are receiving proper modeling and coaching in professionalism and appropriate customer service.One of my jobs involves working with the public as well. I know that some patrons can be more challenging to work with than others.I know I showed enthusiasm.With all due respect, I did not appreciate the tone and manner in which I was spoken to this evening. :(

Have been getting low-lights done for about the last year and am always pleased with the result. They use high quality products and the process may take a little longer as the students need to have each step checked, but the cost and the outcome is well worth it!

Just finished my first Aveda facial with Hayley Reyes. I had the botanical resurfacing and eye treatment. So happy with my service! The whole facility is lovely, and very professional. Students use the full line of Aveda products. They work with the instructors to develop individual treatment plans. Definitely on par, if not better than other professional spa services in Vancouver. Because this is an instructional facility the pricing is a fraction of what you will spend at a spa. I look forward to my next visit!

I’ve been going to Aveda for about a year now, more than half way into the program. That being said there has not been a day that I haven’t been warmly welcomed by Emily. She’s the first person you see when you walk in. She’ll always have the biggest & brightest smile on her face with the most welcoming “hello”. Rain or shine she’s always on point. She’s an important piece I’d say, to the Vancouver campus.

As a Aveda student I knew that the graduates before me had set a pretty high standard for professionalism. Just walking in the building you get of overwhelming sense of fashion and beauty. On my first day at Aveda, I was greeted by Travis at the front desk, he is kind and make you feel welcome. He also took the time to learn my first name. He is a great first impression when coming in as a student, or for a service as a client. My instructor is Lisa Davy. Lisa is a instructor that makes learning fun and easily comprehensible. I have no prior training as a stylist, yet she teaches in a way that it all makes sense. I look forward to what aveda has in store for me as a student. If cosmetology is something you are thinking about, I encourage you to give Aveda a look...

The staff here at Aveda are some of the most highly educated individuals. I always leave looking better than when I came in. Plus parking is just a few short steps from the door. Love it!

I am at the Vancouver Aveda campus frequently for services, and I have to say one of the best things about my visits is Emily at the front desk. Her cheerful and professional demeanor sets the perfect tone for a wonderful spa experience. She is a true gem, and is like the icing on the cake to what is always a wonderful experience!

A facial with Jackie was pure bliss. I felt so comfortable and relaxed throughout the procedure.

I brought my three year old in and they were very good at making him feel comfortable. They allowed him to go at his pace and waited until he was ready for each new thing. I will be coming back!

If I could rate this school lower I would. This so called learning facility is an absolute joke. Any little tiny bit of rain and the entire lower level of this school floods every time, and do they fix it? No, they just put a “bandaid” over it and call it a day (if I could insert videos I would because I have videos of the ceilings falling through, the entire school flooding from the ceilings, ground, and more). When the school floods students are to go home or help clean up the flood “to get clocked hours.” They use the very same towels on clients that they use to clean up the floors every time it floods. The school does not provide a dish soap to wash equipment with, so often times students are left to wash things with hand soap. Our instructor was constantly being pulled away during our learning time, so she would then have to rush through information. Then we were told to study for exams during our “white space,” which means whenever you aren’t scheduled for appointments, which was never because the school kept us fully booked. We had no time to study the information that we got a crash course in from our “class time,” so we often had to cram in studying the next morning before any exams. This school does not hire janitorial staff, so the floors and bathrooms are absolutely disgusting (it really shows when it floods).If thinking about attending this school I highly recommend looking at the Portland campus, at least you would have a proper learning facility.

This was my fourth time coming here for a leg wax, and the only time so far I’ve really had a bad experience. The girl that was supposed to do my appointment was running late, and I waited almost two hours to be fit in. I would have just rescheduled but I had an event the next day. When they finally took me back, the girl seemed so nervous and anxious that it was giving ME anxiety, even though I’ve done this before. She seemed to be using too much wax so it spilled all over my legs and didn’t really pull the hair out, and she wouldn’t pull the paper in one quick motion. Instead, she pulled it slowly, which left wax on my legs and made it more painful. I tried to politely point out both issues, but she didn’t adjust her method. I was there for about 40 minutes and she had only done the front of one leg. At that point, I decided to leave, because it wasn’t getting rid of the hair and it was making me too uncomfortable. I completely understand these are students still learning, and I don’t want to be unkind, but an instructor really should have gotten involved before I felt like I needed to walk out. I’m disappointed because my other experiences have been good, but this left a bad taste in my mouth.

Madeline Pavia was awesome. She was detailed, made great use of her time, was confident, personable and knowledgeable about the techniques and product she was using. I’d definitely see her again for a cut!

Second time getting my hair colored here. My stylist, Dylan, has done a fantastic job with my color and is very friendly and personable. I highly recommend this place.

Ive been to hair dressers in the past that get carried away with their scissors, but Sierra knew exactly what I wanted. She gave me the right amount of layers while maintaining most of my hair length and cleaning up those split ends. I was so happy with the outcome, quality and price that I booked her for a second hair cut.

Came in for maintenance haircut and I have long hair. My hair was washed, cut, (instructor always keeping eye out) then blow dried and styled. After a hectic day a great experience getting hair done is amazing. Keep up the good work!

We (myself and two daughters 12, 14) have been here 8-10 visits with everything from hair cuts, facials, brow waxing, updos. The teachers are always their to support the students who are learning their craft. Its a great place and I love aveda products. Jenna gave my daughter a hair cut today and it looks fantastic! She’s got lots of thick curly hair so it’s always tricky to get it looking good.
