Just started my 2 year old here and we love it! She absolutely loves dancing at home so couldnt wait to start her at Dance 101.So fun seeing her have fun with the other kids and experiencing new sounds, instruments and movements. Not gonna lie, I have a lot of fun myself! 😄Its a perfect way to spend our Tuesday morning and now every time we enter the parking lot she screams dance!Miss Emily is very interactive with all the kids and patient and very positive. Its a very enjoyable experience. So happy we found this place.Looking forward to this being her dance studio for years to come!

My children have thrived as dancers at Dance 101! The staff and instruction they have received from their teachers is fantastic! My kids love to go to dance and had so much fun at their first recital with this studio!! The studio is clean and well organized. Great Communication from the studio to parents on classes, camps, and schedules! I have taken adult classes as well and had the best experience. I recommend this studio to all my friends and family. From the owner to the staff and teachers, it’s the people that make the Dance 101 studio AMAZING!!

We love Dance 101! Highly recommend this dance studio. I had searched in the area for a dance studio that have professional staff but also really care about the kids, and even tried and had a not-so-good experience at a different studio before finding Dance 101. Its been a night and day difference in quality! Every Dance 101 staff member is professional, friendly, and seems to genuinely want to teach children. My daughter is comfortable here and really enjoys her classes.

My daughters got their starts as dancers here with Ms. Tessa and Ms. Jordan, and I returned to dance as an adult with Ms. Emily (the fabulous owner of Dance 101). I cant speak highly enough of the quality of the classes offered here and the attention given to each student. The teachers all care so much about empowering students to express themselves through the power and lyricism of their bodies. Theyre truly wonderful, and great role models for my girls and me.

My two daughters absolutely love dance 101! With so much uncertainty and change happening right now, the fact that my children can take dance classes is a literal life saver! I feel 100% safe at dance 101. The staff there have taken every measure possible to keep the studio safe and clean, and I know this is no small task. They truly care about my girls health, both physical and mental. I know Miss Emily has been working around the clock to continually stay up to date with the current state regulations, and find creative solutions to the never-ending curve balls that keep coming. You can feel the care from the second you step into the studio. Aside from the care and safety, the instruction is top notch! You can tell the dance teachers are truly passionate about their career, as they simply pour out love for both dance and the students. I feel so happy and grateful to have discovered the dance 101 family. We will continue to send our girls to this lovely studio!

I love Dance 101! After looking around the valley for a good adult ballet class, I couldnt be happier with this studio. I enjoyed it so much that I even added tap classes to my schedule! Ms. Emily and her staff are just amazing. Very friendly and professional. The lessons are outstanding for all levels and ages.

My daughter has been dancing with Dance 101 since 2015 and she loves it! The instructors are absolutely wonderful and they really love what they do! We have been coming here for a few years now. My oldest daughter first, and now my 3 year old. Both have enjoyed it, and have learned a lot. I watched my oldest daughter go in with low self esteem and come out with confidence. To me, that is invaluable.The rate is very fair. Ive yet to meet an unfriendly staff member. And the owner seems to genuinely care about each student. Overall really great place. Thank you!

Love Dance 101! Love the staff - Emily and crew are delightful. The teachers are well trained, and bring great energy to their classes. Love the happy paint color (small detail, but details are everything!) Dance 101 is a place that fosters creativity.

My almost 3 year old started class here a few weeks ago, and it is all she talks about! The teacher is so friendly and patient. The studio has very good Covid19 related policies in place to keep everyone safe. So far we are very happy with the studio and the fun my daughter is having!

If I had children interested in dance - we would be part of Dance 101. From my interactions with Ms. Emily and the families that take class at Dance 101 - it is obvious that Ms. Emily and the staff at this studio focus on building fundamental skills for students to build on, and apparent that they have a genuine love and passion for sharing the art of dance and cheer in the Tempe community. On top of that, Ms. Emily considers the interests and needs of each individual student, family, and staff when having to make decisions for the studio as a whole - and frankly this has been so important (and even more challenging) during the last year when businesses have been faced with balancing quality of service, customer service, and ever-changing recommendations for maintaining community health and safety. I have noticed that because Ms. Emily values her students and staff, no decisions are made lightly, nor are they exclusive to the interest of the studio. It is no small feat to single handedly manage a business like this and still have all 5 star ratings.I could fill this page with superlatives about the fun, bright colors, the amazing community and social media presence, or all of the extras that are offered at Dance 101 (story time, the parade, bring a friend to class, virtual classes, or the personal touches and updates that are frequently done around the studio) - but I recommend you really go experience it for yourself. :)

We have been with Dance 101 for several years and I recommend them so highly. Truly Ms. Emily and staff teach a love and appreciation for dance that is free of any judgement or pressure. During the shut down, they have gone above and beyond to still connect with students and keep everyone safe.

We absolutely love dance 101. Both of my girls attend are excited to go each week. The teachers are fabulous!

The classes are very small. Many of the teachers have a four year degree in dance from a university. The teachers are generally cheerful and upbeat. I recommend this dance studio.

The teachers are well informed of the styles of dance they teach. Everyone is friendly. The studio space is clean and well kept.

Updated Feb 18 211 star for unprofessional (secretive, contract terminating) behavior by Ms Emily, owner/operator.5 stars for our experience w/ Ms Tessa & Ms Brittany.As far as we know (not permitted to watch the classes), our daughter enjoyed instruction w/ Tessa & Brittany. On Dec 22 20, we received an email welcoming us to the 2021 season. Later that evening, I noticed their missed call -- called back only to hear Emily speak & repeat legalese in a shaky voice, to the effect that we were not welcome in 2021, & our pre-payment would not be accepted (in spite of my impression to date of a 100% mutually valuable exchange). No details, in spite of my kind, calm, & simple questions. With a few requests via email for more detail, she budged a little and suggested an employee was offended by my communications. Since I am *always* with several other friendly parents, I have reviewed my actions/words/emails with three sets of them to try to discover why we are singled out as offensive.That night trying to fall asleep, I thought of the USA gymnastics cover up. To ensure no cover up is happening in this case, I think I should diligently investigate that my daughter and others have not been harmed.1) Began inquiry using BBB. Emily simply replies w/ the same legalese. No progress.2) Spoke w/ Tempe Police. They do not investigate odd situations. Since children involved, suggested AZ DCS (Dept. Child Safety).3) Spoke w/ DCS -- filed an internal report, but no action can be taken w/o evidence of harm. Prevention is not part of their job.Suggested we find an advocate through 211.Should I feel satisfied that I have done everything in my power to prevent abuse? I dont yet, not until Emily reveals to a trusted 3rd party (not me) a dated internal document that makes clear the reason for termination is not related to abuse of children. Emily Finch: will you do this simple thing?

Dance 101 is a great place for dance lovers. The staff (especially Ms. Emily) is wonderful and the facilities are very nice. They not only teach you how to dance but also tell you the history behind each move. The instructors are very knowledgeable, and have the real experience of the dancing world. Definitely recommend Dance 101.

We have been dancing with dance 101 for 5 years now. My oldest says it’s “an amazing place to be” and my youngest says “we love the teachers.” The instructors are so professional and wonderful with the kids and my girls enjoy dancing so much! I see their twirls and dance moves all the time when they are playing or listening to music, and the best part is seeing them shine at the recital at the end of the year. Highly recommend!!!!

My daughter and I loved the place. We went for a trial class and everybody was very welcoming and friendly. Well be going back for classes.

Due to Covid our dance place was closed. So with that in mind we checked other dance studios in our area for just in case. What I found was that Dance 101 was the best place for a beginner and up. The dance studio had 1.Great communication during Covid stay at home 2. Awesome dance instructors that really love their jobs 3. Nice beginner classes for babies and toddlers with parents 4. A variety of dance classes for children, teens and adults too! Two begjnner classes for age 2 thru 4. 5. An awesome website, always up to date, easy to access our account 6. A clean, vibrant and updated dance studio 7. Fun contests and camps 8. Dancer spotlight each month 9.My granddaughter loves attending 10. great price. 11. Recitals This is the best dance school for my granddaughters current needs. We are so happy to be a part of it.

I love this damce school, my daughter and cousins have been dancing for the company for 2 years. Theyre extremely patient with the children and great at teaching the children.

What a great experience! Emily (urban) and Lindsey (contemporary) were so great! Ive been to some not so great places in this area and this studio was challenging and fun. Both instructors were very warm and welcoming. I will definitely go back! :)

I highly recommend this study for boys and girls of all ages including adults. I take adult classes myself but have seen the kids classes as well as the recital (which is amazing in itself!) and the kids love it and have so much fun. The instructors are very talented and friendly. I have learned so much here and find the atmosphere very welcoming. I was also pleasantly surprised at the overall cost. Nothing but good things to say about this studio!

Frozen Dance Camp was a huge hit. I was impressed that the kids learned so much in such a short amount of time. We are doing the summer themed camps on Fridays and loving those as well. The best part is that my Daughter loves Dance 101 and the instructors and is asking to go back each week.

My daughter is taking a ballet and tap class at Dance 101 and loves it. Ms. Emily is amazing with the children. She is so patient and has fun with the class, and the children are learning so much! I am also taking an adult dance class and look forward to it every week!

I absolutely love the studio! I signed my daughter (who definitely has some special medical issues and hasnt been in a class setting EVER) up for a class this past year. She was extremely nervous, had separation anxiety and was a little overwhelmed with all of the new people. Miss Emily, Miss Christine, and Miss Ashley made a point to help her feel so welcomed. They let her come around at her own pace and she ended up LOVING it! She learned so much more than I would have ever expected at her age and would practice at home. The night of the big performance she nailed it and has never been more proud of herself. Im so thankful that she got this experience and we will be returning this year in two classes! She is ready for another big show haha! They truly care about the kids here and it is very apparent in all that they do!
