Sensie Nancy is Amazing! She is professional and knows her art. She is amazing with kids and teenagers and there is a reason why she has such a high retention rate for her students.

Karate is amazing and your kids can learn so much from studying it but please for your own sake look for another studio.This is in response to your response USSD.1- My daughter has been going here for a year because shes been under contract. She loves karate and is super sad to not be going anymore but Im also tired of paying $200 a month for her to run around and not actually be learning very much karate. Also her private lessons arent even private so we are not getting what we signed up for.2- We arent really saving any money considering our daughter cant/wont be attending the events we paid for and you wont even give us a partial refund.3- I say you are impossible to contact, not referring to you, but referring to the organization as a whole, because I tried to handle this privately, my husband tried to handle this privately and unfortunately you were not helpful. If there is an escalated issue there is no way to handle it other than to go publicly because there is no other point of contact.4- People need to read that comment and see the kind of place that they are trusting their kid with.I reiterate. Karate is great and my daughter loved it but save your money and go somewhere else. $200 a month for classes, $200 for equipment, $75 for tests, $75-$95 for parties. The $3000 weve spent over the last year on karate has not been worth it.

My son Jayden and i came across USSD at my wifes insurance office. Jayden saw a box with little flyers saying he could learn a free lesson. We filled it out with our fingures crossed hoping to be the lucky winners. Jayden has been a part of USSD for a little less than a month now and loves it. Nancy and the staff are so encuraging and uplifting. with such little time i have seen my sons confidence grow. i recomend USSD to everyone.

I highly recommend this dojo. I’ve had my 5-year old son in the Tiny Tigers class for about 6 months now. He loves it! Sensei Nancy is great at teaching kids. I was so grateful when the tournament was done in such a positive and uplifting way. It was such a great experience. And they even have ONLINE classes! Which has been wonderful during the Carona Virus stuff. I also love that the tiny tigers class has prepared him to start school next year by teaching how to sit still when needed and how to follow directions.

This is the place if you want your child to have thorough instruction on the details of karate done in a way that is age appropriate and respectful. But “Miss Nancy” and her staff do not stop at karate technique. They are also very specific with each student on how to be more respectful at home and in school, how to maintain calm and focus during karate class and in school, and how to be friendly and courteous to adults and to each other...My child hasn’t been easy for them; he struggles in school and comes with struggles specific to the right and left brain not connecting well (to put it, mildly) He struggles with speech and memory and anxiety that is connected to how frustrated his teachers (and his parents!) can get with his learning disabilities...“Miss Nancy” maintains a patient respectful tone, and her methodology is highly encouraging. I honestly don’t know HOW she does it, but she is consistent, and I really appreciate it!!!Another thing that I appreciate is that the experienced students mingle with the newer students and have been taught to be VERY patient and respectful and encouraging to each other. This allows more advanced minds to move ahead mire quickly and the slower students to get the support they need.Priceless in a learning environment

Im a student at this amazing school,ive been here for over a year and it has taught me, discipline,self control,how to stay active,and especially right now that we are Quarantined and they adapt so well that now we do online classes (virtual ) and I love all the senseis there they have helped me so much.

Amazing place to learn to have confidence in yourself. It teaches you moves to defend your self. My son was starting to get bullied now he knows how to defend him self but not to be a bully. You learn patience, confidence, inner strength, understands practice makes perfect. Its more like a second family now. Best decision weve made to put my son in karate. United studios is the best place to learn.

As a mature adult (50+), I find this is very helpful to keep both body and mind in motion. Definitely worth doing! Professionally run, in every sense! Friendly and welcoming to all ages and conditions! Open 9+ hours a day on Monday through Saturday. If you want greater self confidence and self defense training, you cant find a better place.

Hands down...or should I say Dukes Up!!!! Sensei Nancy and her cadets are amazing!! Teaching our kids and many adults how to defend themselves, be respectful, disciplined, teaching a look listen learn method. My son has been going here for approximately 4 months now, my son is very high energy and loves his Martial arts class’s, every morning we wake up he asks if he has Kung fu today, now with virtual in the world he can go everyday. He listens better at home has learned self control, and loves to practice his training with dad, he’s even doing better in school.They have been an inspiration before the pandemic and now during the pandemic proving to be more of a catalyst for our communities through virtual to private. Words cant describe how I feel to have found such a rare gemstone of a place!!! Being 23, and never having any experience in the martial arts, I kind of just went along with the basic television depictions of a martial arts school. I expected I would do some meditation, learn some karate, and that Id be on my own merry way, simple stuff. This place is so much more than that though! Structure, self defense, confidence building, fun, and a great atmosphere, its all here. Whatever youre looking for, rest assured, this place has it and more. Four months into my training, and this place has become very special to me. Both the instructors, and other students really care about you as an individual. Its such a beautiful thing to be surrounded by so much positivity. Were like one big family here. USSD has already changed my life so much, and I cant wait to see what the future with them brings!!!

It’s great place to learn martial arts. All the teachers are great and very intensive to the students needs. My son loves it and is learning a lot.

It’s fun, it’s tough, it’s so worth it. I am in much better shape than when I started . Sensei Nancy is the bomb!! Master Martin is the bomb !! All the teachers are the bomb . They get to know me personally which helps me improve myself, not just my karate. It’s great!

I have shot Martial Art photos for over a dozen different Karate schools in the Salt Lake City Area and USSD is the best. The Students are the most polite and the instructors are the most professional. As far as the Martial Arts when the USSD Instructors give a stance or a move suggestion to their students for the photo they actually know it unlike their competition. Great Job USSD.

My daughter always has fun. Sensei Nancy is great. Not only does she teach the kids how to have fun but she also teaches them to be ninja tough. I love it and I hope my kid learns to be ninja tough

My experience with here wasnt very pleasant.I had won a free class, I entered a contest they called me all excited to let me know that I had won, so I was pretty excited about it especially since I had never done this before. Well when I got to the class I only got to do some stretching and a little bit of the basic moves this lasted not even 20 minutes when they pull me out to try to get me into a membership, Nancy was helping me but she was incredibly rude, she was pushy, fake, and annoying, she wasnt honest about the pricing she used fear tactic to try to get me to buy a membership, I at one point even asked her if she worked on commission because of how incredibly pushy she was, and I didnt even know what the studio was about because all I did was stretch, so overall for an experience I supposedly won it was pretty bad I would not recommend.

USSD has been fantastic working with my 2 children. 1 of my kids was having a very hard time in school with her grades and some bullying. Since starting at USSD her confidence has grown so much. Her behavior is improved 1000% at home which has resulted in her time at school being much better as well. After being at USSD for a little over 8 month she has now made the honor roll at school and is a strait A student and has a whole new group of friends. I am not as worried about her falling in with the wrong group like I was before. I would recommend USSD to any parent out there who wants more for their child. I believe USSD has been life changing for both of my children. They are also very reasonably priced.

My son decided to walk in one day. He loved it and now he is building more confidence. Staff is great, patient but strict.It is a great commitment but really worth it.

BE WARNED!! If I could give less than one star I would. The high cost for the services provided does not equal out. They had limited time offer for a deal and encouraged us to pay for the event package before they had scheduled it. Turns out the deal ended up equalling out the the full cost. Furthermore, this event has been set to happen AFTER our contract ends. They have refused to refund us the money and now have made it impossible to contact them for it. I would have rather delt with this through them, but due to the fact that they refuse to answer any inquiries, I am posting this here. (Keep in mind our contract has not ended yet!) There is no real care for the students, only a care for the money they could provide. Rather than wasting your time and money on this buisness, literally go anywhere else.

We went in to see what it was all about since my son finally decided he wanted to try out karate and he fell in love right away. Everything was described in great detail to me from the moment we made it known it was something he wanted to do. We felt very welcomed and I am excited for his future with USSD and cant wait to see my sons progression.

This is a great community where the people you work out with become your best friends. In addition to that they have been a great support while I have been going through knee problems. If it werent for them I wouldnt be half as active as I have been able to be.

This school has been FABULOUS for my son. He started at four years old and its been almost a year there. Ive watched him become more focused, determined, and respectful. The sensei are quite wonderful with small children and really understand the limitations of age and development when planning lessons. Even the other students help each other without conflict. Everyone just wants you to succeed.Yes, there are schools out there that are less expensive, but when you factor in the amount of time (2-3x a week, plus a private lesson and MANY other events to improve skills and build camaraderie) the tuition really isnt that bad.

This is the best place I have found for our son Steven. Steven has suffered from ADHD and as a parent it really grinds at your patience. I wasnt sure how long he would stick with it or how long they could keep his attention but he just finished his 3 month trial and we are going to put him on another 3 months. I have looked into it at other places and you could save money but not much and what you would be trading for a couple bucks a month is not worth it TRUST ME. We did Karate at 2 other spots and Steven lost interest in less then a month at both schools. United Studios has me now as a cheerleader for life these guys and gals ( Nancy ) are the best. Thank you for helping us find Steven an outlet for his energy. I am very impressed.

I started when I was 6 years old. Im now 15. Through the years of training there I have been taught self confidence, control, respect, discipline, and how to defend myself. It has given me enough confidence to participate in class, and enough control to maintain a 3.9 cumulative GPA. Thank you USSD karate for training me for 9 years.

USSD Taylorsville is AWESOME. I have been training here for 6 years. Love my Karate Family, they are the best.

I started taking karate 3 weeks before I turned 62 years old. Sensei Nancy Ayala and Master Martin have been great instructors. They have been very patient with me also. I had noticed the 5 years before I started karate that I was having trouble with my memory. I believe that my memory has improved over the past few years. I have balance problems that have been better. The one thing that karate has helped me with is stiff neck muscles from an old whiplash injury that was bothering me for 10 years. By doing a few push-ups at karate each time, within a few months it no longer bothered me. Karate has been really fun for me.

This has been a great growing and learning experience for my child. Helps him with respect, focus, self control to name a few important traits. The dojo, competitions and other extra activities help give your child or an adult a sense of accomplishment. Great classes with consistent and dedicated Senseis. I’ve been doing karate ever since I was a little kid and I’m a teen now. I used to cry a lot but now thanks to the wonderful people and sensei’s I’ve learned how to control my emotions and I’ve gotten wiser too.

I have two of my kids that just started here. We signed our teenage son, and right away Nacy was great! Nancy offered to give my daughter a free lesson. My kids love coming here...they have learned a lot. My daughter goes home and talks about everything she has learned. I love how they help out charities and get the students to give back. I am approaching my 59th birthday and still training. I LOVE IT! Its the best exercise I could have asked for.I am now 58 years old and have achieved my first level of brown belt. I have met so many great people throughout this organization. I am always learning something new. Always inspired, encouraged, and challenged. I started at this dojo almost a year ago reluctant to start another exercise regime that would only last a few weeks or months. Coming up on my one year anniversary, I am still enjoying the classes, students and instructors. They are a close family and have welcomed me and my family into their dojo lives. They always have great activities for all ages. It is more than just a place to go exercise, it is a place where you make long term friends you can call family. For all ages. Dont wait. I started at age 45 with many physical complaints and Im getting stronger and faster everyday. The instructors are great to assist you if you need help with that bad knee or back pain. Love my dojo and my dojo peeps!

TruMotion Martial arts is the best place to train. I am now 37 my son is 12 we are still going strong love all the training we get from the instructors from utah and the ones from out of state. I would name them all but I am sure I would forget some awesome instructors I have learned from.I enjoy training with Master Martin and senseiNancy I am 33 and the older and younger black belts help me if I dont understand something. My son is 8 and has been training since he was 3 and he enjoys it has meant many friends there. I would recommend ussd to anyone looking to learn martial arts.My son is now 10 still loves karate. He went to the the new after school program and it helped him lots this summer he will be doing ussds summer camp. They will be doing many events with the kids

I go to these karate but the only thing I hate is that They show you forms I wish they just tought you how to fight. Learning a form is hard eveytime you move up a rank.

We love TVille USSD!My daughter was born with hip dysplasia having five surgeries before she was two years old. This left her with inflexible joints and a lack of confidence in her strength, balance and overall movement. My daughter is seven now and has been in karate with Sensei Nancy for about 1 1/2 years. The transformation has been phenomenal. Sensei Nancy and the other Senseis at Taylorsville dojo have trained my daughter improving her strength, balance, coordination and knowledge of the martial arts helping to create a confident, happy and able ninja in training. My daughter is preparing for her 7th belt test and I couldnt be more proud of her and more grateful to Sensei Nancy.

I am very pleased with my training at USSD, the quality of my life has blown through the roof since beginning the Martial Arts. I have seen other schools but none quiet as thorough and prompt as a student we learn confidence, self defense, discipline, and fitness as well as many other great things. I became addicted to the awesome life changes I have felt empowered by this school I have become on fire about my job and have doubled my income in the last year, and plan to triple it this coming year. My friends all say how I have changed and say that I have inspired them to do certain things to better in their life also, so I am grateful thank you USSD! I have been know to try and share the Arts with them but as we all do, I can only lead the horse to well only you can drink it. I am proud to say I dont feel threatened, instead this is a family envirement that encourages growth and learning.
