Our almost 3-year old daughter has been attending Cadence Academy for almost 3 months now and we couldnt be more happy with our experience. Ms. Esha is amazing - she is kind, loving, helpful and patient and my daughter took to her right away. Now that she is moving up to the potty-trained class (thanks to Ms. Eshas amazing potty-training), she also has Ms. Erica as her teacher, and she is just as amazing and so kind and encouraging. Coming from a very bad experience before, it was so refreshing and comforting to see that my baby is taken care of, that she is adjusting well to her school, and that they actually encourage parents to call as much as they need to when checking on their kids. They always provide me with updates and I am always reassured that my child is doing well. We are so happy to have found Cadence Academy!

I did weeks of research to find the right school and Cadence is the place to be! Not only are they kind, caring and loving of all the children in their care but they have an amazing education program too! I could write a book on all the amazing things about Cadence but I have limited space. If you are looking for the best childcare for your little one, this is the place to be.

I recently enrolled my 3 year old daughter at Cadence Academy in Tacoma. I was a little nervous about her attending school again as she has been out of daycare for the past year due to Covid. But, she has done great! Within a day or two, all the staff and teachers knew her name. When I would pick her up and I asked her if she had a good day, she’d yell excitedly ‘it was GREAT!’ Last week we were talking about what college was and I asked her what she would like to do when she grew up, she yelled ‘I want to be Miss Erica (her teacher)! She’s really nice!’. It put my mind at ease and I knew I made the right decision on sending her back to school. It’s also wonderful that they provide really great breakfast meals, lunches and snacks for the kids. One less thing for me to worry about - not having to make lunches! Woohoo!

My child went there for a couple of years but when he started acting differently than the other kids (he is now autistic) they kicked him out. They said they didnt have the time to be able to care for him because he didnt play like the other kids.

When we first moved here to WA state I researched Cadence. It was called something else before they were bought out or legally changed their name. So I watched, read and visited the facility more than once just to be sure if the quality matched what their website claims. Much like a lot of loving parents who value time, good running start on their childs or childrens education, and whenever possible affordable education, I was hoping to get that at Cadence. The school was close to my home, facility looked clean and organized. The staff was always friendly when I would schedule a tour. They explain they have a schedule of what your child would be learning. They cook the children breakfast and lunch. They use an app to keep track of sign in and sign outs. You can set up your tuition payments via their system. Cadence appears to be a good fit.At the time my child was 3, potty trained, and was familiar with the basic teachings such as colors, shapes, numbers, etc. Naturally I thought it was a win win for all of us. My child gets to gain more social skills with the opportunity to practice what shes taught at home, education wise. I get some time uninterrupted to run errands and other stay at home mom duties. While the school gets paid.Imagine my surprise when after all that research and waiting that my experience with Cadence Academy would be the following- within 2wks at their school my child had a chipped front tooth. When I inquired about it via in person and follow up via email, there was no explanation, no resolve, no apologies for negligence. I just kept being told no one saw anything. Keep in mind there are to be 2 staff members present and available for each class, and they have cameras. I was literally told by the manager or someone pretending to be her by answering my email, that because my child didnt cry or come to them when it happened they dont know either. So they expected a 3yr old to feel so comfortable with strangers to just come to them after only being there collectively 3 days. My child was enrolled for 2 full days a week. Where was the adult? The school stays with some child or children having lice. There would be days where when my child had a runny nose like most kids do, I would pick her up and she would have dry snot all over her face. I asked the teacher or babysitter if that was policy to allow the children to have snot on their face and not cleaned up. The teacher told me Thats not her job. The next time I dropped of my child I asked the director if that was policy based on what the teacher said and she told me that staff are to clean or assist the child to clean their nose. Later that day when I picked up my child, my childs nose and face were dry snot free. Needless to say that premium or basic quality care to ensure the health safety of the children isnt top priority across the board. My child was there less than a year, we paid over $3,000 for 2 full day a week attendance schedule, and my child learned nothing I had not already taught her. When spring time came I enrolled my child into ELC (Early Learning Center) in hopes that my child could start there in the fall. By the time the summer came I was thrilled. Because there was no way we were going to pay for summer care. Taking my child out of Cadence Academy was the best educational decision Ive made this far for my child. The school my child attends now is 4 half days a week, with a reasonable age appropriate schedule, regular activities, fun home activities that encourages family engagement, and staff that continuously and genuinely enjoy and care about the children.I know this was a lot regarding the experience we dealt with at Cadence Academy aka basic daycare. I believe my family was robbed. My child was robbed of proper looking after while in their care and set backed educationally. Us as parents were robbed out of money because theyre not a school, theyre a high priced babysitting service. DO NOT SEND YOUR KID(S) HERE!

I love love love this school. As a first time mom, I love knowing my baby is well cared for while Im at work. I dont stress because I know my baby will have a good day-- he comes home happy and is always glad to see his teachers. I also love how they go the extra mile with family events, parent/teachers conferences, Santa visits, and so much more. Highly recommend!

My son has attended this center since he was two and he is now 5. Heather is the center director and she is absolutely a blessing to me and every other family that attends Cadence Academy. The employees that work there are absolutely incredible too. That center is literally the best thing that has ever happened to me and my boys. If you are looking for a center that is structured, clean, friendly, organized and family orientated then Cadence Academy is the place for you.

I have toured this facility, did observations of their Family Holiday event as well as do a 3 hour curriculum in action classroom observation this month. This daycare is beautifully and intentionally put together in a developmentally appropriate way for children. It seems very welcoming to parents as well. I enjoyed my visit and witnessed first hand professional caring and engaged activities with the children in all classrooms. The staff are cheerful, friendly, and use attunement and engagement in their work with their students. This was so encouraging and pleasant to see. Good job staff and Management ! They are doing good work for children !!

If your child is school age... find another daycare. Kids bully and beat on the younger kids and nothing gets done about it. You will also have non stop lice. Never before did my kids get lice until they attended Christensen elementary and cadence academy. Younger kids classes seem to be ok.

My daughter is 4 and has attended Cadence Academy of Tacoma for just over a year now. Ive purposefully waited this long to write a review because this seemed too good to be true and I was skeptical. My daughter had a difficult time adjusting to daycare since she had been cared for at home by family members till she was 3. All of the staff was so loving and attentive to her needs and was really good about communicating with my husband and I.I love that they have an app that is regularly used to track meals, naps, and all activities to include pictures and videos. It give me peace of mind to see her smiling face throughout the day and Im able to discuss her day with her which makes me feel more involved and connected.Ive really enjoyed working with all of their staff. Ive had very few concerns, if any, but when I have they are quick to address them and never make light of the situation no matter how big or small. My daughter has gotten lice once since she started attending their facility but they went into action quickly once I notified them. All classrooms that my daughter had been in the days prior, had been deep cleaned, all soft toys, linens, etc had been removed and signs had been placed outside the classrooms that there had been a report of lice in that class. Not only was I impressed but it made me feel so good that they went into action right away to solve the matter. Anytime that my daughter has been injured playing, etc no matter how big or small an incident report had been filled out and given to me immediately. Even if my daughter is having trouble with a particular child in her class the staff is very respectful of both children and families, not to say names, and ensure that they will keep extra care or eye on the matter. Within a day of having the conversation my daughter comes home and it appears that it isnt a problem any longer. My daughter has loved all of her teachers/staff members and talks about them frequently. I can tell how happy she is there. She has come leaps and bounds from where she was. Her vocabulary and speech has improved, she amazes me with her writing and drawings as well as her problem solving and social skills. In her age group they do Kindergarten club to prepare her for school, its something she looks forward to every week. After a year of attendance I truly consider the Cadence Academy Staff family. Theyre caring for and raising my child, all of our children. Its not an easy job and I couldnt be more appreciative of what they do day in, day out. Excited for my son to attend when he arrives in June. Thank you Cadence Academy!

My children (2) busy recently started attending this facility so far no complaints. All the staff I have came across seem to be very helpful, even the Director and Asst. Director seem to be hands on, which isnt what I have experienced with past daycares. They are helping my son transition very well. Thumbs up guys!

My 4 year old grandson went here for before & after school care for 3 weeks but we paid for 4 CASH. With no State assistance. Would not let us make up the week he was out sick. He was almost potty trained, but 75% of the time he was picked up with a FULL pull-up, EVEN after we talked to them over and over about it. He picked up very bad habits there as well. Language barrier was sometimes a issue or maybe they just used it as a excuse. Most staff did not speak english well.

My kids have been going here since they were infants, and the teachers and staff have always been great.I really like that they actually teach and educate the kids, its not just a fancy babysitter. Ive got kids in elementary school now, and they started with a leg up in kindergarten becasue of what they learned here.

Recently worked for this location & the unprofessional demeanor from the directors, specifically the assistant director is appalling. Name-calling and talking about concerns to other staff members. There is an extremely high turnover rate for a reason, if you can afford to send your child(ren) to a better facility that is better equipped, please do so. The lack of concern and professionalism is disgusting.
