I can not say enough good things about St Theresa. My son attends Kindergarten and amazes me from the first weeks in school reciting the most beautiful poems, singing songs in Latin, and teaching his little brother about God’s love.. It really feels like a small big family, we love to see Dr Newcomb- the principal- standing at the door every morning to greet each student- teachers are great and curriculum outstanding!

This school is the best when what you look for is effort to cultivate and develop real values, virtues and academic skills excellence.

When the school first opened, it showed great promise and a strong trajectory towards growth. However, despite being around for approximately 10 years, the reality is that the school still lacks multiple programs and amenities, such as a guidance counselor, social studies classes, a playground, cafeteria, computer lab, fine arts, an accelerated reading program, and a developed athletics program, to name a few. The leadership is extremely focused on building a classical Catholic education, but struggles to balance this with developing a well-rounded curriculum. It has also been made clear that they are maxed out on building space and that growth is difficult with this limitation.Although there are several strong teachers at STCS, the most concerning part of the curriculum at STCS is the lack of consistency among the grades. This may be due to constant staff turnover for a multitude of different reasons. Additionally, the childs homeroom teacher teaches most of the classes for each grade, so there is little variety when it comes to projects and assignments. The school does nothing to accommodate even minor learning needs. They are extremely rigid and value decorum over being flexible for a child that might need a little extra help in an area, stating that they are “not equipped” to handle it. They set high expectations for the child’s academic performance, yet provide little guidance of how the child can get there. If a student is struggling academically, instead of trying to help him/her get back on track, they are quick to place the blame on the child, household, or try to diagnose with the child with a learning or behavioral issue. The students at St. Theresa Catholic School are kind, bright, and respectful. Given the increasing tuition and high expectations for performance, they deserve to have a multitude of additional opportunities to express their creativity and apply their knowledge than what is currently offered.
