Great Beginnings has a wonderful staff, and a clean environment with lots of activities for your child. That said, the management seems a bit out of touch with their staff and the classroom needs. Much of their equipment needs replacing, but I do believe that the teachers themselves care about the children in their classroom. The policy on a sick Child was not upheld and was loosely regarded with my child, who had reached a temp greater than 102. When I asked the manager If I could take her home, they suggested she stay. I believe that this was to keep me working there that day. My child was also restrained in a high chair for what seemed to be the majority of the day, to The very end of it actually, I walked in to pick her up and she was dozing off. When I mentioned this to a coworker she said, Its probably the only place she isnt crying. This comment alone is a huge reason that I left. This may be some bad luck for us or an isolated incident, but I no longer felt comfortable working there let alone having my child in their care.

We have not had the best results here with our kids. The front desk is fairly rude and unorganized when it comes to payments.

My son was a student here for so many years and now he is on staff! He is now loving and caring for the children just how he was loved and cared for so many years by the teachers there. We transferred to Great Beginnings after safety scare at our previous daycare. I couldnt be happier with the move and can relax at work knowing my children are SAFE. When you walk into the buildings they are filled with bright colors, cheerful music & friendly faces. Its a great environment for a child to learn. The low turnover rate of teachers speaks great volume of the leadership at the facilities. My girls started in the 3s and infant rooms and they have loved every teacher along the way. We all understand that kids can be challenging at times but every report that is sent home is full of positive news. In cases where issues need to be addressed, the teachers work with the parents to develop the best course of action for the child to thrive. Ms. Amanda and Ms. Tia and the other teachers always have fun & challenging activities. I love receiving pictures and news blasts of the kids activities that keep them busy and focused throughout the day. They are learning so much. My oldest is now in the GA PreK program here and it is amazing how much she is learning. I would highly recommend Great Beginnings for anyone looking for a childcare center.

I have been working for my GB family for OVER 20 YEARS and counting! Great Beginnings has been a major part of my life, in all areas. I LOVE working here! I love working with all my co-workers, we all laugh together, cry together and offer support in hard times, they are a big part of my life. The center Director Charlotte ALWAYS available day or night as well as the owner of the company Jim, either work related or personal, they are always there for us. I know it sounds cliche but, we are truly a family here. With the low turn overs, its an easy environment to create that family atmosphere, and with all the little ones lives we come in contact with, they easily feel like our own. Great Beginnings of Sugar Hill is the perfect start to your childs life form 6 weeks to 14 years. If you are looking for personal, positive relationships in raising your little one, I can personally say this is the right place. We were taking our child to another facility thinking it was a good place for children. Another parent was leaving and suggested Great Beginnings as an alternative. We switched and we couldnt be happier. This place is phenomenal! Every staff member is like a family member. If you have ever heard the phrase It takes a village to raise a child., This is the village you want your child to be raised in. Everyone is actually interested in the well being of your child. They actually go out of their way to make your child feel welcome and safe. Tour this facility and see for yourself.

Great Beginnings has done a superb job in helping prepare our daughter for school. She has been attending GB since she was 1 year of age. The entire staff has shown genuine concern from day 1. They have helped us raise an intelligent child who loves learning. Our daughter is still at GB for after school care because we know that GB is the best place for her while we work. I love great beginnings the director really cares and knows my daughter name. She went the extra mile to make my family feel welcome and with me being in the military that says a lot about her. I really love my daughter teachers Ms. Amanda and Ms. Tia they really do an amazing job with the children. My children have been attending Great Beginnings for the past four years!! I cannot tell you how thrilled I am with our experience there. The staff is amazing, the director and owners are hands-on & helpful! I feel completely confident that while Im working, they are getting the love, attention and education that is the best of the best. We interviewed other schools but nothing compares!! Their teacher turnover rate is extremely low which is really important to me and my husband. I love that the same teachers who taught my oldest daughter are now taking care of my youngest! I have always been a little apprehensive about day care until my daughter started working and we had to find a day care that made us feel that the girls were being taken good care of.Well since we found Great Beginnings that is no longer a problem. I pick the girls up every day and quite often go in and talk with the staff and attend some of the functions that they let parents (and the grandparents) come to.It is very clean and extremely friendly. Also the best test is the girls love it.

Great Beginning made our life easier! As first time parents, both my husband and I were skeptical about sending our son to daycare! However, Great Beginnings made the transition smooth! Best daycare ever! Absolutely would not go anywhere else. Staff is incredibly helpful and always sweet. I love every single teacher my daughter has had there. We have been there for a year and I cannot imagine going anywhere else. It is truly like dropping your child off with an extended family. My neighbors go there as well for the Pre-K and I cannot wait until my daughter is in their program. They do all kinds of fields trips, activities, and have a speaker constantly for the kids. This school exceeds the standard daycare and goes above and beyond to make your child feel like they are at home. My daughter cant wait to go to school everyday and that is the best feeling ever. During these challenging times the staff has been supportive and goes above and beyond keeping the facility safe, clean, and supportive of both my pre-school child and After-care child. Thank you so very much. Looking forward to summer camp and continued relationship with the staff.Just over two years ago we left another daycare after multiple incidence showing lack of attention toward our child by the daycare teachers and front office staff. Great Beginnings in Sugar Hill came highly recommended by a fellow cloth diapering Mom and we made the appointment for a tour. We put a deposit down within the day of our visit and couldnt be happier with moving our child and now our second. The school has a welcoming environment, as well as all the staff who are incredibly friendly. As a working mom balancing a demanding full-time job and finding the right care for our kids, Great Beginnings was a blessing. The attention and investment we have seen in our kids has been incredible, as is the kindness, love and genuine care from all the staff. The teachers are able to recount so much of my childrens day, which indicates to me that they truly care for them and are being attentive. When time came for potty training our oldest child, Ms. Tia was there for us every step of the way. I felt confident leaving my infant with Ms. Toya and Ms. Rose and they worked with each of my requests when it came to her feeding and sleep schedule. We have had some struggles with our son in the 4-year-old class but the teacher and staff have worked with us and his developmental and behavior has improved greatly. Unlike the previous daycare, front office staff is always available and open to talk about any questions we may have. I would highly recommend Great Beginnings in Sugar Hill to anyone looking for a high-quality daycare.

We’ve been really happy this year having our girls attend great beginnings. Emerie is in the infant rooms and Ms.Sullie and all the teachers in there love on her and take great care of her. Karlie is in Ms. Tia’s class and Ms Tia really goes out of her way to write about Karlie’s day and what they are learning on every days sheet. Karlie loves when Ms. Tia puts ponytails in her hair! It’s really hard to be full time working parents and being away from the kiddos all day but it does pay to have peace of mind and having our girls at great beginnings has been a great experience for all of us!!

I pick up my nephew twice a week. The staff always have a smile. They are friendly and helpful everytime. I will definitely recommend this daycare to friends.

Where do I start?We chose to come to Great Beginnings after having a bad experience at a different day care. They have always held their arms wide open and made the transition seamless. As a parent, you want to make sure that you feel safe with where you leave your children all day, Great Beginnings has filled this void for us. From the warm welcomes in the morning, to the daily updates from the teachers. You can tell that they truly love what they do! Our teacher Amanda even has a Shutterfly account set up so we can see posts of pictures and upcoming events! Their communication is outstanding and we always feel in the know about what is going on. As first time parents sending our baby to daycare was something we knew had to be done but were very nervous about. Great Beginnings was referred to us by a neighbor and it was best referral ever. From day 1 they treated our little one like she was theirs. They even let us call the baby room to her her coo and laugh while we at work to put our minds at ease. That was 5 1/2 years ago and now with 2 children in their care with have a relationship of trust, comfort and will refer Great Beginnings to all we meet. The staff are very friendly, courteous and truly care for our children. I can honestly say they have been GREAT from the BEGINNING.

I have found a great place where my child can feel safe and not just a number. The staff is very professional and caters to our needs. Jackie is sufficient with a pleasant and gracious attitude which shows she loves her job and the people around her. I give this Center a 5 Star ratings.

I am extremely pleased with this school. I read some of the reviews before we went to visit the facility and I see why they have such nice reviews! From the minute we came inside the school we were meet with warm smiles from the director Charlotte and the owner Jim. Our 3 yr old is learning so much since she started. She can count in three languages thanks to Ms Tia and she can even recite the Pledge of allegiance! I was surprised to know that most of the staff has been there for 6 years or longer! We highly recommend this school! We love it!

Great Beginnings of Sugar Hill has been our daycare provider since our 4-year old son was 12 weeks old. I have been extremely pleased with all of the employees there; administrative, classroom teachers, after-school teachers, and cafeteria staff (or Miss Heidis Restaurant as my son calls it). My son was potty-trained within a week thanks to one of his teachers and has learned many other things to help prepare him for kindergarten. The family feeling you get at Great Beginnings is just that, they make you feel like part of their family from Day 1. Thank you, Great Beginnings, for giving me the peace of mind that my child is well taken care of, learning new things each day, and having fun while I am at work.

My son started out going to another school at the beginning of last year and we had a horrible experience at that pre k school he was attending, I then called great beginning in March and switched him and he was put in Mrs. Christine’s class, I have to say by far the best school my son had attended, in just a week he learned sooo much, I was amazed, I love this school, had some down side with the other building at administration (daycare/front office) and when registration started for last year, I was the first one to register, I know this because my sons name was the first one on the list and I didn’t get called, I also left messages for the manager/director but she never called me back, according the lady, she put a sticky note on her door but they never called me! I also fell into some trouble with ms Patty over providing my food stamp letter which I had done several times and for some reason, they would never receive it, when the other daycare only asked for my sons Medicaid card, she wanted a food stamp letter that had to have his name on it and with specific dates that she wanted on there, which I had sent previously because the lady from DFCAS personally sent it to me through email and it was not sufficient for ms patty and i had sent it before but was never given to her, so I had a balance starting fromMarch to May but was resolved after the 3rd time the letter was provided but for her, it was never received or was not the right one and was very rude about it but besides that, education wise, I loved it! I then called back in March to see if they had a spot and they did! My son loves his class and Mrs Christine!!! I highly recommend this school and I truly hope my daughter who will be in pre-K next year gets in this school! Just seeing how much my son learned in such period of time, was amazing and I was soo happy! Thank you great beginnings!!!!

If you want to get sent home with your toddler for bringing her in the afternoon, this is the place to go.I brought my daughter in around 11.57am, only to be sent home with her because the director claimed it was nap time and my daughter would disrupt the process! No empathy, no skill of understanding or even the basic responsibility of a day care was shown. Also, if you want to get scare calls every time about your kid, this is the place to go.

After touring what felt like hundreds of day cares, we stumbled upon Great Beginnings of Sugar Hill. I was touring another school when I was told when you find into the right place you will just know it…it will FEEL right it didn’t get it until I walked through the doors of Great Beginnings. It was late in the day (the craziest time possible) when we came in unannounced for a tour. They took the time to speak with me and fawn over my little one. We met what would become his first teacher and the director along with one of the owners. Even a proud parent stopped to chat with me about her experience with the school. I left for home that day knowing that this was the that ‘right place’ and that this was where my new little son would spend his 9-5’s.Great Beginnings worked with my family to ensure a smooth transition for all of us...they even offered to give us a trial run letting me bring my son in for a few hours, basically to ease me into the process of separating from my child, as a first time mommy…this was priceless. I feel as though after 1.5yrs, each of our son’s teachers have made an impact in my son’s life, and I know without a doubt that they genuinely love him!Great Beginnings is just a special place with wonderful, caring people, without hesitation I recommend you give them a tour (talk to parents whenever possible when you tour facilities). We went to this daycare when we first moved from the previous county we were in, their was this one nice young lady that showed us around the camp on the very first day but we only went to that camp the first time it was a week because we had to go stay with our dad until we went back to school, and then we officially went for the before and after school program but then summer of 2007 we spent the day there 5 days a week and we went on feild trips sometimes, had activities. But when it was time for school to start, my twin was going to middle school and I was in 5th grade that time, sadly we had to leave the place for good. I guess my mom didnt want to leave me there by myself plus that was my first time riding the regular school bus morning and afternoon. I really miss that place, everyone there was really friendly but not some people.

Greatest daycare ever! We love the teachers and the staff. They provide a very nurturing.and.safe environment for our child.

I put off looking for daycares for as long as possible because I couldn’t imagine leaving my newborn son in the hands of strangers. Eventually it was near time for me to return to work so I began touring daycares that were in my area and price range. I was deeply disappointed with my first two encounters. Great Beginnings was slightly higher than my original budget of $200/week but their website looked good so I decided to take a tour. As it turns out, they give a discount if you pay monthly so that brought the tuition down below my budgeted amount! More important than the money though is the experience and quality of care. I visited twice unannounced before our “move in day” and I was very impressed by how HAPPY all of the children were. At the other places I toured kids were running around everywhere and some were crying; here they were all calm and either playing, eating, or sleeping. Every day when I walk in it is brightly lit, smells wonderful and has upbeat music playing. They are also very secure. There is a key pad on the front door, and another key pad to get to the infant area. The other daycares I toured had all of the children in one area, but here they separate the infants by 0-6, and then 6-12, and they do not allow older kids in the infant area at all. That puts my mind at ease that my baby is not being exposed to a lot of older kid’s germs. The caregivers are very competent and experienced. The Infant room teacher, Ms. Rose, has been there for over 18 years and man, she is a pro! I have seen her multi task with several babies at once and still carry on a conversation! I know that my baby likes it at Great Beginnings because he never cries when I leave and is never crying when my husband picks him up. He’s only four months old but will let you know when he is unhappy with a situation. I had heard so many daycare horror stories of babies being hoarse from crying all day or coming home with blistering diaper rashes that I was terrified to put him in daycare, but we have not experienced anything like that with Great Beginnings. This is my first daycare experience and it has definitely been a positive one. I look forward to seeing my son grow up here with his cohort of peers and plan to keep him here until he’s old enough to stay home alone. I highly recommend this facility!

I love this school. Since Saenyah has started, she has learned her colors, and shapes and you can tell that she is really learning things here, not just a babysitting daycare. Mrs. Alicia, Mrs. Jackie are the best. Thanks Great Beginnings.

Great Beginnings is hands down the best child care center in Sugarhill. I worked there from 2010 until 2016 and it was the best experience Ive ever had. From the afterschool activities to the summer camp program, Great Beginnings is the best place for you to take your kids. All of the teachers there work really hard to make sure the kids have something to do during the day. The media center, I feel, is everyones favorite space. During afterschool every child who had homework, online work, or just needed a tutoring session could come in and have a quiet place to focus on their work. I just dont think any school in that area holds a candle to Great Beginnings and their staff, especially the director Mrs. Charlotte.

We started our oldest at Great Beginnings in spring 2009 and have been there ever since. The thing I love most about them is that there is such little turnover in the teachers- this means management is doing something right and the teachers are happy. When you have happy teachers, you have happy children (which makes happy parents!). They all truly care about the well-being of our kids and theyve become somewhat of an extended family for us. In particular, Ms. Savi, Ms. Tia, and Ms. Jennifer (4A) have made such a difference in our childrens lives and, therefore, in ours as well. Weve referred at least 5 other families to the facility and theyve all been happy with the center as well. My oldest went through the pre-K program and was properly prepared for the kindergarten year that followed. My youngest will start the pre-K program in the fall of this year and we are excited to see what the program will bring to him as well. I highly recommend Great Beginnings of Sugar Hill!

We have two children that attend Great Beginnings. My husband and I are extremely pleased to say the least to have found such a wonderful school. We moved to Buford, two years ago and were concerned with finding the right place and learning environment for our children one of which has special needs.Great Beginnings is staffed by caring, kind and loving teachers. We have witnessed our children blossom both academically and socially under the care of the teachers at Great Beginnings. Every morning when we drop our children off and pick them up in the evening they have smiles on their little faces which put us at ease.Ms. Savitri Arjoon specifically is my son’s teacher who from day one has gone above and beyond the call of duty. She is patient, kind and has creative and fun activities for her students to better connect with learning. Not only does Ms. Savitri go above and beyond with our son but also makes suggestions on how my husband and I can create stimulating activities at home to make for a better home learning environment.Thank you to the entire Great Beginnings team!Derek & Nina Burke

They can keep their 25$ dollar credit cause I really have nothing good to say about those gossipy so called professional women, you know who you are and you should be ashamed of yourselves for judging others. Stay in your lane and dont worry about my parenting our children are clean, healthy and happy. Please just do what we pay you for and that is to teach and guide our children, leave all your baggage at home because our children are like sponges and can hear what your teachers say. Who do yo think they come home and tell? Personally Ive had enough of this daycare and am in the process of changing schools. No wonder they have to pay us to write a good review, Jim the owner avoids me like the plague, but i couldnt care less thats their stuff not mine. I have heard the same stories from former clients who had there children enrolled there. We love Great Beginnings! We moved to the area from out of state not knowing anyone. The first preschool and daycare that we tried was awful. My husband found Great Beginnings online and we went in for a tour. We new immediately this was the place for our kids!Seeing Great Beginnings makes you want to send your kids there. But the teachers are what make this place amazing. In the year and half that we have been at Great Beginnings, I have not seen any turnover in their staff. The teachers are there because they want to be there and they truly love children. Many of the teachers have been at the center for several years. A lot of childcare places have high school age teachers and experience a lot of turnover. My kids get so attached to their teachers that when the teacher leaves it breaks their heart. I havent had to worry about that here!The facilities are neat and very clean. The whole place is built and decorated with children in mind. The parking lot is a very good size, so getting in and out in the morning is pretty easy. The preschool building for the littler kids requires a personal code to get in, adding the extra level of safety. There are several outdoor play ground areas for different ages. The big toys outside are in good condition and are fun. Each classroom also has age appropriate toys and many different learning centers. Classrooms for each age are large and have bathrooms in the rooms for the little ones. My daughter started Pre-K here and loves it! She also participates in a tap & ballet class once a week onsite, making it easy for us working parents!Great Beginnings is not just for the little ones. School age children love it here! The field trips they take in the summer are awesome! The bif kids arent just sitting around all summer watching TV. At least twice a week they go on a field trips that make me jealous at a very reasonable cost.We are moving out of state again at the end of the month and it makes me so sad to be leaving the school. Its more than just a daycare and preschool, they feel like part of the family. We were lucky to have been able to share our children with them.

I love Great Beginnings ... My son speaks Spanish and they placed him with a teacher who speaks Spanish so that the transition to English is gradual. They are all very friendly and care a lot about the well-being of the children ... It is a very pleasant environment and our son has been adapting little by little.
