Putting our son into the care of others wasnt easy. Luckily for us we found Tutor Time in Shelton. We placed my son in their care at three months old when my maternity leave ended, and weve been extremely happy with them for the last several years. He thrives there, learning something new every day. He comes home happy and is excited each morning to see his teachers and friends. The staff is lovely, professional and I feel so comfortable leaving my son there knowing hell be well cared for. The school is clean and bright with lots of learning and fun around every corner. I highly recommend this center to any parent who wants the peace of mind knowing their child is receiving reliable care while their education is being enhanced and where their social skills will thrive. From the management team of Sarah and Alex to each Teacher, specifically Ms. Lori, Ms. Christine, Ms. Mikayla, Ms. Jane and so many other wonderful educators, I know my child is in excellent hands. They are extremely accommodating and responsive, and always ready to help, answer questions and lend a hand when needed. I wish there was more stars to give.

The one of the hardest decisions I have had to make was sending my daughter to daycare. From my tour of the school to the first day my daughter started at the center, the staff has been wonderful. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. They made this transition very easy for me and my daughter. Every morning my daughter wakes up and says time for school. She loves Tutor time. The videos and picture throughout the day are very reassuring for nervous parents. I couldnt ask for a better daycare center.

My experience at Tutor Time has been excellent since day one. My daughter was home with me for 2 years so when I was looking to start her I knew I needed to find a place that would meet my high expectations. Tutor Time has gone above and beyond all of those expectations. The directors, Stacey and Christine, are kind and are always available if you have a question or concern. The teachers in her room are warm, loving, energetic and so much fun. She loves going to school and talks about her friends and teachers daily. My daughter just turned 2 when she started at Tutor Time and was not speaking in full sentences on a general basis and needed some guidance in the toddler basics: colors, shapes and sharing. I can honestly say she has come so far in just the few months she has been in her class. She carries on clear conversations with us at home and her teachers during the day. The amount of knowledge she has gained with her teachers and friends continues to astound me every day.On a personal level I know that they watch out for her just as I would at home. There have been a few instances where she as not acted like herself and they recognize that in the class. They are always quick to notice when they feel something is off and will call if there is any concern. I truly appreciate their level attention to her and I know to them she is not just another kid.Tutor Time is a wonderful place to send your child, I am so happy that my little girl gets to spend her day around such wonderful individuals.

Update: 12/5/6, unfortunately, as time went on, I noticed the extremely high turnover rate. The only great thing about the school that kept my son there was Ms. Christine. High turnover rate means teachers are not paid or treated right. Please invest in your teachers and provide them the tools they need.************************************************Tutor Time in Shelton CT gets 5 stars from me because my son always raves about his teachers, and hes come home many times saying, I love Miss Christine, shes nice (his words). If hes happy, then of course Im happy. I enrolled him back in 2014 under their flex care plan, which at the time was a tremendous help for me since I only needed care on an as-needed basis, and was not ready to enroll him into day care full time. Tutor Time in Shelton was the only daycare facility that offered this. I decided to enroll him part-time after I saw that his social skills were improving. Since being enrolled part-time, his social skills have continued to improve, they have also helped greatly with boosting his confidence, and independence, and Im amazed by all the things he learns, absorbs, and takes home with him. In addition to that, I take comfort in the fact that their facility seems very secure - finger print for entry, and sign in and sign out with a code for each parent. They have a great open door policy. I was a first time mom and when I first started taking my son there, I would stop by or call to see how he was doing, and I would express any concern I may have, they are always very kind and understanding. I do notice at times that the teachers are sometimes overwhelmed, and really I hope that they are made aware by upper management/corporate of how I and Im sure all of the other parents appreciate them and the care they provide for our kids daily. Stability in a daycare facility is also a big deal for me, and for the past 2 years that my son has been there, I am glad to see the same main teachers still there and hope they dont go anywhere anytime soon.

My daughter has been attending Tutor Time, Shelton for a year now. I am struck by the welcome we received as a family by everyone at this facility. We were made extremely comfortable from the first day and we continue to be thrilled every day. From the security measures to the caliber of the teaching staff to the attention to detail, there is never any lapse. The staff is always pleasant and the children are always their number one priority. We have experience with another child care facility and I can honestly say that Tutor Time, in all aspects, exceeded our expectations based on our past experience. We would highly recommend Tutor Time, Shelton to anyone with children from newborn to school age. Thanks!!!!!

Prior to having a child of my own I worked in a daycare and swore that I would NEVER send my child to one. Unfortunately, I was not able to stay home with my son. Now, I believe that sending him to Tutor Time in Shelton is the best thing we could have done.Shortly after placing our son in Tutor Time he was diagnosed with a mild form of cerebral palsy. After his diagnosis, I worried that I would have to find a different means of child care.To my surprise, the Director Stacy eased my fears immediately and assured me that our son could stay and they welcomed the opportunity to work with him.The Co-Director Christine continues to work with me as my sons schedule changes weekly. There was a time when I would call everyday to check on him, and his teacher was always extremely friendly would informed me of his day.I am impressed with how friendly all of the teachers are and how they take in interest in each child. Some of the teachers have never had my son in their class and they know him and have something nice to say.I would like to mention that my son was not even crawling when he started. Now he is walking, jumping, feeding himself, he counts in Spanish, he is learning how use the potty, his vocabulary and manners continue to surprise me every day. As a working parent I would like to take credit for all of that, but I know that many of these things the teachers, at Tutor Time helped with.My son wakes up in the morning and is excited to go to school. He loves his teacher and his friends. As a mom knowing your child is happy and you made the right decision is priceless.I have and continue to recommend Tutor Time Shelton to any parent who would like their child in a loving, nurturing environment, where they are exposed to all types of activities and where all children are welcome and belong. As they say, it takes a village to raise a child and I am grateful to have Tutor Time Shelton as a part of ours.

I have a 2 year old and a 4 year who have both been going to Tutor Time Shelton since they were 5 months old, and I couldnt be happier with the care they have received. The staff are friendly, helpful and always willing to discuss any concern I have ever had. The directors and many of the teachers have been there since the doors opened, so they are very knowledgeable about the programs and extremely skilled in taking care of small children. Most importantly, they also truly care about my daughters and go above and beyond each day to meet their needs.Selecting a daycare is one of the first big decisions you make in your childs life and I have never regretted choosing Tutor Time Shelton. Each classroom and lesson is designed for a specific developmental group and once a child passes certain milestones, they are moved up to the next room. This educational philosophy supports their growth and allows them to be with other children at the same level. My daughters have both excelled in this environment not only academically but socially as well. They have made friends with the other children in their class and always surprise me with the new songs they can sing, art projects they make, or objects they can identify and describe.Overall it is the staff that make Tutor Time Shelton so great. You can find other daycares with similar educational viewpoints, but if the teachers and directors arent approachable and competent, you and your child will not have a successful daycare experience. So thank you to Stacy, Christine, Megan, Emma, Belitza, Rachel and all the other teachers for helping me raise my children into the wonderful little girls they are today.

My husband and I are extremely happy with the day care services and pre-school at the Tutor Time in Shelton, CT. When our daughter turned three, we felt it was in her best interest to remove her from another daycare chain (down the road). When we toured Tutor Time we found that the environment was clean, safe, and most importantly happy and positive. And all of this was not just for show, but that is how it is every day. The building is very secure, there is always someone at the front desk, and every room is cleaned at the end of the day. The staff is always helpful, friendly and positive, and caring towards all the children. Our daughter likes her routine and we were concerned how she would react and handle the change of a new place, teachers and friends. Well, I am thrilled to say that my daughter has LOVED it from the moment she started. She has now been at Tutor Time for well over a year, and I can truly say that she has blossomed into such a happy, out-going, independent, and smart little girl. When she skips into the building in the morning she is greeted by any teacher that sees her and quite often she runs to give them a hug. She absolutely LOVES her school and all of the teachers and management because they are ALL great people. Most of all, my daughter absolutely adores and loves her teacher Miss Emma (she has been with her the entire time). I believe that Miss Emma is a real gem and a wonderful teacher. My daughter has learned so much from her and I am forever grateful. In addition, several months ago they added Miss Christine to co-teach in the room, and both teachers have worked wonderfully together. After my previous experience with another daycare facility, I can highly recommend Tutor Time Shelton for their professionalism, educational curriculum, learning environment, and their staff!

The school has a great curriculum, security, teachers and facilities. The teachers are very hard working and loving towards kids and the staff at front desk is friendly and professional. What bothers me about this place is the insecurity about enrollment, which in turn results in teachers holding kids back in their classes, getting the kids to make requests to parents to hold them back, and shooting comments at parents. I have walked into a class and heard teachers cribbing about a parent. I used to think I am over thinking situations but in talking to other parents realized that they experienced the same thing! The teachers disappear for weeks at a time because of poor enrollment and when they return the pressure on parents comes in go full time or you shouldnt be so possessive, bring your baby into daycare you are just being insecure as a mom you have to be sensitive to your child you know, abc isnt ready to go to the next class yet I dont know what they do in the lower class (in the same school btw), but we work very hard I think your kid doesnt like the other teacher, maybe she will get used to the teacher over time. Why dont you transfer your kid over to my class, she gets along pretty well with me All our friends have shared these experiences. This school needs to reassure their teachers, pay them well and give them incentives so that we dont have crabby teachers after teacher appreciation week.Hand picked flowers, home made treats, hand drawn cards and poems mean zilch if you dont give them a decent gift card. Its ridiculous! Gossip travels quickly, a parent that was friendly to many teachers suddenly is the black sheep. One of our friends moved out last year and the teachers had the nerve to advise them to not spend on a new house, disrupt their kids lives and not choose to move closer to work just to be able to spend more quality time together. Are you freaking kidding me?! Their enrollment and pay issues are spilling over to other peoples lives.I am glad my kids no longer go to this school.

As a full-time working mom, leaving my daughter in someone elses care every morning is one of the hardest things I have had to do. It’s a feeling I am sure I share with many other working moms. Thanks to the various teachers and staff at Tutor Time in Shelton, CT, I feel a sense of reassurance about leaving my daughter because I know she is in the hands of caring professionals who cherish her.I highly recommend Tutor Time, Shelton, CT for a variety of reasons. My daughter has been going to Tutor Time, Shelton since she was 4 months old. As a first-time mom, there were many characteristics I was looking for in a child care facility. It was extremely important to me to choose a facility where we both felt welcome, and like we were part of a bigger family. In addition to this, qualities such as caregivers with a broad range of experience; a center with a low turnover rate; and a safe, educational environment where my daughter could thrive, both socially and developmentally, were all on the top of my list. My daughter has now been at Tutor Time for 8 months and the center has either met or exceeded all of these expectations. The director, Cara, assistant director, Alex, and all my daughter’s various teachers (very special thanks to Ms. Terri, Ms. Lori, Ms. Jaime, and Ms. Mikayla) have been fantastic, and our day-care experience with the Tutor Time facility in Shelton, CT can truly be summed up as “our home away from home”. Our daughter is being cared for by people that truly love her and want to see her succeed in life.A few of the other expectations that have been truly surpassed by the center are in the areas of affordability, flexibility, and communication. Among other centers in the area, Tutor Time not only provides top notch care, but they also strive to make it affordable to the average family. Additionally, as someone who works for a flexible corporation, Tutor Time has been able to work around my flexible schedule by allowing me to utilize care for 3 days per week, and then eventually transitioning up to 4 days a week, as well as, the occasional Friday. Many other centers do not offer this flexibility – it is either 5 days or none. Cara, the Director, has been paramount in managing this flexibility, as well as, providing all parents with up-to-date communication, in areas such as changes to staff, upcoming events that the center is providing, and important memos pertaining to safety & education. Also, in terms of communication, the entire staff at Tutor Time have been fantastic about keeping us up-to-date on the highlights of our daughter’s days, sharing her funny moments, latest achievements, and fun with her friends. In fact, one of my favorite features that the center offers is an app called “Brightwheel”. This app provides information on basically every move your child makes throughout the day. It gives you information on when/how much they eat, when they nap (or don’t nap 😊), when they are changed, and mood changes, such as happy or cranky moments. The app is managed by her teachers, and it always provides daily updates on all the things she is experiencing and learning throughout the day, as well as, various milestones she hits. The fact that we can “follow along with her” all day via this app is such an added bonus, and ensures that you aren’t missing a moment in your child’s life. I honestly do not know what I do without it. Her teachers always make sure to send us texts and photos when they know its a moment we wouldnt want to miss. Their messages brighten my day, make me laugh, and help me feel that even though were apart, Im still with my daughter somehow. Im so grateful to the staff at Tutor Time for helping us give our girl such a great start in life, and for including us in the moments we would otherwise miss out on.
