1:1 lesson is really the way to go for kids to learn how to swim. I have 3 boys learning how to swim currently and I love their established curriculum as well as all their instructors who are all very good with kids and teaching them how to swim. I also appreciate their transparent scheduling system and very organized manner that the whole program is ran which can only result from staff who are dedicated and experienced in the business. I plan on getting the boys in the program until they are swim team ready.

It was a really fun experience. I got my lifeguarding certification, and the instructors taught us everything really well and efficiently. Sam was a very informative instructor, and Brian was very helpful during the pool section of the lessons. I learned a lot, and I am very grateful to the staff for teaching us and helping to get my certification!

We are so grateful S&S is open during this crazy time. Having a safe, healthy outlet for my son has been truly wonderful. The instructors are amazing. They seem to provide the right level of encouragement to help my son achieve his goals. Its been fun to watch his progression and overall water confidence grow.

All of your instructors that we have worked with have been wonderful with my son. He has been progressing and I just love watching his lessons. I cannot thank you all enough for how patient and kind you are with all the kids. Also thank you for finding a way to be open safely during this pandemic!

They have done a phenomenal job of creating a COVID safe environment. My 3 and 4 year old are fully swimming on their own after 3 months of bi-weekly 15 min lessons. Great positive, encouraging environment for children amongst the uncertainty of our world right now. Our lives are richer because of our relationship with Safe n Sound.

Safe N Sound does a great job of allowing for busy parents to schedule a swim lesson online, everything at the pool moves smoothly, the instructors are great, and I actually find the 15 minute lessons to be a perfect length for my 5 year old child. The employee that is at the pool in case there are any questions or concerns is always really helpful.

Went for the first time with our 4 year old. The instructors were great, and they made us very comfortable with precautions theyre taking with COVID, including masks for the in-water teachers, social distancing, etc. And nevermind that, our kid had a blast and seemed like he learned a lot in his first time swimming in a long time.

They are great with the kids and are always so helpful to dial in the scheduling. Sure its loud in there, but the one on one has been super helpful for my 7 year old to learn to focus past the sounds and activities of every one around him. He struggles with focusing and over stimulation of sounds but this place has help sensitize him to let go of what is around him and focus on what it right in front of him. He has learn a lot in the swim lesson and we are very happy to see his progress. Plus if we get there early he can warm up by playing in the play swim section before and after our lesson!

I thought that Safe and Sounds reputation among Seattle parents must be exaggerated in some way, but... our daughters first class was exceptional and confidence-inspiring! From tears and fears in the hour before the lesson... to smiles after 5 minutes in the water. I can tell already that the philosophy and approach of Safe and Sound is the right one for our girls, and for safe swimming.

Ian is an excellent swim instructor, he has managed to turn our son into a lover of water who looks forward to swimming at the pool (he used to be scared). Ian has a gift for making kiddos at ease, knows how to engage with them, relax them, and has infinite patience for teaching swimming. The results are there, regular progress in swim skills and an activity we look forward to every week. Thank you Ian for teaching our kiddo such a valuable life skill!

One-on-one 15 minute long lessons with very attentive and supportive instructors. Highly recommended for younger kids learning to swim. The lessons arent cheap, but theyll definitely get results. The wait-list to get a regular recurring weekend lesson time slot is pretty long (at least a few months). But you can schedule lessons one at a time as space permits until you get a regular lesson time.

I like that theres lots of availability and no assessment requirement. I have 2 boys, who each had a lesson yesterday with 2 different instructors and I liked both of them. Great job guys! Also, the free-swim area off to the side is a hit!

This CPR and Lifesaving review class was both thorough and informative. Was a great mix of in class learning and water and hands on learning and practice. Great to learn the updates that have been made to the rescues and feel very confident now with the training I received. !! Thanks Kyle and Kyle. You both did a great job 👍👍

My kid loves it. consistency is key for learning. In the almost 2 years hes been going, weve changed instructors 3 times. On occasion instructors may be out and theyll switch it up. If you go there as frequently as we do (weekly) theyll get to know your kiddo and do a nice hand off for a new instructor or sub. Scheduling is tricky, again its best to be consistent. Its very busy, of course being working parents we can only do Saturdays. Thats their busiest day, by far. My only gripe is parking and location. My kid has learned lots and is more confident swimming independently now that hes been going for some time now.

My daughter loves this place and is progressing very quickly. It is noisy, but no more than any indoor pool during instructions. It does not really bother me. At first I did not like the free swim area, because its too deep for a 4 year old and she still cannot stand there, however I think this helped her to start swimming. Ideally, I would want the free swim area to be bigger, or a separate pool, since she spends 30 minutes there (15 min before and after the class), while only 15 minutes with instructor.

I have three kids taking lessons here, and I am pleased with how well they are progressing with their swimming lessons. All three (very different kids ages 3,5,6) love their lessons and claim swimming as one of their favorite activities. One child has really thrived with the individual attention, where she was unable to focus in the group lessons offered at the city pools. My youngest child has some sensory difficulty, and so the initial lessons were challenging for him, but, i was impressed with the patience and the persistence of the instructors. He has grown a lot during his time there.I feel like the classes are expensive, but when i compared them to the group lessons at the city pools, the $ / minute of attention really is the same. My kids work for 15 minutes straight, whereas they used to spend 22 of their 30 minutes standing next to the wall getting cold. They come out energized and happy.I also wish the facilities were better, with easier access and parking, but, I havent found any alternatives and that speaks to the rarity of extraordinary pool space. The two older girls did the swim camp there this summer, learned a lot and progressed a lot, and absolutely loved it. They will do it again next summer. Some of the reviews below reference old practices in the school - the way that you sign up for lessons and the payment schedule is different than it used to be, and I suspect that some of the difficulties would not arise under the new program.

My kids learned to swim with safe n sound, from being afraid of water to completing all levels. 90% of teachers are great. The 10% left are cases where teaching approach didnt match with my kids but likely can work with others. Front of house staff/supervisors incredibly helpful and kind. All in all, a great experience and was the highlight of my kids week for 3 years. We tried other places before, so we had a benchmark in mind when we started and can say that SnS for sure is the best option in Seattle. Not cheap but well worth the cost.So why did we leave after 3 years? We moved across the ocean to Europe... otherwise would for sure continue with the lessons at SnS.

I have excellent experience my 4 and 5yr olds with SNS. Just like any schools, parents must be pro active to see their child(ren)s responses and progressions with different instructors. I was able to find the right ones for both kids. Theyve excelled their swimming skills tremendously and now very comfortable to be in the water. Given the math, 1 on 1 time in the water vs $$ spent, its the most value for your $$.
