A school that will prepare your future dancer for a professional career in classical ballet. I attended SSB for 11 years and received some of the best training in the world. I have gone on to attend summer programs and launched into the real world where I too have been able to stand out amongst the “name-brand” schools. Sometimes intimacy is better, and in the small class sizes, your dancer will receive the training necessary to achieve their goals. Everyone is held to the same high standards. The dancers are kind and the environment is very friendly.

Scottsdale School of Ballet provides the highest quality dance instruction and professional training that I have ever experienced! This classical ballet school provides a beautiful traditional ballet foundation with small individualized class sizes, one-on-one instruction, a positive and encouraging learning environment, and a community of dancers that genuinely care for each other! This is by far the best ballet school in Arizona that will prepare the dancer for the professional world, prestigious summer intensive programs, and most importantly, a love of dance!!

What a fine ballet school this is! As a professional ballet accompanist for over 40 years, I have been associated with countless ballet studios throughout California and Arizona. Scottsdale School of Ballet is one of the finest schools in Arizona. Every class is like a master class, with hands on training which creates beautiful lines and great technique. I have known Donald and Sibylle personally for over 20 years, and they are true artists and amazing coaches!!

My daughter attends ballet here and loves dancing here. She is challenged while learning technique in a way thats simple and easy for her to understand at 10. She says she never wants to dance elsewhere as she says she feels its where she belongs and the space feels positive and energetic to her.

We have been around the ballet community for many years and have specific needs for our ballerina. The school must focus on a classic ballet instruction, not on competition. We like the environment to foster an encouraging attitude not competitive. It must be close since I commute my ballerina daily. SSB checked all of our boxes when we moved to the N Scottsdale area last summer. If you want to see a quality school I highly recommend checking either of the 2 annual performances. Nutcracker in December and the spring performances in May at Herberger Theater in Phoenix.

My daughter just performed in the season-ending performance, such beautiful choreography and showcase of all the students talents. She is excited to return for the summer program. She has been attending SSB three years and we have seen her blossom as a dance student and performer. The opportunity for excellence is profound without excessive pressure of competition. Thank you SSB!!

So happy we found this school! My daughter has benefited far beyond stellar classical dance instruction the past three years - shes 11. She is confident, self-disciplined, respectful and mindful. I attribute alot of this to the discipline (firm but kind) and accountability at the studio. Also, our class - and the others I have observed are very friendly. The girls are supportive of one another- highly encouraged by staff. If you have high expectations of a dance studio, they will be surpassed at SSB. Top recommendation for non-competitive classical ballet in AZ.

My daughter has been at the Scottsdale School of Ballet since she was 4 years old, she is now in level 1, and choosing SSB was the best decision we made. The teachers and founders are very serious, committed to the students and love what they do.

Classical ballet, smaller classes and incredible instructors. There is no other ballet school in the valley which offers this like Scottsdale School of Ballet does.

SSB is wonderful! My daughter has been with Scottsdale School of Ballet for one year now, and has improved immensely. Their emphasis on technique, building strength and classical ballet has made her a much better dancer. The classes are small and the students all support one another...there is no overt competitiveness like I have seen elsewhere. The Dadeys are strict but not overly so, and support the student through the learning process. When my daughter needed extra, the Dadeys worked with me to get her the private lessons she needed. My daughter is so happy at SSB.

Scottsdale School of Ballet is one of the few “Ballet Schools” in Arizona whose primary focus is ballet. The Directors, Mr. Dadey and Ms. Sibylle Acatos Dadey, bring a wealth of experience, passion and dedication to the training of their students. Their resumes are impressive, having worked with many of the great dancers and choreographers of the time.Although Scottsdale School of Ballet is a school for dancers of all levels of interest, it’s important to know the staff trains the students for a career in ballet. They don’t compromise their training to accommodate the latest, “fad”.As a parent of two daughters who trained for many years at Scottsdale School of Ballet, they not only became accomplished ballerinas, but learned time management, how to stay focused, gained physical and mental strength and tolerance; important qualities that have helped them become confident young adults.
