Great place to learn tae kwon doe and fantastic instructors. I was a student there and was just looking for a start in that. However when I wanted to quit and attend a different place, the gave me an account freeze form. This means that you freeze your account from one point to another. However I wanted to QUIT. Not pause. After this, I attended one more class and realized that I really didn’t learn a whole lot from the experience. Overall they could have taught me more. Nice people however could be presented better.

We love the institute and Master Walker. All the instructors are great! Its a smallish, personal feel, and they treat the students like family. And the training has been excellent for my son. He looks forward to every day that he can go to class.

What a great experience for my son! We love all the wisdom imparted along with the skill and techniques of Tae Kwon Do. Not only is the teaching fantastic for the mind and body, but there is a lot of heart thrown in. Master Walkers grounded centered presence creates such a welcoming atmosphere and he is amazing with kids of all ages. They care how your child is doing in school and at home, and help to instill the qualities of being a good human being along with increasing your physical skills. Perfect for kids and adults!

I have been studying Tai Chi Chuan at the Martial Arts Institute (Tai Chi Chuan Institute) for the past 6 months and recommend it in the highest possible terms. It has been in Santa Fe under the direction Grand Master Daniel Walker for over 30 years, who is an internationally known master not only in Tai Chi Chuan, but also Tae Kwan Do and Hapkido. It is important to note that he offers classes in all 3, and I have seen many classes with young children having a great time learning martial arts. Grand Master Walker is a wonderful, patient, and very perceptive teacher, and his happy and serene energy fills the Institute. Indeed, the energy there is remarkable! It is like a little oasis in the middle of Santa Fe.

I was a former student here, studying Taekwondo around 2010-2011. Instructor Walker was an incredible teacher and never hesitated to aid me or anyone else when studying to graduate to a new belt.

I have been a student of Grandmaster Walker for a few months shy of 30 years. His role as an instructor has been an instrumental part of changing and shaping my life for the better. Over the years I have seen him not only be an active role model for all of his students, but have seen his unparalleled teaching techniques only get better with time. His dojang is very personable and welcoming, focusing on character development and physical fitness first with martial arts second. This order is very important, as every single student will use the character development skills and healthy lifestyle habits learned from him and his staff on a daily basis for a lifetime. Martial arts and self-defense are rarely needed, especially when a student has high moral character, confidence, respect, and situational awareness...all taught at his dojang. Martial Arts serves as a very effective vehicle to help instill all of the positive character traits learned at the dojang. Grandmaster Walker truly loves what he does and his students, including myself, have the utmost respect and love for him and his dojang.
