Im giving it two stars only because the other kids are nice. The teaching is boring, only some teachers are nice, the bathroom is disgusting, the fifth grade students have to raise fundraisers every year to supposedly pay for a better playground or a bigger library, but all the money raised(well over 1000 dollars) has disappeared.

My boy loves enlighten, and he is loved by the teachers there.Most of the teachers there are very nice and kind!!

Ive been volunteering here for a while now, and its been a really fun experience. There are many interesting activities for the kids to do while learning about Chinese. As long as you pay attention and follow directions, you will have a great time.

This is a great Chinese school. The teachers are all great, and the classes are interesting too. The summer camp is very educational and the activities are traditional but fun. The teachers are nice if you listen in class and dont get into trouble.

My child has been attending weekend class from the first Grade to the fourth. Ive found the principal knowledgeable and supportive of the latest teaching methods. Its unfortunate that the traditional Chinese way of teaching is boring and plays too much on memorization, but thats everywhere. Enlighten is a school that has been trying to improve that.

Im one of the teachers assistants here and I have to say, over the course of the three summers Ive ever volunteered Ive had the most fun in my life. I look forward to week 1 of camp every year. Although the teachers have high expectations, they do it for the sake of their students and are always accomadating, if, of course they behave appropriately. It is an educational, fun, amazing and the best thing to have ever happened to me.

Enlighten will forever be ingrained in the depths of my nightmares. The teachers really don’t care about their students, and classes are extremely boring. Also the teachers are unbearably narrow minded and are unwilling to accept people of other cultures or sexual orientations. I gave a presentation relating to gay pride, and the teacher told me being gay was as bad as smoking.

This is a great place! I volunteer here and everyone is like a family. The kids are sometimes a bit naughty but they are generally angels. The teachers are a little bit strict but they are very helpful and responsible. :))))

The teachers care a lot more for the girls than boys but most of the teachers are nice soThats why theres an extra star.

This is a very nice Chinese school with a convenient location. Kids like the activity and courses here. They have Sunday chinese courses, and workday afterschool courses. Chinese language is hard to learn. We do not have many really good material s for kids to read. Otherwise, they might be more willing to read and study.

In my personal opinion, all these reviews are over exaggerations. Are the bathrooms low quality? Yes. Are the desks cheap? Yes. But are they still useable? Yes! Half the people who wrote such low reviews about the low quality, and the boring classes, they are probably too busy paying attention to the small details. The teachers do not give you 30 minute talks about off topic things, and the classes are sometimes pretty interesting at times, sometimes they are boring. In my opinion, enlighten is one of the best chinese schools available.

I like the extra curriculum classes like go, ping pong and public speaking. The teachers makes you stay in until you memorized a poem, It is so hard. The Chinese classes are hard and boring.

I learned a lot and the teachers are helpful IF you are respectful. Its like any other learning establishment: put in the work and you will see results.

Caring teachers and administration always puts students first.
