At Indigo, we found a caring community that values the unique differences in each of us. My kids are learning to work with people of varying ability (both other students and adults). Theyre learning to find a solution to their own problems (its a work in progress!) And they have dozens of adults who have grown to love them & would do anything for my babies (and I have dozens of other kids who I love and would do anything for).

We felt like we found our tribe here at Indigo. Living in a big city we worried we were going to lose the family feel in the school setting...that was until we found Indigo. As a parent of a special needs child this was especially important. Each childs academic course is determined by their own needs which is huge for us. The enrichments, art, music, monthly field trips and gardening also makes our childrens learning experience well rounded and whole child focused.

Indigo Program is the hidden gem of public schools. It is a small school that teaches to the whole child. Its education the way I remember elementary school as a child. It has enrichments, music, art, science and a beautiful garden the students take care of. It is a parent participation program that goes from Kinder to 8th grade. Parents have weekly shifts in the classroom and take on jobs that benefit the community. Because of the parent participation the children can go on monthly field trips and small group learning is employed. It has been a great school for our whole family.

This isnt much of a school as it is a glorified daycare. It was nice growing up around the same group of friends it really soiled my social skills considering I didnt need to make any new friends since I had known the same 8 for years. Generally the teachers are very nice though the education the school presents sucks. I made it to the 5th grade not knowing how to add or subtract, I never did the homework, and I got away with it too! The teachers separate the class into groups so they can teach more things at the same time. Since its a parent volunteers school the teachers let the parents do most of the teaching even though the parents themselves have no idea what their supposed to do. I specifically remember parents not knowing what kind of math we were learning that day, and yet they were supposed to help us? The only good thing that came out of that place was the friendships I made. But other than that I feel like I wasted 5 years of my life attending that school and was very glad to leave and get a real education. Indigo either needs to step up their game or shut down.

We love Indigo and the fantastic whole child experience my kids are getting. My kids (K, 2nd and 4th graders) are building their academic, confidence, leadership and team building skills while learning life lessons to prepare them for their future in school and beyond.

My 3 kids (4th starting this year) have had a great experience at Indigo. The art, music, and enrichments offered are unparalleled by other schools in the area. The differentiated education thats possible because of small group instruction has allowed my child who excels in math to stay engaged and continue to be challenged. All my children have become more confident while here. I love that the focus isnt just on what to learn, but on how to learn.
