I came here with my friend a little while ago and it was awesome! Alex and his instructors are the so welcoming and helpful! I dont live in San Diego, otherwise I would definitely belong to this gym! Thanks for teaching me some self defense while I was in San Diego!

The Krav Maga Academy of San Diego is a well managed, and well prepared facility. The Academy is ready to train its students to take on the situations that life throws at you, that require the training they provide. The staff is incredibly professional, and trains you on only the best quality of Krav Maga. Even those who are just looking to protect themselves, this class can make a difference between making out, or not. It receives all my recommendations.

I recommend Krav Maga for everybody, regardless of age, experience or fitness level. The classes at the Krav Maga Academy San DIego focus on real-world situations, and the instructors take time to brief you on the purpose of all the techniques prior to the drills in class.I think its pretty cool to learn skills adopted by military/law enforcement and just have knowledge of the most vulnerable parts of the body.All the students here are very welcoming and offer tips to the newcomers.This is definitely the place to go if you want to give it a crack. The Krav Maga instructors here are the most qualified you will find in San Diego!

Ive looked for a lot of Krav Maga training places in San Diego and havent found one that is as qualified and well rounded as Krav Maga Academy. Alexs experience is incredible and his approach to training has greatly exceeded my expectations, no drill sergeant here. The Krav Maga Academy, San Diego is hands down the best Krav Maga training facility in San Diego - and Ive trained at all of them! First, the instructors are certified directly by the Israel Defense Forces lead instructors; so, you know youre getting the real thing with these guys. Second, the instructors focus on training real life solutions for real life situations. (You will not learn exotic but useless movie techniques.) Also, the instructors are extremely experienced in teaching civilians, but also teaching military, law enforcement, and third-party protection units. (Not many instructors can honestly say that!) Finally, the instructors are personable and friendly people who take personal safety very seriously.If youre looking for a school that will train you in practical, REAL LIFE self-defense and get you fit, you cannot beat the Krav Maga Academy. I definitely recommend Krav Maga Academy San Diego, to anyone looking for a great Self Defense class. No prior martial arts back ground or any other forms of fighting required to join. The instructors are certified experts in KM. My wife and I both have enjoyed being in the class. A therapy for couples☺while learning to defend your self is always a winning situation. The price for the class is very reasonable and the amount of training you get, is a bang for your buck. So if you ever wanted to try self defense but are too nervous, come by and check it out. Afraid of coming by your self, bring a partner or workout buddy. You will have a great workout.

I cant say enough good things about this place or the instructors. I didnt have much background in martial arts or self defense before starting, but the instructors made each class easy to grasp and relevent to real life situations.The instructors are experts and great teachers, which are often not one in the same. Techniques build on themselves throughout the class and from class to class. And the chance to work on technique under the stress of simulated real life scenarios is an immense help.To boot, the instructors and all the other students are friendly, inclusive, and make for a great environment. I have been going three days a week and wish I could go to more of their classes. First rate people and establishment, and I recommended them highly.

These guys are awesome! The instructors are down to earth but professional, always willing to answer questions and push their students to become better. Im getting fit and learning to defend myself.

If you are looking for a great place to train and learn self-defense as well as other skills you have come to the right place. You will learn more here about realism, not smoke and mirrors. You get out of it what you put in and you are treated well.

As someone who is a Krav Maga instructor I highly recommend KMA and the Instructor staff. I would not say this about too many other Krav Maga schools in San Diego. It is worth your time to give this spot a chance.

The Krav Maga Academy was absolutely incredible! I loved being pushed out of my comfort zone and you feel so good after one or two classes...go here for a crazy awesome work out and fun instructors!

If you are looking for self defense type classes, this is the place to go. Their krav maga classes are awesome and they do conditioning classes that really push you. They are tough classes, but the instructors are really cool and help you develop your skills on an individual level. I started out pretty slow but I am learning and its been good to learn!Highly recommend!

Krav Maga Academy is by far the best Krav Maga gym in San Diego! The instructors are incredibly knowledgable and will work with you 1 on 1 to make sure you understand the lessons as well as get them right! They care about all the students in the class, and will cater to your needs. I have been in classes many times with brand new students and the instructors take the time to make sure they get the attention they need, as well as the attention I need.I joined the KMA because of the intense workouts, friendly environment, and great instructors. I really enjoy the Boxing classes as well because they are challenging but fun. The more skilled students are always helpful and will make any new person feel welcome.I strongly recommend checking out the Krav Maga Academy in San Diego. They offer free classes if you are interested, so no harm in being curious. You will not regret it!!

If you are looking for a good group of people that are fun and knowledgeable in the martial art Krav Maga, this is the place for you. you will learn a lot, coaches are great and the students are a good group to learn with.

I’ve learned so much about defending myself in real world situations since I started coming here 1 year ago. This place is like my second home I’m here so often, and I keep coming back, not just for the knowledge and great workout I get, but for the people and awesome instructors!

I reckon this would have to be some of the most effective and best value for money training you can do. Cover off on all aspects of self defence and hand to hand fighting (boxing, kickboxing, jujitsu) plus weapons defence. All with techniques tried and tested in military application i.e. it works.Head instructor- Alex Trafton- can be a little surly for early morning classes (think cross between Vince Vaughn and Badr Hari), but hes not without humour either. More importantly hes got an international following students who will vouch for him knowing his topic and knowing how to teach it.
