This school has changed my life and Im thankful. The teachers and the coaches are really nice. And being part of the soccer team has really showed me how to be my brothers keeper and it has turned me into a young responsible adult. This is the best High School ever!!

I have to say Roosevelt was not my sons first choice for schools but we took the tour and we all were so impressed. He loves it and honestly I feel like the teachers, staff and directors are wonderful. Its very easy going, the campus is nice, teachers care and the school spirit is strong. If you having doubts, take a tour with your child and think about Data as a possible school for you. Not regretting our decision.

When I was there, I couldnt wait to get out. This school is terrible!! Please do yourself a favor and take your kids somewhere else. You can never miss a baby bump walking around there, they arent strict with the dress code(guys and girls) and their is always a fight. Kids are always walking around skipping school, they dont care for an education, the teachers are always losing your homework and making you redo it then find it and say it was your fault for not putting in a certain place. They always say they dont get paid enough to put up with our bullshit, yet they roll in to school with nice cars, vestiment, cellphones and jewelry. From the start of my freshman year there was a fight to the end of my senior year there was a fight. My current attending sister told me the other day that there was a food fight in the cafeteria, yet they didnt do anything about it. Kids disrespect their teachers and dont give a damn. Never will. Now the reason why I decided to post this up now is because my brothers who are in special education are getting bullied at school. One of them is getting beat up by a black kid and the other one is scared to go to school to the point of wanting to KILL himself. He wants to KILL himself!! My parents went to talk to the principal and he wouldnt do anything about it!! So parents if you have special children, dont bring them here! Sure enough its definitely OK for special education children to be bullied and be beat up! Its OK for bullying to happen!! Thats not fair!! Your kids will be made fun of and pass so traumatic experiences there, and not to mention theyll also be offered weed and ecstasy! So be careful!

The difference between my kids and others is me. Im active and in close communication with their teachers. I may not know everything they do but i put the fear of God in them. Ive taught my children right from wrong. Any school can sell drugs and they do. Its the patents responsibility to know whats going on. Another difference is teaching your children not to be stupid enough to take drugs and not to do the dumb things that kids can do. One of my daughters has graduated from TR with a 4.0 GPA. She is a Junior in college and is well on her way to a bright future. I owe so much to the teachers and staff @ Roosevelt, Ed White, and Royal Ridge elementary for helping my children on their way.

It is a public high school. Has the same virtues and vices of every other public high school. NEISD keeps things running as smooth as they can with what is available. Entering or leaving the school via car at 8-9 and 4-5 can be a nightmare traffic wise but sticking around and getting involved in a club helps minimize the effect of this.

Its a public high school what do you expect. The new buildings are nice and the getto reputation is not all that it was hyped up to be. The magnet programs are fun but they are not for everybody. Im a short white nerdy kid and neither me or any of my friends have ever been bullied. The gang violence is mostly done at the bushes chicken across the street not on school grounds. Overall a pretty good school if you dont get yourself into trouble.

When I went to this school in the mid 2010s, Theodore Roosevelt High School was absolutely atrocious! The students were all sorts of bad, the magnet programs didnt live up to the actual hype, and the post-graduation help was bare-bones.To start things off: Yes, the legends are true! Theodore Roosevelt is ghetto. This fact - this theme is what influences the entirety of the school from the students, to the administration. This can be seen by the sea of sagging pants, pregnant teens, constant fights (3 videos of Roosevelts fights were posted in places such as Worldstarhiphop and Facebook), drugs, bullying, and the screeching sound of rap music in the hallways. These people would also do crazy stuff such as turn one of the restrooms into a smokebox and another one (the ETA restroom) into some sort of barber shop. In the subject of restrooms, there was an incident in which someone replaced the soap in one of the male restrooms with feces. These people would also mouth off teachers, frequently play hooky (and loiter in local businesses such as Bushs Chicken, thus becoming local menaces), and steal all sorts of things (hats, phones, and, one time, a cop cart). Truly, this place is a cesspool of thug degeneracy. As for the other side of the spectrum, it should be first noted that Roosevelt has two magnet programs (ETA and DATA). In these two magnet programs, it attracts some of the local talents. However, because these kids see Roosevelts vocal ghetto culture in a day-to-day basis, some of them cant help but compare themselves to these lowlifes, rather than the people whore clean and are just getting by in the school (few in number). As a result, some place themselves in a pedestal that reaches the heavens while the rest of Roosevelts people with nothing to stand on, putting the few, decent people with the vocal, ghetto culture. These people who have inflated egos were some of the most arrogant elitists Ive ever met.In speaking of magnet programs, the programs themselves do not live up to their hype brought forth by the recruiters. Sure, you would be able to get some nice perks such as going to exclusive DATA/ETA events, and enjoy the prestige in being in a magnet program, but there are cons to it as well. ETAs curriculum was set up to where it was heavily encouraged that the student to take nothing but pre-AP/AP classes, and you werent allowed to have an off-campus period. If you decided to change a class because of that, prepare for a very long, hassle-heavy conversation with the ETA counselor. Furthermore, their so called ETA Exclusive classes werent exclusive at all. There were a few cases where DATA students and even regular Roosevelt students were able to take a few ETA classes all while DATA had truly Exclusive classes that even the ETA students were not allowed to attend. ETA also required its students to have 50-75 hours of community service in order to graduate. As for DATA, they were much better than ETA in comparison, despite the 50-75 hours of community service requirement. You actually have a choice in deciding to have Pre-AP/AP classes rather than being forced to take all Pre-AP/AP classes. You also can have an off-campus period. In addition, DATA prepares you much better than ETA for life after high school by helping you make a career portfolio and by giving you way more opportunities and connections than what ETA had. Also, DATA had much more scholarships unlike ETA. Also, even if the ETA scholarships were awarded, it would all usually go to 1-2 people. Interestingly, in a certain year of mine, an ETA student managed to get all of ETAs scholarships solely by hiding all the scholarship applications until the very last minute when it was too late to even start on it.As for the school helping you for your future, the school does a minimum job at helping you at all (coming from a university student). AP World History is useless for non-history majors. Lacks Microecon, Human Geography, Psychology AP test centers. They only give you a big hunk of papers of what you can do with your life.
