I have 1 child and a step who go to Johnson. Its been an absolutely excellent school for us. I had stepchildren go to 2 other high schools in SA, and this school is by far the best. The principal is communicative and sends emails often (but not too much) about whats going on, and hell typically send a couple of reminders during the year about the dress code. The kids are allowed quite a bit of freedom and are treated like adults (can use their phones, other personal tech tools). Teachers do send weekly updates and there is lots of tutoring and support available. LOTS of support, and plenty of information and support early on about colleges. Also, the cafeteria was featured for their extensive food options on the radio.If you have children who know how to follow rules and understand that certain freedoms come with responsible behavior, this may be the school and area for you. If your child wants to break rules, disrespect authority, and not be committed to his/her education, then you might want to try living in another area.

There are several teachers here that do not teach, and that is not to say that they do not teach up to the standard that this school has set, I mean that they dont teach 70-85% of the time. If you do in fact get these types of teachers, go straight to the counselors and request a schedule change. I never plan on returning to this school after I graduate. Otherwise, its acceptable, but not easy to succeed in.

I love Johnson! Its my first year of high school and I couldnt think of a better place to go to school. I was supposed to go to Madison High School but I hated Harris Middle School so I switched to Johnson High School and everyone there is so positive and nice. The teacher really care about that students and push you to excel. Our school quotes says we dont want to be equal we want to excel!

Really friendly people and staff, some odd people of course, but it all just depends who you hang out with. Overall I love the spirit and atmosphere of this school 💙 totes recommend it

Johnson high school is the best igraduated and got 5 million dollars from them for a free scholarship and a 4 story house

I dont go here, but this school gets 5 stars only because it has the second best marching band in the nation

Simply put, Dont get Mrs.Paris.She will ruin the fun of chemistry for you.
