Our children attended the dual language program for the past 3+ years and we loved it. The teachers are very dedicated to the students and you can tell they do anything to make sure they succeed. They are very invested in the children. Unfortunately we had to switch them to a different school because we moved and now GGA is too far for us. We will miss the teachers and staff tremendously they were like family to us. Onward coyotes we wish you all good luck 💜

As the former administrator at George Gervin Academy, there are many things that I can say about this organization, to start, it was simply an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to serve as the principal here. The Superintendent (Mrs. Boynes) was simply phenomenal to say the least. She was highly professional and personable; she made everyone who entered her presence feel beyond welcome and took time out for everyone that needed her. The Human Resource Director (Ms. Walker) was outstanding every day; her services went beyond the role of any HR Director that I have ever had the opportunity to work with. The teaching staff is dedicated to their craft to educate and mold tomorrows leaders, which is an irregularity in todays educational system. Finally, the Assistant Principals, Mr. Sanchez, and Mrs. Nieland, surpassed all of my expectations; their work ethic and dedication to the students and the organization is exceptional. Again, it was an honor and privilege; I wish this organization nothing but absolute success in every way possible.Mr. Forrest

This is one or is the worst organized places I have ever been involved with. I suggest you seek other charter or ISD to work at. They simply have no organization, no curriculum in the High School. This year they are starting with all Subs because the teachers all left because they were fired last year or decided not to come back because of the lack of communication and organization. Not to mention they dont really care about their employees or how they will help students. They worry about the numbers so they can receive extra funding. They over-stretch the teachers and are well below the minimum pay compensation for certified teachers. Its a shame that they play politics over the actual care and future of the students.

I agree with most of the post about the school system very unprofessional. I withdrew my kids today. They were left at the Walmart by the transportation lady MS. CAMP.My kids asked can she call me, cause they forgot they phone and she stated to my 13 & 8 yr old they gone have to figure something out and drove off leaving them unsupervised and in the heat. Not to mention as I’m driving up the street I see my kid’s alone walking home which means they have to cross a main business intersection which is very DANGEROUS. I’m very sadden by this situation because when I addressed it with to the school it still wasn’t being taken seriously. We had a li conference & the transportation lady Ms. Camp lied to my face and said I told her she could leave my kids. I was shocked to my face o wow also stated mY kids told her they could walk. That was jus a big ol lie smh. I’ve picked them up everyday since school started. My kids has never walked home.! My kid could have Been hurt or anything and she didn’t even apologize show no Sympathy or remorse. I ain’t gone lie the tall principal was trying to help out but still, It wasn’t until I mention withdrawing my kids. They tried to act like they were going to follow the discipliner procedure so I can keep my kids there. But she was transporting kids today n I’m pretty sure gone keep transporting them despite the incident that Occurred. #2 The buses are not being disinfected after each load of kids are transported. There jus loading them up n dropping them off, for kids to contract the VIRUS 🦠 AND spread it. I’m pretty sure it’s not being sanitized at all .

My son goes here now and is in the third grade. The Special Education department is really working for us. Cant wait until next year.

Not a fan of this school it’s always an excuse about your child. They don’t like working with your kids they don’t utilize skills for these kids to be successful. My kids definitely will not be returning. I have to constantly go back and forth with staff just to make sure everything is in the best interest of my kid. Being that this is a well know school you would expect more but these people only care about a paycheck not our kids !

So many good memories here. I loved the teachers. They know so much of knowledge from education to actual living. They inform us about many opportunities. They are the best. I dont know about the elementary or middle but I am saying on behalf my high school years. Great school.

We rented the George Gervin Gym for a surprise graduation party and it was great! The staff was very friendly & helpful. My son and his friends loved the Gym! They had the buzzers go off like a real basketball game. All of our guests had a great time!

I am posting this because I used to work in the kitchen I was a cook a temporary one with express personal. Supposedly the paper plates had not paid their bill since I started working there with my temp agency. So sad...i liked the job but I am posting in case anyone else is called to work there. Dishonest company from Dallas. They need to pay what they owe. Not tale care of the three that are there.

My niece has been at the school since pre k. She is now in 1st grade and every year it gets worse and worse. They are never paying attention to these kids. They talk about how they are so organized and strict protocol on bad behavior yet almost every week my niece has a story to tell about a kid hitting her spitting on her pulling her hair etc. The teachers pay no attention and are so un organized. She doesnt even come home with homework sometimes. If they have any extra activities for the week they dont even give the parents enough time to gather stuff together for whatever events it is. The teachers had made her cry before and even showed the kids some graphic stuff when they didnt even ask parents permission before they showed them. This school is COMPLETELY HORRIBLE!

Im sure the school is a well ran facility BUT volleyball club teams need to stop holding volleyball tournaments here. The courts/ facility are not equipped for large crowds/ multiple teams. Seating is bleacher seating and very limited. Also the airflow lacks greatly creating a humid uncomfortable climate for players and spectators. Volleyball directors please stop signing up teams to compete here!!!

I thought this was a good school because I heard so many good things about it but as time went on I started to notice that this school and some of the staff are really unprofessional. They pick and choose rules they want to enforce for certain people or parents. The parking lot is dangerous, they have no one out in the parking lot making sure the kids are safe because cars zoom in and out of there not watching for pedestrians, people park crooked and hit or scrape your car. Then they want to complain because your going out of the door in the back when they let everyone go in and out. they should be concerned with that parking lot issue but I guess being choosey with parents to follow rules is more important. I would think twice before enrolling in this school especially if you dislike favoritism and backwards rules. Im glad my kids are not going back next year.

I dont know anything about the school. But I do know the event they held recently regarding a sports tournament was absolutely disorganized. people got so aggressive for parking.

Horrible, the teachers in the school will not even use the crosswalk when transferring kids/students from one side of the street to the other.
