A wonderful preschool with strict COVID-19 standards. All outdoors for the 20/21 school year and everyone wears masks. Grateful to have a safe outdoor preschool experience that focuses on play-based and nature themed curriculum. Highly recommend the program and all teachers are excellent.

CCNS has not only been a wonderful preschool for my child, but a true community for me as a parent. In exchange for less expensive tuition, parents donate time inside the classroom and at school events. This gave me the opportunity to know my child’s new classmates/friends and teacher, I also made new adult friends. The play based model at the school is a very easy and natural transition into educational learning. Anyone looking for a preschool where the tuition is affordable and an opportunity to meet new families, this is the place for your child!

Weve loved our time at CCNS, were finishing out 10 years there this spring, with all 4 kids. We LOVE the teachers. The facility is great, including a nice big shaded playground. But the best part is the community! This is a co-op preschool, meaning there are 1-2 parents helping in the class everyday. Its so fun to be in the class, and see whats going on You get to know the teachers, the students and families. Theres potential for lifelong friendships here! Its a play based preschool which I love, the focus is on useful skills, like problem solving, manners, speaking up, putting on coats ect... Love it!

We love CCNS! The teachers are amazing and they handled COVID fantastically moving all classes to the great outdoors. My daughter is two and she loves it. Their play based model is wonderful for child development and having the parents participate in their child’s school day is such a treat!

We have been at CCNS for over 6 years now through multiple children. Our daughters have had a great experience there. Their play-based learning philosophy is fun for children and helps develop a sense of curiosity and wonder, become independent, and create meaningful relationships. I’ve loved the co-op model because it has allowed me to have a hands-on impact on my children’s education, but also enabled me to connect with other parents and create a community. The other families are lifelong friends for both myself and my daughters. The teachers at CCNS are wonderful. They are experienced and caring. We’ve also loved their outdoor program; it has helped my kids become wonderful little hikers and observers of nature! CCNS is everything a preschool should be, a warm, child-focused environment that is based around developmentally appropriate learning and fun!

I sent both my children here for preschool, ages 2-4. It was a wonderful experience for my kids, and it was a wonderful experience for me.The play-based, co-operative model was positive for many reasons: I learned how my child interacts in a classroom, I got to know her school friends, and I became part of a community. Early child parenting can be a lonely thing, and CCNS gave me a pool of thoughtful, hands-on parents with whom I could connect. For my kids, they developed the age-appropriate social-emotional skills that are crucial in the preschool years. And dont be put off by play based education; both my girls left CCNS kindergarten ready. They were armed with the academic knowledge, self-care tools, and readiness skills to usher them seamlessly into kindergarten.

In addition to the delight of getting to know the unique personalities of each and every one of my childs peers, a unique advantage of committing time to co-op in the classroom is exposure to the rich skill-set of the seasoned teachers at CCNS. I learned skills enabling me to be a better parent while my child learned to be an empathetic problem-solver capable of speaking up for herself and interacting confidently with adults and children alike.Play-based does not translate to not educational. Our youngest attended CCNS over 3 years, from ages 2-4, and the difference in relative social skills and overall kindergarten readiness is notable as compared to our prior experience with an older sibling who had been at other preschools. Plus the outdoor program, Wasatch Wanderers, has been an incredibly enriching complement to classroom experience. We have loved visiting local trails as a family and having the littlest take the lead, eager to share tout experiences learned in hiking class.Lastly, shy folks and introverts, dont be intimidated! Theres opportunity for a sense of belonging for all at CCNS and the unique, natural development of relationships through collective investment of time and energy is empowering. We treasure the friendships and strong sense of community formed during our time at the school.

Both of my children have attended CCNS. We as a family have gained so much from our experience there. We were looking for a great co-op experience, and man did we get it! We met families there that we will be lifelong friends with. Both of the teachers have over 20 years of experience each. Both of them taught us how to be better parents! My kids loved both Ms. Terry & Ms. Stephanie and gained valuable life experiences from their time at CCNS.Most of all, for a neurotic person such as myself, I truly felt my children were safe and well cared for. They have a detailed emergency plan in place which made me feel so much better the first time I dropped my little one off there.I cant say enough about this school and the positive impact it has had on myself, my husband, and my children. If you are looking for early childhood education in the Salt Lake Valley, this is the place to go!

CCNS has been a wonderful experience for my family. Being a part of a co-op is incredibly rewarding. Not only do we get to be a part of our childrens learning and playing, but we also get to know other kids in the class along with their parents. One of the best benefits of co-oping is the opportunity to work with the teachers and learn from them. Both the teachers at CCNS are incredible; their commitment to the kids is amazing. They have both been there for over 20 years and I appreciate how much enthusiasm and love they bring to the kids each year. They are always available to chat about whats been going on with your child. If youre working on something, they are there for you to talk it through, to follow through at school, etc. Ive seen the effort and care that they show each child. My kids have both had Miss Stephanie as a teacher and its been really rewarding for me to learn from her. Shes made a big impact on both my husband and me as parents. Miss Terry is the other teacher at CCNS. Ive gotten to know her from playground time and learned a great deal from her as well. I feel lucky to have gotten to know and learn from such fabulous teachers, they really make the school special. CCNS is a great community to belong to. Weve made several life long friends and are lucky to have provided our kids with such a wonderful beginning to school.

Miss Stephanie makes this school, the program, and education plan the most amazing experience for your entire family. She is CCNS! She will teach parenting without being overbearing, and her background in recreational therapy comes to play in every aspect. I cant say enough about her and what she does for families. Go to this school if you want a full school preparation experience instead of just a daycare.

Best preschool experience ever. I chose this preschool because of the amazing teachers, the natural learning environment, the excellent location, great class sizes, add in that I get to go to school (Yes! Its a co-op!) with my kids and see them make their first friends is just the sprinkles on top!

Our family absolutely loves CCNS. Our 3 year old Eisley has such a great time at school, and her teacher is incredible. The style of learning is very much hands on, and allows for our daughter to use her imagination to solve problems and form meaningful relationships with her classmates and the other co-op parents. A tour is a great place to start; come check it out for yourself. We simply can’t say enough good about CCNS - it’s a fantastic place for your child to learn and grow.

I have one son at CCNS. This is his second year at the school and he absolutely loves it. As the name of the school states, he is part of a community. He has a community of parents that watch over him, help him out, and care for him. I love being able to come into the class and spend time with him and his friends. We recently asked him, which of the following he loves the most: gymnastics, skiing, ice skating, or school. His answer was school. I cant recommend CCNS strongly enough.

I would look somewhere else. Stephanie Waldo is a crazy lady. She is always looking for something to be wrong with your child and will say so openly. She was always mistaking another woman for me. Then during my divorce proceedings she wrote a very personal note for the courts attacking me as a parent for my ex. It was hateful, scatter brained and extremely unprofessional. Goodluck.

This is a preschool where you get to participate in the early development of your child. During class parents get to help with art projects, bring snacks, read to and play with the kids. You get a front row seat to watch your kid develop friendships and discover new things. Stephanie was our teacher. If we had any issues, ie eat your veggies, bedtime or the passing of a relative, we could go to Stephanie, and together we could find the best way to move forward. She would usually add it to the weeks curriculum and the whole group would get the opportunity to learn a valuable life lesson. Stephanie was fantastic! We were able to consult with her about our girls strengths and weakness. She listened to us and executed a plan to prepare our girls for the rigors of school in ways different than you would expect. Our girls entered kindergarten stronger and more confident than I thought possible. Through our time at CCNS, my wife and I became better parents and learned to better communicate with our children from both Stephanie and other parents sharing in the experience. Through a combination of compassionate, logical advice and the hard truth, our family made great progress. Stephanie will tell it as she and her 30 years of experience sees it.

We have two children attending CCNS and cant say enough good things about it. The teachers are caring and attentive, while also encouraging the children to be responsible little people. The play-based atmosphere has helped our kids learn social skills and aided their early development. But the best thing about the school is the community environment. Co-oping in the classroom and attending school events has allowed us to actively participate in our kids pre-school experience, while also introducing us to some wonderful families in our community. We highly recommend CCNS to any families that are looking for an exceptional pre-school experience for their children!
