Since starting lessons at this studio in January 2020, my wife and I have been learning 9 different ballroom and Latin couples dance styles. Group Lessons and Practice Parties are terrific activities for socializing with other students. The entire staff is very talented and friendly. Regardless of gender, each instructor is knowledgeable in the leading and following roles of each dance style they teach. It is a pleasure working as a couple with one instructor as it improves our chemistry in more than just movement skills. Not all dance studios do it like this. We love the family atmosphere that seems to have been fostered for years with long time students. We highly recommend Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Rochester!

As a musician, I have always loved music. I used to go out to dance, but I found that even though I enjoyed myself, I always felt like I had 2 left feet, and really didn’t know what I was doing. I used to go to a club where older people who loved to dance would go. They seemed to know what they were doing on the dance floor, and it was really enjoyable to watch. One of my “bucket list” items was to learn how to dance – for real. A few years ago, I was given an opportunity to try dancing at Arthur Murray Studios here in Rochester. There were four lessons included, so I thought I’d have it all figured out after a month and know what I was doing. What I found out was how much fun learning to really dance would be. I also found some amazing people at the studio, both instructors as well as other students. It’s great exercise too. I would highly recommend dancing to anyone, especially if you find yourself wanting to have fun, learn a new skill, meet some great people, and get the benefits of exercise all in one.

Ive been dancing at this studio for over 3 years now and I can truly say that Ive never been happier in my entire life. As my kids were getting older I wanted to find something exciting and fun to do for myself, since I finally had some free time. Thats when I found AMDS of Rochester. And so happy that I did! The instructors are wonderful, truly love what they do and want to share the joy of dancing with us! I look forward to my weekly lessons and Friday night parties, they are the highlights of my week! I have danced all my life, but have never had the pleasure of learning ballroom dancing. The team at Arthur Murray welcomed me into their dance family and have helped me to progress further than I ever imagined in ballroom. I am incredibly lucky to have a dance instructor who works with me to understand the cultural history of each dance style and to appreciate how one dance style relates to others. He pieces movement together in a way that allows us to showcase these nuances...and for a dance nerd like me, coming to the studio is heaven. This is my happy place and my new family.

Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Rochester is the best! By far my lesson time it is most enjoyable hour of my week. My wife and I started taking lessons last year to prepare for our daughters wedding and never stopped! Its been an incredible journey. Perhaps, one of the best decisions of my life was to sign up at Arthur Murry. All the instructors are knowledgeable and love teaching their students how to dance. We had such a great experience, learned a lot in a short period of time, and had so much fun that we stayed on as regular students! This is a home away from home where I always get greeted by a friendly face and a cup of hot tea. Dance instruction is very professional and you can go as far as you want, from social dancing to competition all over the country.Very friendly and supportive environment!!!

We originally signed up with Arthur Murray to have that beautiful first dance for our wedding. Cassandra helped us (me) figure out what style of dance matched the vision I was dreaming of and it was the waltz. Anything new is intimidating but she made it fun for the both of us, so much so we are still dancing there 2 years later and my husband is not a fan of dancing and he loves it. If you have ever thought of trying ballroom dancing I encourage you to do yourself a favor and sign up and try. You will not regret your decision no one is there to judge you just relax and have fun. Everyone at the Rochester studio makes you feel like family.

I cant say enough great things about Arthur Murray Rochester. I used to refer to it as my home away from home, but very quickly it just became my home. All of the instructors are phenomenal -- professional, knowledgeable, and truly devoted to the progress of their students. The student body is incredibly supportive of one another and is like one big family. 100 out of 10, would wholeheartedly recommend. Joining this studio was the best decision Ive ever made, hands down.

My husband and I were non-dancers. When our daughter got engaged we knew that he would have to dance with her and we would have to dance together. We took the introductory class and signed up on the spot. Everyone there is warm and welcoming and totally non-judgmental. Never once did we feel awkward or embarrassed at our lack of skill. COVID came and wedding was drastically scaled back but we continue our weekly lessons because we have so much fun! And for my hubby to be so enthusiastic about it tells me just how great this studio is. Date night or event, dancing with Arthur Murray instructors and staff is the best.

If I could give Arthur Murray in Pittsford more than 5 stars I would! My fiance and I went to the first class for date night. We loved it so much that we signed up for the program. Now we are months in to our program and love going. It doesnt matter if your young or old the instructors we have worked with (Cassandra and Ed) are amazing and patient. We look forward to every class!

Who knew there were other ways to dance as a couple, without going around in a circle!! LOL We decided to learn some good dancing moves for our daughters wedding. I had some friends that took lessons at Arthur Murray and they really enjoyed their experience. We signed up for our introductory lesson with Ed and decided to continue with the introductory package of 4 lessons. The Arthur Murray staff is friendly and makes you feel at home. We have extended and are continuing with more lessons to sharpen our dancing skills. We are having fun with our instructor, Cassandra. They all make it fun!. GIve it a try. You will be glad you did!

The experience at Arthur Murray Rochester is simply wonderful! My fiancé and I learned our first dance for our wedding here. The instructors are phenomenal and the atmosphere is fun and inviting!

We went to Arthur Murray in the spring because we knew we were going to at least 7 weddings this summer and we wanted to be able to dance better. Arthur Murrays offer of 4 starter lessons was a great deal. Ed gave us a taste of a few dance styles that we thought we would like to learn. He really made it enjoyable and I got over my fear of dancing in public pretty quickly. We were having so much fun that we decided to take weekly lessons. We have learned a lot and have had a great time doing it. Cassandra has turned us into pretty respectable dancers who look good enough on the dance floor to dance to any type of music that we have been hearing at the weddings. Its hard to say enough about the people at Arthur Murray. From the greeting at the door to the help and encouragement from all the instructors. They have made it something that we look forward to every week. They are extremely professional and knowledgeable. With our input they lay out a curriculum so that we learn at our own pace. We can make changes if we want to learn other dances or we can stick with the plan that they lay out for us. I also like that there are all levels of dancers there. We have learned from the more advanced dancers in the group classes who are always willing to give pointers. The Friday night open dance parties are also a blast. Its free with the program and a great way to practice what we have learned. We would highly recommend going to Arthur Murray dance in Pittsford.

My wife and I took Bronze level 1 lessons there so I would not look like a complete fool for our wedding. But then COVID19 happened... yet they made it work. They worked hard to find solutions so we could take private dancing lesson safely.It was my first dancing experience and I really wasn’t sure if I was going to like it or not. Ed and later David really were great teachers, very dedicated, passionated and patient. They made every lesson fun and enjoyable. I learned a great deal in a short amount of time, and now I really enjoy dancing. They are very serious and will teach you great foundation to dance pretty much anything you like. They pay attention to details and they make sure that when you get out of there studio, you’ll dance properly. They help you do it right and feel confident, which was especially important for me as I am supposed to lead.As a beginner, I highly recommend their dance studio. Go for the private lessons and as many group classes as possible. You won’t regret it.

I bought my wife, Jan, a 4 introductory lesson pack about 15 years ago, and we have enjoyed dancing at Arthur Murray ever since. I have honestly two left feet, and no sense of rhythm but its still fun.The owners are very professional, and accomplished dancers, and place a focus on teaching, and inclusion for everyone from beginners to experts.The value for money is excellent, the instructors, and other students always make everyone feel welcome. Over the years we have made some of dearest friends while dancing at this studio.By the way 15 years later Jan is an accomplished silver and gold competitive dancer. Goes to show there is something for everyone here.

Karen and I have been having lessons at Arthur Murray for several years now. They have all levels of dancers from beginners to competitors. Neither of us are aiming to compete like the ballroom dancers you see on TV. We both just like to be able to dance socially if we go out for the evening. All the teachers at AM are awesome, they take the time to understand your goals and adjust accordingly. No matter how stressful the week we always end our lesson feeling relaxed and refreshed. Group of classes at many levels (from beginner to very experienced) offer many opportunities to dance during the week in addition to private instruction. The studio is also a very pretty space, so it is a nice place to meet people, spend some leisure time, and learn some neat dance moves. Hey, Everyone, Im going to sound like a paid ad, but Im not! If you havent yet tried dancing, take my word, now is the time, and you must sign up with Arthur Murray in Rochester. I am one of their students. Every minute I spend there is fun, fun, fun, because the instructors are good natured, bright, patient, and certainly know what they are doing! You will have one-on-one lessons, tailored to you. Dont go to one of those places which offers the five dollar classes where you have to do the same thing as everyone else during the class or you have to have a partner. Your instruction will not be as good. Also, I have seen students come in because they are shy or quiet and want to gain social confidence, and they end up blossoming. Try it.

Most wonderful helpful instructors for private lessons, group lessons, and for dancing with you at the parties. They are patient, encouraging, and very effective at getting the steps mastered. I feel like a million bucks! I am in better shape than ever and am always happy just thinking about going to dance. At first, my husband was just going along with it for my benefit. But now, he is excited and enjoying the fun of leading and the fitness benefits. And lots of new friends...

My husband got us lessons as my Christmas 2015 present...and we havent stopped since! We have so much fun with all of the staff and instructors! We learn, we laugh....its like hanging out with great friends! We also had the opportunity to accompany them to the Boston competition. It was amazing! We felt very prepared to compete (Thank you, Emily!!)...it was definitely a once in a lifetime trip and we enjoyed every minute!For us, lesson time is a combination of date night and stress relief from our hectic life!~~~ Give it a try, youll love it! ~~~

I started taking classes at this studio specifically for Swing / Lindy Hop. Absolutely love the lessons! The instructor is very down-to-earth and willing to go at my pace. She is very encouraging and infuses the perfect mix of fun and difficulty into each lesson.

Living with back pain is no fun as many of us boomers can attest to. After one of my many back surgeries our next door neighbors suggested my husband and I try ballroom dancing. I was dubious because at the time I was walking with a walker and using a leg brace for a foot drop. Only in my mid 40s so I was pretty bummed out about that!! We tried Arthur Murray and 9 years later I am so so happy we did. My neurosurgeon agrees! I still have back issues but ballroom dancing is based on good posture and strengthening your core so I know without the wonderful benefits, both physical and psychological, I would be in worse pain. The owners and staff at Arthur Murray are among some of the most compassionate people I have met. And the friends I have made there I will keep for a lifetime. Plus I get to wear sequins!!! I have competed at national competitions and have done well. I would recommend dancing ballroom to anyone and particularly at this studio! It changed my life for the better!!

I have been dancing at Arthur Murray Rochester since almost 8 years now. Over time, this became my family in Rochester. The teachers and staff are extremely friendly, and very professional. They make you feel welcome, and if I have entered the studio for a lesson with a grumpy face, I step out laughing, so much more cheerful. They somehow have it in them to bring a smile to any face. Besides their personal cheerfulness, each of the teachers are super talented, and and extremely patient with the student, understanding the fact that we are afterall not professionals. They encourage you, they teach you, they chat with you....its just a very happy environment they create because of their overall positivity....a mini Magic Kingdom of its own!! I have been dancing at Arthur Murray Rochester for nearly 14 years . My wife Debbie and I danced together for about 11 1/2 years . after she was diagnosed with Alzheimers, we had to stop . Debbie had to be admitted to a nursing facility, and I have been welcomed back with open arms . I am glad I have resumed dancing again, the staff and students are like a great big comforting, friendly family ! I am so happy to be dancing again, I know Debbie would want me to . I thank you Arthur Murray Rochester for being there for me, Thats what friends are for !!!!

I recently took lessons at Arthur Murray in pittsford for my June wedding and cant speak highly enough of this place! My dad and I took lessons for our father/daughter dance and just within the 12 weeks, my dad went from not liking to dance and having no confidence, to having a ton of confidence and wanting to take more dance lessons! I also became more confident in my dancing as well! Our instructor, Dominick, was amazing to work with and made the lessons fun and effective! All the rest of the employees were very welcoming, friendly, and accomodating. The franchise owners, Joe and Kate are awesome people and you can see their passion and love for what they do! I HIGHLY recommend trying out Arthur Murray for the non-experienced AND experienced...you wont be dissapointed!
