This place is my home & it always have been even before I started going to school here. Majority of the students who attended Sherman would tell you this school becomes home. I have met friends here who became my family & I love and miss them. I graduated from here & I miss it terribly but I recently have gone back & OMG never thought I would miss it so much.
Theres a lot of pride in this school. Not like other native schools they let you be who you are. No embarrassment to there culture. More pride in that then themselves good school to learn a lot about. This is my home away from home, its my family, and I sure miss it. Rather be there any day. Keep rocking those drums, keep doing your war cry. Ill be back someday. :)
My experience about this school is great. The staffs and faculties really care about you. Its more of a family than a boarding school. We have great classes and really challenge you to achieve. We have many clubs and activities on and off campus. Sports is great (especially basketball :D ). We have field trips to places like Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Six flags, Down town L.A, beach trips and more. Meet many Native kids from all across the U.S.
I havent gone school here yet, but I will next School year. My friend and I are looking forward to experiencing the education and try out for sports. Im exited. I hear its really awesome ! :)
Southern Cali weather was great but the kids I went to school with were awesome. Made some life long friends there. Most of us came from the same cultural and tradition backgrounds. I will forever be a Sherman Brave. AHO!!!!
New freshmen infect this once great sanctuary. blazing it is common, gopher and wild cats are the natural wildlife here. WATCH THE GOPHER HOLES. our principal is trying exorcism on this place. phones are like Jews here, they are being hunted.the food is full nutrients at its minimum, even people in prison even come close to eating this. the teachers are great they treat us good only because they are paid too. Christians are well invited, yet natives are sorely seen as side material.sports are treated like drugs, they love it, but they go to far and let their grades go. they sacrifice a lot just to play basketball, some arent even good. but cross country is our savior. we are underappreciated and have uniforms older than my mother.football and volleyball got new ones. dont get me started with baseball.JK. I love this place, its home, its treated me good and I regret nothing. :) or do I ):
I loved attending Sherman Indian High School, I was taught to be proud of my Native American Heritage, and be responsible, and to be respectful of others and recognizing that you can never be too busy to help another individual and to respect our Elders and mother earth.
If I could put no stars I would. The dorm staff are rude, the supervisors are unprofessional, the head of home living has amnesia and forgets she called me and had a conversation with me about checking out my niece, the principal sister Mary never returned my call in regards to her school and issues about the dorm! The staff are either related and stick up for one another or they are friends and dont take parent issues seriously. Im sorry for getting three children involved with this school, never again.
Theres to meny ugly gay men attention thid school
Really hate the freshmen this year someone needs to put them in check . i feel really ashamed to be a freshmen myself
Watches the kids like its a prison. Night checks and searches on the regular. Staff assumes your kid is a drug addict if they want to go on a walk.
Its seems like a great school.
Went to school there my freshman year, met natives from all over the country
Went to this school when I was a sophomore I had no where else to go and this school really made me appreciate my native culture and really help me with everythingIm a senior now but I wish I could go back
