Our little one has been going here for about 2 years, and we love it. She has fun, she’s advancing in education and I trust them with her. We get great updates and fun pictures about what she’s doing in class! I highly recommend Flamingo Island!

We came across Flamingo when we were looking for schools for my son. Many of the reviews stated that the kids would walk into Flamingo Island by themselves and were happy. This has been our same experience. My son absolutely loves it here.

We love Flamingo! My nephew moved to Flamingo from another preschool and his life changed. The attention that he gets here is beyond amazing. Education, safety and overall happiness are incredible. Teachers are always smiling, and having a good time with the kids. I cant believe what difference Flamingo made in his life. He is always happy when we come in, engaged in something very educational. Even he is only two, he can count, write and do big boy things :) They have parties that they organize for the families, the best part is that whole family can come and have fun. Moving him to Flamingo is the best decision that we made! Love it.

I honestly think this daycare needs 10 Stars. The environment is one of the best and the entire staff treat my son and I like family. It is very cozy, warm and inviting. We just moved here from IL so it has been extremely important for us to find the right fit, which i know we have at Flamingo. My son is very unique so the cookie cutter lifestyle doesnt work for us. Mrs.K, Mr. George & Mrs. Amber are unbelievable in the way they are with the children. They are absolutely FANTASTIC with all the children, very loving & caring. I cannot ask for a better place for my son to be. Also, they give music lessons to the children which is pretty cool. If you are looking for a safe, loving, caring environment for your children, i highly recommend going here. Mrs. K is very germ oriented and will make sure the kids get the best care. We have been with Flamingo Island for about a year now. Prior to them, weve had some good experiences and some downright traumatic ones. Putting our son in Flamingo Island has been the most amazing thing for him and us. He used to cry at the other schools, but he RUNS into this school every morning, as happy as could be. He is greeted with so much love and enthusiasm every single day. Hes grown so much since hes been there. He has learned so much. For us, theyve given us back our piece of mind when leaving him somewhere.In response to some of the negative reviews, I will say they do seem very selective when it comes to whom they allow in. However, this is a privately owned business, and they are interviewing you as much as you are them. You should at least go in with the understanding that you arent guaranteed a spot.I highly recommend Flamingo Island Preschool. If I could have my way, my son would stay there for his entire school life.

My daughter has been attending flamingo for a while now. She attended primrose prior to her enrollment. There is a difference! We noticed first week she is happier, doesn’t cry at drop off and you can just feel it when you walk in every day they care, genuinely care about our daughters happiness.They are very straightforward with the enrollment process and I appreciated the mandatory parent interview where they tell you exactly what is expected from us and what to expect from their staff. We love Flamingo Island Preschool. The teachers and staff are so welcoming and helpful at all times. The school is very clean and inviting with bright colors and music in every room. Our daughter started here at 12 months and she has grown so much over the past 8 months. Her social, developmental and verbal skills continue to improve on a daily basis. We love how much education is valued at this school. Highly recommend!

Flamingo Island is a wonderful, loving environment for learning! Our daughter started in the one year old class at 15 months old. As first time parents sending our child to preschool for the first time we did a lot of research and several interviews with local schools. From the beginning, we felt that Flamingo Island was the place for our daughter to learn and grow. We appreciate the music time, art time, sensory activities and traditional learning activities like reading and flash cards that are incorporated into each day. Our daughter loves all of her teachers and the friends she has made here. The staff is great at making the children feel welcome and safe at school. And they are great at communicating with us about our child’s daily experiences and progress!

We have had an amazing experience at Flamingo with our 17 month old! He is always happy to get there and see his teachers. They have an awesome playground and tons of fun indoor activities to keep the kiddos having fun and learning. My son has learned tons of new words and sign language since starting - hes always surprising us. They also have music days that he loves :)

We love Flamingo Island! The teachers are fantastic, the facility is fun and bright, and the owners are very engaged and hands-on. It has a very non-corporate, casual, independent feel. We especially love the emphasis on music and outdoor imaginative play. Im so happy that my son is in their care. He is a sweet, determined toddler and he loves his school. Highly recommended!

We as a parent definitely love this school. Our daughter has learned a lot from all of her teachers and friends. Staff were really friendly to us and it makes us feel comfortable to leave our daughter there for a good education and growth. Thank you everyone being there for Miley. LOVE THIS SCHOOL! My child has been going there since she was about 3 and I couldnt ask for a better school to have her in. Staff is extremely friendly and owners lead the school with passion. Owners are very hands on in the school and are constantly doing upgrades to the building, classrooms and curriculum. Extremely clean environment as well which was a huge priority for me. I recommend this school to everyone around me who wants to see social and educational growth in their children.

Our son has been going to Flamingo Island Preschool since he was 1 years old. Hes now 3 1/2 going on 4 yrs. pretty soon. Let me just say we are very impressed with how much he has grown, both intellectually and independently. They are articulate, kind and all about nurturing and the development of each child here. What 3 years old can recite the ABCs backwards? I know most adults cant! I also love how they engage the kids with songs to help them learn their continents and being polite with one another. The center is very clean and all the teachers are very nice. We love Flamingo and highly recommend this school. They truly have the best interest for my son and all the kids here.

Absolutely LOVE Flamingo Island. I cannot say enough good things about this school. Everyone is so welcoming and its clear they all have your childs best interest in mind. The school itself is so bright and clean and always playing music. My daughter became a different child when she started here and I owe it all to them!

We have been very happy at Flamingo Island. The teachers are energetic, engaging, and loving. My daughter loves going to school and I see how happy she is when I pick her up. My son Tyler is now in the 5 year old classroom and we have been there for a little over a year. It is amazing the improvements we have seen in a year. One day he saw a picture of the continents and he named them at the age of 3.5. At his older school he was shy and quiet but at Flamingos he has opened up and made some great friends. He loves his teachers that he has had and so have we. They gave us daily updates on what he was learning, gave us hmwk to practice with him on the weekends and made learning fun. Truly our home away from home, the teachers and owners are always engaging with the kids. Feels like a big family, my 5 year old and 3 year old have been going there for a little over 2 years and the difference it has made is incredible. My 5 year old is ready for kindergarten all thanks to flamingo and my 3 years old vocabulary is exploding.

A great school, teachers are really caring. We really had a peace of mind and we could be at work without any tension, as our kid was in a safe and caring school. My kid spent more than 2 years here since she was 1.5 years old. She learnt a lot of good habits. She loves her teachers a lot and she keeps talking about them at home. We love Flamingo Island Preschool! Teachers and administrators are great. School is new, very clean, and very curriculum-driven. There is a low student to teacher ratio, and they really give good 1:1 attention to the students. Weve been to other preschools in the area, and Flamingo Island is by far the best one in town. Flamingo Island is a wonderful place. Our daughter has been there for almost a year. The teachers, staff, and owners are wonderful people and educators, its easy to tell they love what they do. Our daughter is well taken care of, she enjoys school, has learned so much there. One of the things I really love about it is the communication from the staff. They are very hands on. My son has been a student at this school for several months. We moved him to Flamingo Island immediately when he turned one and could enter the school. When we first began to look at the school the owners and administrators were incredibly patient, honest and caring. This behavior has continued in every interaction we have had with every teacher and administrator. Every time I walk in to drop my son off or pick him up, everyone is always very very happy. After having paid for one of the most expensive daycares in the area, I can tell you this is not common. This school cares more about my child than anywhere else I have looked. They are always very accommodating and understanding as well. Any time I come to the school my one year old is always actively engaged in a production activity. I have noticed that he has excelled tremendously in his time there. I could not imagine a better place for him to spend his days learning. Every day when he comes home he is happy having spent the day with his friends and teachers. This was not our experience with the daycare he was previously enrolled in. As someone who expects the best for my child, I can tell you there is no better place.

My daughter attended this year and she loved! Its so upbeat! The atmosphere is so kid appropriate and makes them want to attend. Never had a problem sending my girl. The teachers are so loving and thoughtful. I will be sending my other when shes old enough!

After visiting several facilities in the area, I was pleased when I found Flamingo Island! My daughter was 2 when she started and I was really looking for a preschool focused on academics rather than just a daycare that would simply watch over my daughter while I was at work. Now that weve been with Flamingo Island for a year, I know that I made the best decision for my child! She has learned so much and she genuinely loves her teachers and friends. We enjoy seeing the same faces and upbeat personalities. The school is very involved and also hosts events to keep the family involved. We are grateful!

WE LOVE FLAMINGO ISLAND! After a year + of staying home with our son, I got a job opportunity I couldnt refuse and thankfully we found a spot at Flamingo! The school is super clean (professionally cleaned regularly if I remember correctly) and the classrooms are big, bright and full of life! The staff and teachers are so supportive of each childs needs and our son has flourished and continually amazes us with everything he is learning. We are definitely a Flamingo family for life!

Best school ever. The owners love these kids and they have put together an amazing school. Its a smaller school, but I actually prefer that to larger school. Teachers are really good. Same ones, very low turnover rate.

Flamingo Island is an amazing school with an awesome staff. The school is safe and clean. My children grew in leaps and bounds over the year that they were there. I feel my five year old is ready for kindergarten and it is in a very large part due to Flamingo Island. I would recommend this school to anyone.

Moving from another state was so stressful, partial because my daughter was also moving with us for the first time. We took our time and toured over 20 something daycare/preschools in Plano/Garland/Richardson area. Some charge less, some charge more. Some are Montessori same are regular daycares. Out of all the preschools and daycares, Flamingo stood out with exceptional customer service, cleanliness and the number of activities that they pack into one day! My daughter started when she was 2 and now she is 5 almost graduating. I took her to kindergarten roundup, and they did all of the testings. The elementary school told me that she is actually on the 1st-grade level. Not only advance but the whole year ahead. I have to say that 3 years at Flamingo really helped her become independent and grew her into a leader. They take care of these kids emotional needs and academic needs. My daughter was tender when she started and shy, but now she is very confident and well-spoken thanks to Flamingo. Great place to have your child in!

My son has been attending Flamingo since May this year and we both absolutely love it. I interviewed so many preschools to find a school with play-based learning and the ability to provide opportunities for my high energy kid to run around and failed to find the right environment until Flamingo.All the teachers and staff are excellent and truly care about the kids. My son frequently talks about all his teachers and friends excitedly. I love their emphasis on getting he kids kindergarten ready through play-based learning. Whenever there has been a problem, Ive been informed promptly and the staff have worked with us every step of the way.The facility itself is always very clean and theyre always looking for new ways to add to the experiences of the kids, such as starting a garden and just recently creating an art studio.Lastly, I love the community at Flamingo. The families here are friendly, diverse, and theres tons of events throughout the year such as holiday parties for everyone to get together. Id highly recommend this school to anyone.

This is a most awesome school. My child has been going here since he was 18 months old. He has bloosmed into a beautiful and social little man. His teachers are phenomenal from Ms. Tamiko to Ms. Amber, Jennifer and Mr. Vinni. Thank you for all you have done.

Our daughter has been going to this school for almost 2 years now and we are amazed by the progress she has made both academically and socially. Kudos to the staff and administration of this school. I started my daughter at Flamingo Island when the school first opened when she was 2 1/2 years old. She is now in kindergarten and we were very sad to say goodbye to Flamingo Island. This school and the staff were always very helpful and kind. They do a wonderful job with the children do a great job to prepare them for elementary school. We were very concerned when it was time for our son to start preschool, because he had spent his time at home until then. But the transition into preschool was very smooth, thanks to Flamingo Islands capable management and teachers. It proved to be a home away from home with fun activities, enriching learning experiences, and loving staff. My son enjoyed going to Flamingo Island and it has definitely prepared him for Kindergarten.

My girls--3-year-old twins and 19-month-old-- have attended Flamingo Island Preschool for only one week, but already they love going to school and eagerly ask me every morning if theyre going to their new school. Our daughter loves everything about our school choice! From the playground built just for her age group to the new beach with shade and sand for an awesome outdoor sensory experience. This is a boutique preschool on the cutting edge of child development (they even trained their teachers in a newly launched STEM Program). You wont get lost in the shuffle here as this is a privately owned facility run by a couple who is so passionate about the programs that I know my child is great hands. They have a small space, but our very creative with how they use space even creating art labs!

There is wonderful team of deeply caring and experienced staff who provide a fantastic learning environment. The children really thrive and love Flamingo.The other piece that has impressed us most about Flamingo is their desire to support the entire family, not just the child for the time theyre there. We receive a daily summary of how things went, and the staff is always more than happy to chat if needed.Admin staff has taken time to educate us, attend meetings, and come up with alternative arrangements to make the transition easy on our son and family as a whole. Flamingo has one of the best student to teacher ratios in the area.

Finding Flamingo was a BLESSING! I am going to be honest...When our family found Flamingo, our baby was still attending the daycare she was attending since she was 6 months. We were desperate! We saw how much our baby dislike her previous daycare, she would come home so tired of crying, dirty, bottles intact, very cranky, and just not happy at all. I started my research and came across Flamingos website. So, we schedule a tour and short after admin offered us a playdate. Needless to say, our girl had the best time during that playdate; with people she DIDNT EVEN KNOW at the time! That tells you something- right? Right, there and then, we knew; we found her HOME AWAY FROM HOME.My girl is blossoming in their clean, happy, and welcoming environment. The teachers are amazing...to the point that she does not want to go home at the end of the day!! Admin goes above and beyond to make you feel a part of the team!So, if you are wanting to make a switch in daycares.. trust me- this is the place!

Flamingo Island is your ultimate day school home away from home. Children are treated like superstars each and every day.I was finally ready to go back to work when my son was 1, searched around Richardson, Plano, Sachse, & Murphy, found Flamingo and have never looked back. After meeting Mrs. Kay, the owner/former nurse, and touring the school, I knew my son would be in as good of care as he would with Mommy. Learning curriculum, cleanliness, germ awareness, organization, confidence building, and hands on interaction is priority. All the bases of child development are covered at Flamingo. My son was signing his needs soon after attending at just 1 yrs old, speaking 50-100 words at 2, and now at 3 he sings full nursery songs, identifies letters/numbers, he’s socially outgoing and extremely confident. He loves going to school. At 3 he proudly says, “This is my school!” to his family members at Flamingo gatherings/parties. Great Pre-School!We love Flamingo Island. The school has been great for our son and we are excited for our younger son to attend very soon. The teachers are great, and I particularly like the small community. I find the facility to be very clean and inviting. Flamingo Island does a lot to create a fun environment for young kiddos to learn and are constantly adding to the school. We also enjoy the frequent parties/celebrations for parents to join their children at the school such as Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Halloween, 4th of July, and many more!I feel confident that my children are well cared for during the day and more than prepared to enter Kindergarten.

Couldn’t be more happy with this school. My son is thriving and enjoys going in every day. As soon as my daughter is old enough, we’ll be bringing her here as well.

Been at this school since June and my daughter loves it. I was worried that transitioning to a new school would be a nightmare but she took to the school, teacher and kids right away. She still gets excited when we drive up. She is in her big girl panties full time now and I couldnt be happier as I was struggling to find the patience. Ms. Sue did a wonderful job getting her through the potty training hump. My DD loves the music class and the play yard. The summer program has been a blast with a petting zoo, splash days, and The Bubble Lady. This is a Great school and above everything else it is about $200 cheaper than her last school. Better school for less money... yes please. - No brainer.

We recently moved and needed to switch daycares. Our 19 month-old liked her old daycare and we had a lot of anxiety about switching her to a different one. Its very nerve-wracking to leave your pride and joy with someone else for 8-10 hours a day. Well after the first day, we noticed our daughter was even happier then she was at her old daycare. She loves this place! She kicks her feet in excitement when we pull up each morning and runs in! The only problem is when we pick her up; she doesn’t want to leave! She instead, wants to show us around and show us all the projects, paintings and drawings she did that day! We love this place! This is actual preschool that we wanted!

My 14 month old has been here for only a month but we (the parents) think it is wonderful. I feel like she is learning how to be a sweet little girl and I we love how nice and bubbly her teachers are.

My daughter learned so much at Flamingo Island and I’m so confident that because of her time there she is ready for Kindergarten!! She will actually be 4yrs old when she starts Kindergarten and most of her peers will be turning 6 around the same time she is turning 5. Although she is advanced for her age I know Flamingo Island really excellerated her math and language skills. They also throw EPIC parties! I mean they are really something! I can’t say enough great things about this school!! I like how the oldest kids are 4, it’s not at like a “daycare” but truly is a school. I always felt she was safe and protected while she was there. If you can get your kid in I suggest you do it!! We are Flamingo Islanders for Life!!!!

What a fantastic Preschool! My grand daughters both attended this school and I can say I saw such a positive improvement in their development over that time. The girls loved going to school. The staff is phenomenal! They are engaged in the children and provide a very nuturing envirnoment. Wonderful place!!

Flamingo Island kicked my daughter out of their school before we even started for calling and asking for information regarding a dress code we were not made privy to.We had three meetings with them regarding enrollment, and not once was a dress code mentioned. After paying an enrollment fee, we received an email regarding uniforms. I called to ask about whether or not we needed to order them and explained that we had not been informed prior and that I was seeking clarification. The administrator became incredibly defensive and threatened to refund our money 4 times on the phone while I talked him down and attempted to explain that I was not upset, nor looking for a refund. I explained that uniforms werent an issue for us, I was just shocked by the revelation of information (and that Id been in the school 3 times and never seen uniforms). When we got off the phone, he immediately returned our enrollment fee. They later called and made up a story about her spot being no longer available due to capacity (for liability purposes, surely).It is unfortunate that my husband and I spent so much time arranging for this transition and they pulled the rug out so quickly and without warrant. Their mishandling of this situation makes me wonder how situations of real magnitude are conducted. I am baffled how nothing became something with just a minor inquiry. If you are a parent who has questions or wants to be informed about your childs school, this is not the place for you. These people are responsible for teaching youth inclusiveness and problem resolution? Now thats scary.

We recently enrolled at the Flamingo Island Preschool!My son learned so much at Flamingo Island Preschool.  He had just turned five and although he could sing his ABCs all day long, he probably only recognized six letters.He is putting sounds together and making words now.  Yep, my five year old is reading now.  In a no time with the incredible teachers at Flamingo!This is the first of many reasons why Flamingo has been such an incredible organization for our family.  The teachers are loving, but structured.  They provide a weekly lesson plan that gives me a heads up about what my son will be learning about that week and how we can support the plan at home.  They teach Spanish, piano, music and art.The amount of care that the teachers at Flamingo show the students is above and beyond what I would ever imagine for a preschool.  I cannot recommend this program enough and the teachers that work so hard to make it happen.

I have looked around for a while then i found Flamingo Island Pre-k which was opened 2 weeks before I have found them . I and my daughter loved this school. The stuff is very caring, helpful and professional.Very clean and organized.We couldnt be any happier!

We love Flamingo Island Preschool! Our soon to be 3yr old daughter has been attending FIP since last March and she loves going every day. The entire staff is caring, patient, and very active with all the children - this includes the directors and office manager. The kids stay engaged and happy about school as the teachers are constantly planning different activities including gardening, painting, cooking, singing, dancing, and much more. The activities are not only true for the students, but also for the parents as FIP has several events throughout the year for all families to participate in.We highly recommend Flamingo Island Preschool to any parent looking for a happy and clean environment for their child.

Updating my post almost 2 years ago and the main difference is at the time we were only one month vs. 2 years at Flamingo. We feel absolutely thankful to have chosen this pre-school for my soon to be kinder garden student. She excelled socially, emotionally, intellectually, etc but most importantly she was happy, and in turn so did we.Highly recommend Flamingo Island as experienced that nothing is more valuable to a parent than to know their kids are in safe and loving hands for any period of time.We are moving into a new stage in our lives and have nothing more than to say Thank You to each teacher, administrative and other staff who did a great job taking care of my most loved person and wish you continued success.Castanon and Singh Family

This is such a nurturing place for a child to go with an amazing team of caring individuals. There are many features that help Flamingo Island stand from the owners continual investment into improving the school to the curriculum that sets the children up for success, this is just a wonderful place for children to come and learn.

Our little Princess Abi has been going to Flamingo for six months, and we are so pleased with this Amazing preschool, owners, and Staff, and the education that our child is getting there. As first parents, it was a huge step emotionally letting our little one out into trusting hands. We did extensive research of many many daycare/preschools before we decided to enroll Abi at Flamingo, and it was the best decision!Abi, gets so excited, and is so cheerful when we drive up every morning to Flamingo, she can’t wait to get inside. We have such peace of mind knowing that Abi is in great hands all day, learning and having fun, and receiving best care! Everybody at Flamingo genuinely care about children, and are passionate to be there, it shows from the consistent greetings and similes at all times.

Fantastic preschool that we would recommend to anyone looking for a top-notch school.

It is always hard to leave your young one with someone for over 8 hours but Flamingo Island makes it comfortable. I appreciated that they realized my son wasnt happy with his age group (hes a october baby) so they moved him to an older group and he flourished. The teachers are amazing dealing with the kids with patience and care. The school always re-invests in the school ie security cams, playgound etc. I only wish I had an accessible online calendar or maybe I do and I just dont know how to get to it? The only thing Id wish - which probably is not possible - is to be able to log in and see that my son is doing during the day which I used to be able to do at home. But I do recommend Flamingo Island - they understand parents worries and work with the parents to put them at ease and provide fun and learning to the child.

Simply put, This is the best preschool in Richardson. Unfortunately, my daughter has only attended for two years, my wife and I only wish we had found Flamingo sooner. When we moved into the area we had her in a Montessori school, and did not like the way things were going, so we decided to shop around a little more and found a place that is truly dedicated to learning, Loving, nurturing, developing, differentiating, and enhancing the whole child.Ms. Amber does a fantastic job of engaging the kids into the learning. She also recognizes that not all the kids are on the same level of learning, so she does an excellent job of differentiating her lesson. She also maintains a perfect balance of structure and unstructured learning.Mr. Vinni is awesome, he gives lessons in piano, guitar, and drums (mine only takes piano). He has a real knack for getting the kids to higher level thinking. He also introduced the kids to the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Queen, and a bunch more.They all truly care about their students, even if a child is breaking a rule, they take the time to explain, why we have this rule why we should follow it. Even if a child is struggling with academics, or behaviorally they take the time to make sure that individual gets what he/she needs in order to be successful. This is how we know that they truly are dedicated to the childrenAll the festivals are great as well, not only are they always fun, but they provide a level of educational activities for the students and parents to do together. It is also a great way for us as parents to meet all the students in the class, as well as their parents. It has become a true family oriented community all because of these activities that the school hosts. They are also currently building a garden on the side of the school, where there is to be more activities and well as a place for the kids to do yoga, and be outside.We have felt that Flamingo is not only a great place educationally but it is also very safe. the building itself is a tornado shelter, and someone is also at the front at all times. The very few concerns that we have had, have always been addressed immediately and professionally.Over all this is the perfect school for our family, and we will be sending our new born there when she is old enough. My wife and I highly recommend this school to anyone! Thanks Mr. George and Mrs. K for creating an amazing environment for our kids to learn and grow!

Flamingo have been the best school I could find to my two kids!! And I will recommend it to anyone.Before coming to Flamingo preschool my kids were going to another school in the Richardson area. We were not that much satisfied with the old school they were going and we were actively visiting/evaluating a number of schools around the area. Finally I became informed of Flamingo through a relative of mine that were sending her son there.My kids started their journey with Flamingo in January 2015. Over the years, they have been in three tiers of classes according to their age groups. I can say I almost know all of the teachers at the school. And hence I feel like I have the authority to put forward my review :)First and for most our admiration goes to the teachers - especially Ms Jennifer, the two Ms Ambers, Mr Vinni, and Ms Eva. These people are wonderful teachers with authentic passion and action in the care and development of their students.I also believe the school cannot be what it is without the owner-managers. The owners, a husband and wife, are there at the school full-time. These level of availability by the owners could simply signal the level of commitment and responsibility that is at work at Flamingo.I can speak a lot from our experience of the difference between a remotely managed school and a truly owner-managed school like Flamingo. But Ill pass that.Last summer our family relocated to another city in the Collin county. Following that we were forced to take our kids out from Flamingo and put them to a nearby school in our new neighborhood. During our search and evaluation of the schools we had used our experience with Flamingo to grade and rank among the many schools we visited. Finally we decided to go with one of them which we felt is something similar to Flamingo. But we didn’t last with the new school for long. The school has a very excellent facility, really. But academically speaking we were alarmed to see that our children are not learning anything new ..and actually they seemed advanced to their age compared to the other kids in the class. The reason I am sharing this side story is to lead you to the final testimony: After one month in the new school we decided to take my child back to Flamingo; even though that means I will have to drive one hour from home and back to my work every morning.Both of our kids and we the parents have been satisfied with Flamingo in many aspects: the strong academic focus, the various events and entertainment, facility cleanliness, teachers cordiality, etc. The only thing I can mention as a point for improvement is space. Compared to other schools I have been able to visit Flamingo is smaller in terms of facility size. And sometimes it feels like it is crowded. Nevertheless, Flamingo is the best! I just hope they would find a bigger place so that they could accept more students.The eldest of my two kids is now in kindergarten and her reading skill is rated above her peers and is at level of 3rd graders.Kudos to Flamingo teachers and managers!

My son was here for a year and now he is going to kindergarten.We will really miss the Flamingo.Great balanced curriculum!

By Far the best preschool in the North Texas area. This is a family oriented institute, where your precious kid/kids will be take care of.Me and wife first gave our daughter in an corporate high end institute called Primrose, and my 2yrs old daughter cried everyday when I would drop her off, this went for atleast a month or so, where as, the norm is your baby will maybe cry for the first few days, or a week the most. I could tell teachers were not caring in there. But, after starting at Flemingo, my daughter did not even cry a bit on her 2nd day there. in Fact, every day, she was excited to go to her school. They do a really good job in trying to fill in for the parents. From the bottom of my heart, anyone looking for daycare a preschool for their toddler, this would be the place.

I do not like shopping around for childcare. My child is almost five years old and I still have the mom guilt of dropping him off at school so I can go to work. Or at least I used to. When we first moved to the area, after leaving every school we looked at, no matter how nice the staff was, I would cry and fret about the necessity of leaving my son with them. Except for Flamingo Island. Immediately on entering the building I was at ease and comfortable. A small school, it is nevertheless bright and airy. Ms. Susan and Ms. Angela, the school administrators, greeted us with such unfeigned enthusiasm and warmth that I was shocked. My son immediately fell in love with this school, so much so that HE decided he wanted to go here.I say again, Flamingo Island is a small preschool and still very new, barely a year old. The student to teacher ratio is wonderfully balanced. The administrators and my sons teacher are very communicative with us, between daily written reports and discussions when we pick him up every evening. The curriculum is structured but no overly so which I feels allows him to learn and yet still be a child. In his classroom he can choose to play in the various centers, which include a computer and Ipad center, or just sit in the circle area and read. He has a music class and a yoga class weekly, and it is such a delight watching him show us his favorite poses when we get home on yoga day. An added bonus, weve found a wonderful way to calm him down when he gets too hyper by having him focus on his breathing, which he learned during his yoga classes!The outdoor play area is adorable. There are toys and playhouses for the kids to enjoy. While I do slightly lament the lack of swings or slides (what child doesnt enjoy a ride on the slide?) the play area really has a backyard feel to it that we enjoy.It should be noted that this is a peanut-free school. While this started as a bit of challenge for us as my son loves peanut butter, the staff was very helpful in giving us alternatives. He loves helping me make his lunch now, even if he is requesting the same thing everyday.I cant say enough positive things about Flamingo Island. Between the friendliness of the staff AND the children (I get hugs from almost all of the kids in my sons class when I pick him up), the curriculum, the price, and the overall feel of the building (which does have a separate room for indoor play/pageants), I have finally been able to let go of my mom guilt, an unexpected perk.

This is my first review but after reading the food allergy warning below, I felt compelled to comment. Flamingo island could not be more committed to children suffering from food allergies. My child suffered from a debilitating disease that made him allergic to almost every single food, and Mrs. K and her staff could not have been more accommodating.To say they went above and beyond would be an understatement. They provided my child with a special table that was just his and made a big deal about his special food to make him feel important and not like an outcast. Theyve been not only accommodating, but instrumental to his his health and well being as the level of care and compassion theyve shown my son has been unparalleled.Not only that, but he has improved significantly in his education since the daycare he was in previously. He came home singing ZYX instead of ABC at three!The campus is clean, SO cute and fun, welcoming and warm. They have fantastic events involving friends and family. I feel so lucky that we found FI when we moved to richardson. It really is a gem. I could not say enough good things.

Flamingo Island was an absolute blessing!! We were at a different place last year that we had been at for awhile for my 2-year-old and 5-year-old. All sorts of horror stories happened there, including several occurrences of lice, and my 2-year-old (a baby at the time) falling out of her high chair - and much much more. It was at the last minute we realized exactly how bad it was, meaning everything in our area (East Dallas) was full - especially for two kids. We were desperate...BUT Flamingo Island came to the rescue!! Flamingo Island is easily 30 minutes from our house, but close to my husbands job, who got a new job last month closer to home. All that to say, THE DRIVE WAS WORTH IT!! This place is phenomenal, worth every penny and worth the commute for us. Leaving last month was incredibly hard, as my eldest enters kindergarten in the fall (Dads a teacher so home for the summer). At her amazing Pre-K Graduation Ceremony, I could barely even speak to her teacher Miss Jennifer, because I was so overwhelmed with gratitude that I kept crying (and I am not a crier - but Im welling up even as I write this). But it wasnt just me. The entire staff participated in the graduation and everyone was in tears. Ms. Kay and Mr. George gave heartfelt and emotional goodbyes and Mr. Vinny taught the kids Green Days Good Riddance and played it acoustically for the ceremony. These people are invested in your kids. It hurt them to watch them leave. But they were full of pride for how far the kids had come. It was incredibly moving.The day-to-day things you have to know are:1. Top-notch security - cameras everywhere and a keypad on the door. At our old place you had to knock on the door, because the doorbell was always broken. Seriously, I need to go write a review for that place next. :/2. Incredible Staff - these arent babysitters, people, these are educators. Both of our girls made tremendous strides in their year at Flamingo Island. My two year old barely talked and struggled with motor skills, but now she is a loud-and-proud force to be reckoned with who can say her ABCs, count to 15, knows all her shapes and colors, etc. My five year old is practically reading, knows site words and has been accepted into an elite private school (too bad we cant afford it - public school here we come!). We didnt see any significant turnover while there, and had consistent teachers for both of our girls. They also have parent-teacher conferences so you can check in on how your lil one is doing. Oh, and my girls adore their teachers. My five year old cries every other night about how much she misses Miss Jennifer (dangit, Im crying again). Thanks, Miss Jennifer. :)3. The Facilities are Impeccable - Again our last place was dirty, but I didnt know it was dirty, because I just thought thats how a school with 50 kids looks. Flamingo Island is SO CLEAN!! The rooms are freshly painted, artwork lines the rooms and hallways, and theres always soft music playing in the lobby. Theres even a pleasant smell that overtakes the place - my last place was a combination of bleach and Pine Sol (I mean, really). Oh, and at our last place, the teachers had to clean everything at the end of the day and you could tell they were pooped and overworked. Flamingo Island has a service that comes in and cleans leaving their teachers to do what they do best. And guess what? No lice. The whole year, no lice outbreaks.4. The Events - The school had several events throughout the year, including Parents Night Out (movie night for the kiddos), a DaVinci Day Art Show, a Mothers Day brunch and so much more. They really put the extra effort forth and it shows.Our hearts hurt to leave Flamingo Island, but we are so much better coming out than we were going in. Thank you Flamingo Island for all youve done for our family. We cant thank you enough!PS - this ONE guy who wrote a negative review? What are you talking about, dude? This place is squeaky clean and these people are incredible. You clearly have anger issues. I wouldnt admit you either.
