My kids have been going to Casa since 2015 and I have really enjoyed watching how much they kids are learning and growing. I love the fact that the Montessori method is taught and how more traditional methods are used as they get older. Im fluent in Spanish and was struggling to teach the kids Spanish at home. Now they are both completely fluent in both Spanish and English and are doing really well. I love they are encouraged to think independently and self manage their work because it teaches them independence and self management which are huge skills to know for middle and high school.

Casa Esperanza is a wonderful school and community. The teachers are dedicated and care about students deeply. Casa has been through a few transitions, but I believe is heading in the right direction and continues to improve. Casa is one of only a few charter school to meet growth standards and receive B level score from the state. Casa sets a very high standard which is important to me, especially since NC does not always compete well nationally. The immersion program and Montessori education offered are almost impossible to find else where tuition free.

We are in our second year at Casa and are so happy. My children’s academic growth amazes me- they are happy to go to school everyday and their Spanish is great! Our teachers are so warm and nurturing and have gone far above my expectations to care for them not only as students but for their entire well-being. We love this school!

We have been at Casa 4yrs, my kids are doing so well I decided to join Board committee last year and Volunteer to be PFA officer this year. I believe so much in our school and in the staff. Our teachers, education and community are best. Both my kids have different learning method, the Montessori style works best for our family . One child can take time and get help, the other one can excel and doesn’t have to be at the same level as the peers .

This school has increasingly frustrated every single inch of my soul. They constantly change rules all throughout the school year. For the first month I didnt even know my son was to BRING HIS LUNCH TRASH HOME TO BE THROWN AWAY AT HOME!!! Yes, they have trashcans on premises! If you want to pick up early it must be by 2:15pm when school doesnt officially end until 3. If you call to talk to the head of school she certainly wont call you back. If you happen to schedule a meeting with her shell simply not show, without any notice. If you call to ask a question about YOUR child and ask for a call back, you could seriously sprout a baby tree before theyd get back with you. This school is a total and complete MESS. Not to mention that the teachers simply ALLOW your child to sleep through half the day or the entire day of school instead of WAKING THEM UP TO LEARN. This establishment is a very sorry excuse for an educational establishment and I can not be happier that my son will be in a completely different school next year. They need to work on a LOT of things to improve their processes, procedures, and communication skills with parents and staff alike. During this school year alone I believe at least 3 Upper staff members have left or turned in resignations. I guess the Head of school feels if she isnt going to be working there much longer she doesnt need to call parents back or commute with them. Its really unsettling to have your pride and joy in a school like this. I didnt listen to old Casa parents whom said, THINGS ARE DIFFERENT!!! We removed our child after the old H.O.S left. I wish I would have.

Casa is like my second family. My son has been going to Casa for two years and I couldnt be happier. Casa provids a peaceful and structured environment, where student are always learning independently. My son has been reading and writing in cursive since kindeekinder and that is the normal for Casa student. Casa is teaching its student about global diversity, peace, and how to be kind to one another. The teachers are kind and thoughtful. My sons teacher goes above and beyond for all of her student. Most of the teachers know all the students by name and when you are at Casa you do feel apart of the team and family. Hope you are lucky enough to experience Casa for yourself.

This is our first year at casa. During our search for schools we knew our base wasn’t an option so we “shopped” around for an alternative magnet. A HUGE pull for us was the Spanish Immersion. Like many parents, I too encountered the negative comments and unhappy parents. Instead of going off hearsay I visited the school and absolutely fell love with it. The love and dedication shown by these teachers is so comforting. Both of his teachers are native speakers, and just within half a year his Spanish skills are beyond anything we could have done at home. My kindergartener is learning to read, learning life skills, and is even writing in cursive! I am go glad we made the choice to give Casa a chance. Without a doubt my youngest will also be applying when it’s her turn.

This place was fine, until the principal Ms.Nunez came in. She has destroyed this schools name and purpose. She is very rude to parents and has very many of our favorite teachers... This school is just terrible. Want your kid to go here. Dont think about it. They dont care about your kids at all. You can see by the way they treat the children.

Some teachers target other kids. One of my teachers had a favorite student who didnt get in trouble even if he deserved it. That kid would say bad words and when we would tell the teacher she would do nothing about it, yet when i poked him with a pencil i get sent to the office. Thats the way the teachers treat us in this school.

Long time parent leaving because of high high teacher turnover and an unethical board. Ask about new law that only requires 50% certified teachers in charter schools . This once was a great school but after a long long list of great teachers leaving, I am pulling my child and going back to public school.

Please look elsewhere for a productive, well-rounded, stimulating learning environment for your child with teachers and faculty/head of school that GENUINELY care and want your child to succeed. My son got lost on his first day of Kindergarten there and said that he was crying in the hallway scared and unsure of where to go before an adult finally approached him. His teacher, Ms. Goodman, was horrible and should not be allowed to teach kids AT ALL. We had an end of quarter parent teacher conference, in which she was very ill-prepared and could not even identify my child’s strengths vs weaknesses, or what he was even working on in class at that time. He was immediately targeted and labeled within one month of starting school there. We attempted to speak with Ms. Nunez, the head of school, to see what could be done to rectify the issues that we were having with our son there and she was too busy to meet with us in person in a timely manner. We then decided to email the school board about our issues/concerns and they seemed to care less as well. We decided it was best to withdraw our child from this traumatizing environment and thankfully he is doing soo much better at his current base school! We then spoke with other families who had coincidentally pulled their child/children out of this school due to extreme targeting/labeling issues. There was even another family whose son had this same exact teacher previously and he had similar issues there as well and they pulled him out after a month and he is doing awesome now! This made us feel even more confident in our decision to remove our child from this harsh, stressful environment. Please do NOT be fooled by all of the fakeness that they will surely exhibit on the tour. They only care about money/funds/donations and not the genuine wellbeing of your child! Save yourself the future headache and stress and look elsewhere. There are a lot of ONE and TWO star reviews here for a REASON and we should have listened to them!

I am a student at this school. I am writing anonymously because that is the only way that i can share my views. This school was great until i hit middle grades. Then 7th grade was good. Then when i got to 8th grade things spiraled out of control. The vice principal was fired in 2017, leaving the principal in charge, Ms. Nunez. The 7th and 8th grade have to SHARE a field trip when last year we got separate. I find that unfair because this is the 8th grades last year at casa, so I believe we should at least have our own field trip. I will continue this review later.

IM done with the school we could be talking at a small table quietly and theres like a a table with like 8 people singing and we are doing something THEN we are the ones in trouble also theres people that do cartwheels and jumping around screaming and we are the ones in trouble like whaat how actually how, she said im going to the principals office because she gave me the option to leave and i left cause she told me to and then she says im getting a respect violation. I try to make something called the I have a problem box and we write a card and put it in there then the teacher reads it out loud, but she didnt she didnt want to look bad WOW and its sad i had to make a complaint box.

Good school. Students really learn a lot and are getting prepared for high school when they are in 7th and 8th grade, but a few good teachers left and the replacement are okay. The only thing ur child will have to learn is how to open a locker and sit in a desk for the whole class period instead of sitting on the floor (school has rugs where the teacher sits with the students for lessons.) They will do well with a lot of homework and assignments since the student have a lot to do. It has a very friendly environment and the student get to really know their teachers. Good school when I was there.
