Excellent supportive staff

One of my family members goes to OBT and they love it there. The way that they encourage their dancers to pull through and dance their hearts out is just stunning. They encourage students to return daily to practice their technique and master the arts of ballet. The teachers are highly experienced and teach with kindness but also with intelligibility. OBT is one of the best things thats ever happened to her, and Im sure youll love it too. Their annual performances give the students a chance to dance with their peers and show to the public the different techniques that make up ballet. They are given a chance to dance with the company artists and it is a good experience for all. Highly recommend to anyone with a dream or who just wants to dance their heart out. Every day youll finish class and learn something new. OBT teaches their students that corrections are not failures, and that all dreams are achievable.

OBT has always been an amazing institution of dance education, inclusive and a special place for all ages. The response to Covid-19 has been truly above and beyond, pivoting quickly and providing a space for the students to maintain a sense of routine and community. Thank you all the teachers and staff for creating an unanticipated, but unforgettable, season for students and parents.

While its nice to have big ticket ballet in PDX, OBT is pretty inside the box for this town.
