I am glad that 92.3 gave me this opportunity and I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor for my medical assistant program, Mrs.Hickey!!!! Mrs. Hickey is such an inspiration and motivating instructor. She is an instructor any student wants and needs, she was always there for me and thought me and pushed me through, she never let me down and neither any of her students. I never wanted to miss a day in lab because I will learn a lot. As we were in this pandemic she still always encourage us through zoom classes. She wants the best for all her students and if anyone ever joins NWC and gets Mrs. Hickey as their MA instructor don’t worry your in the best hands ever, you will grow lots of love for her. She knows what she’s doing. Labs were always fun with her and all the girls we were like a squad. You will have a good time. Love you Mrs. Hickey (if you ever get to see this).

After losing my job due to the Pandemic of 2020, and realizing that my former industry of employment was changing, I decided I needed a change in career, but being out of high-school for over 20 years and not knowing where to begin (other than researching my options), I wanted to go with an accredited college/program, that would not only teach me in an appropriate time frame, but also assist me in job placement after graduation. After narrowing down a few choices, I began to email each one and immediately an inquiry was made on the colleges behalf to me and from speaking in that moment with Virginia (admissions rep), and hearing what North-West College had to offer me, someone with ZERO experience in ANY medical field, but with the desire to learn, it was a no-brainer to chose NWC.Financial Aid was a quick and easy process and I was set to start my new program/career in Medical Billing/Insurance/Coding in a only a few short weeks, that is how easy the process was, and with classes starting throughout the year, ensured a timely education process! Which meant a lot to me, as Time was of the Essence for me to get myself back into the work force by the time the pandemic slowed down. The first 6-weeks (pre-req) are more of a study session and learning the characteristics of someone who is on the path to success, and my instructor was Mr. Fam. He had a wonderful teaching style that got you to think and look internally to problem-solve. This class is great for preparing students how to study to get the most out of their education and I learned a lot of great real-world lessons, that I didnt know before!Ms. Marquez has been my instructor for my remote classes via Zoom (again, due to pandemic) and has done an excellent job adapting to the situation and ensuring we have all the materials and resources available, just as they would be on-site. She really goes above and beyond with guidance and explaining something foreign to most of us, in a completely understandable way!Our Campus Director, Ms. McIntyre, is also vigilant about doing weekly/bi-weekly Zoom check-ins with our classes to ensure we are set up for success and always offers her time and services. All in all, I have had an amazing experience learning from this college. It really opened up my eyes to the possibilities that are out there, and there are so many more than I could have imagined. I am set to flow into my externship soon, and I know that NWC has prepared me exceptionally for the new medical billing/coding workforce of 2021...AND BEYONDDDDDDDDD (::in that Buzz LightYear voice::)Thank you everyone who has helped me and to all my awesome classmates-See yall at Graduation!

This school has awesome staff, they are all very helpful and friendly. This is my first year of attending and I have met wonderful people specially at Dr. Samy Mansours class, at the beginning it was a challenge, with a full time job and school I was ready to quit, but just pay attention and focus, thatll do it! Dr. Samy is a wonderful and understanding person, he can be a little strict but its a good thing he really helps you when you dont understand something. Thank you Dr. Samy and take care. All of the staff really shows they care about you and your education. Mr. Lucas Fam was my instructor for SOS. He always asked us if we needed any help or wanted to talk about the subject of the day. He made coming to class very easy. Shout out to Mr. Fam, Youre the real MVP! (:

I am a graduate from the LVN program at Pomona Campus and I would like to say a few words about my experience at North-West. Starting out I was very nervous and that’s an understatement because it is a competitive class up until First Term. I sure did struggle but I asked for help, in SOS I had a great instructor that made medical terminology and dosing calculations fun. In my First term I had another amazing instructor that was full of knowledge that not only taught us in an incredibly interesting way but she also had a lot of work experience as an RN. This instructor followed us until the beginning of Term 3. Then we were introduced to a very colorful man who was very wise and experienced himself through the rest of our 3rd term to our 4th and final term. I also learned a lot from my clinical instructors who gave us tough love and discipline. Because of their guidance I was able to witness so many procedures and experience hands on training. One thing that I would like to advise on is to be a good classmate, unfortunately I went through a lot at school with my classmates and at times I felt like I just wanted to quit because I couldn’t stand them. This is by no means the schools fault. But I survived and I pushed forward. I might have not ended up with many friends but I wasn’t in school for that purpose.Although many people want to complain about staff and such... I would like to state that I never had a hard time with staff. Yes there are times that they have to bear bad news but that doesn’t make them mean or bad people! If you treat people with respect and dignity you will be treated as such! I had great help from the financial aide, front desk, counseling, management, and from the ladies that helped make my resume and gave me my transcripts! When it came down to finals and the Exit HESI best believe all I did was study in the library. Practice makes perfect and the Evolve portal was a lifesaver! I felt equipped for my finals. My instructors provided extra questions to practice test taking skills as well. Once I passed I was excited but I wasn’t quite done. I started HESI BOOTCAMP which is optional but I highly suggest!!!! I did it only to want more and that’s when Mr. Montano the NCLEX GURU lol as I call him was there every step of the way! I bought my NCLEX review book and went back to taking practice tests everyday until I was scoring high consistently... which trust me feels like it’s never going to happen, but you get there eventually!!! He gave me the okay to take my exam and I signed up as soon as HE said I was ready.Don’t try to speed the process to only fail. I finished my program in July and took my NCLEX in September. I took the long and patient route and now I’m a licensed nurse! Today marks my 1 year anniversary of working in the medical field as an LVN! I sure wasn’t ready for COVID but that didn’t stop me! I’m truly grateful to have come to this school! Wish me luck... I’m in the midst of starting my RN program! I also would like to wish you luck... whoever reads this. This is for the people who actually wanted to know how the program was like... for the most part!

Since the decision to becom a nurse, after a lot of comparison, finally I chosed to come to this college to study, and facts have proved that my choice was correct. This school is famous for its excellent educational facilities, especially its high teaching quality.I especially like and respect my current teacher Dr. Samy Habib. He is knowledgeable and has many years of experience as a surgeon. He has rich practical experience and can answer almost any medical and health questions you asked. His lectures are funny and humorous, and he is good at using his performance to make you understand easily and deeply. Talking about the emphasis of his lectures, especially the knowledge concerning the safety of patients lives, he is always extremely serious and earnest, and reminding students to keep in mind.He cares about his students and his teaching. He always wants to teach his knowledge to students as much as possible. I can always feel that his real job is not only teaching, but also making great efforts to make you to be a capable, serious and responsible nurses.I love my teacher, Dr. Samy Habib, a lovely old man, a forever friend!

My daughter and I have started the LVN program last month. We highly recommend this college. MR fam was our first teacher and he was patient with us and helped us when we didn’t understand and was willing to explain things more than once and he made class fun. Our second Teacher was Dr samy this was the first time that he started teaching the Pomona campus and I hope that he continues because his wisdom about the medical field was amazing and he was not only patient with us but he is also a very humble man and saw us as equals and NEVER made us feel like he was better than us but saw us as equals and was willing to help us in anyway that he could. We are looking forward to our new journey in nursing and I hope that you consider coming here. It will be hard work but you will have the support that you need

Such a horrible school. My teacher was an office manager so never had time to teach us, was always busy on the phone we would just get a packet with work we had to do. The homework was so much and had to be done in 3 days or youd basically fail that week. EVERY WEEK. We never got lectured so nobody ever understood the curriculum. My teacher ended up quitting and we basically had no instructor for over a month. Everything was outdated. The staff never interacted with new students just the old ones so it was very uncomfortable. Some of the staff was rude, like the front desk for AM. Financial aid just gives you the run around and is never clear.. when i left they told me i owed money that i didnt even owe. Overall this school is a fraud and i regret ever going here. Save your money and look into a REAL school because this is a waste of time.

I wouldn’t recommend this school to anybody I know. It’s best to attend an actual college that takes time than to be in one where everything is rushed and you feel as if you really didn’t learn anything. They mess up your school time along with your socially hours you have to finish in order to graduate. It’s a common situation that happens and when you say something, they ignore it. Save your time and money.

Terrible school. The Pomona and West Covina campus. Went here for an entire year and approached graduation within a week and was forced, or shall i say, Kicked out because of a confrontation that forced me to defend myself against two other students. Because of my race, i was discriminated against and treated very unjust. I recommend US Colleges if youre looking for fast efficient programs with great teachers and courteous staff. I just completed a 4 week program and ive received my NHA in phlebotomy. They also offer MA. Dont waste your time or money like i did with this school. Good luck!!

Great teachers and staff here at the NWC-Pomona campus. I have cousins and other relatives and a couple of friends that I referred to this school and, truly, all have steady careers now in the field they graduated from here. I myself am an alumni and now Im back to further up my career in their promising VN program. The staff here are very approachable and friendly. Teachers are very well educated and know their stuff. I actually learned something that since elementary school we are taught but just now, these past few weeks, I was really finally able to understand it! Thanks Mr. Fam our SOS instructor.

I was a student their a few years back and let me tell you at the beginning they made it seem like it was all great and worth my time, but when i started all hell broke loose they were trying to be strict on things. My teacher was a manager @ a Drs office and didnt do anything for us she would walk in the class room give us a packet and put our work on the board then just sit their and do nothing! she would hire the students that kissed her rear the most! then she left on a personal absence and we didnt have a teacher for a while, suddenly we got our new teacher but she was a former student as well and didnt know what to do with us or for us. I graduated in 2010 and i still cant find a job!!!! (bad enough its a competitive career) they say they will help you but they dont even bother. Now i hear that the new grads will get a job in 30-60 days because North West has to find them a job or the they wont be recognized as a good school. What about the people that bust their rear hard and did everything we had to, it wasnt our fault that somebody didnt do their job right but we gotta pay for it! some things just arent fair!!!!
