Loved our time at AMC! My son was there for a little over a year and he has thrived. The teachers and staff are so involved and truly care about the kids and he loved going to daycare every morning. They follow Montessori methods closely, and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a high quality daycare for their child.

The WORST customer service I’ve ever received from a school. The man first hung up on me twice and after calling the third time he finally answered. Upon answering I told him I had a few questions and he told me to go. I asked if they only do full months and he said no, we will work with you on that. Then proceeding to explain my situation, he speaks over me and then says oh no no no we can’t do that. All I was asking was for 2 weeks at a time, 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. That’s the set schedule that I have with her out of state father. Then, after asking him why he wouldn’t work with me it was because of 10 years of experience and that the kid was going to act out or act poorly. I have a very wonderful, smart kid, which would be the reason in spending the extra money to put her in a Montessori. I thought he was very rude and I’m genuinely confused how they received the award of “Best Montessori of Plano” with their current customer service.

My family and I hit the JACKPOT with AMC. I was so scared to leave my 12 week old baby with complete strangers for 40 hours per week. They did EVERYTHING they could to put me at ease. Over these last 12 months, they have become part of our family. My son absolutely LOVES them and I can see they love him too. I’m so thankful for all these ladies. If you need a place to send your child, this is definitely the place!

My toddler went to AMC for 2 years. She absolutely loved her teachers, especially Mrs Almas in the infant class. We moved and I had to switch schools but they have been a blessing for us and had I stayed in the area my daughter would continue to go here. We are very thankful to you guys and appreciate all the love and support we received throughout these last two years.A special to thank you to our favorite care giver Ms Almas. We started my son at AMC when he was 3 months old. After vetting a few preschools in the North Dallas area, we felt most comfortable driving 13 minutes to Plano to take him there. It was the best decision we made. We recently moved south of Dallas and the drive was too much for us, so our last day was Friday. It broke our hearts to have to leave AMC. Everyone made the first day the easiest for us as a new parents dropping our baby off for the first time, and everyone made it hard to take him home from school for the last time. Thank you to all of the teachers and staff that have loved on our family over the past 18 months; thank you for all you have done to keep our little one safe during the pandemic. We will never EVER forget you!

It doesn’t get much better than this...My son attended AMC at age 8 weeks until last week when he graduated and started Kindergarten. In his 6 years at AMC, we’ve had nothing but a wonderful experience. Not only have they become a part of our family, but my son made countless special memories and friendships. They truly love and care for your children as if they were their own. They excel in academics at all ages. My son has only been in kindergarten for a week and I can already see how well prepared and confident he is in the education ahead. Luckily our 10 month old daughter has followed in her brother’s footsteps and will also get to experience everything AMC has to offer. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for something so much more than child care.

This school is absolutely amazing! My kids went there for 4 years (we moved and it was too far of a drive now) and loved everything about the school. The teachers and staff are caring and compassionate and take time to get to know you and your family. As a working mom it is a comforting feeling to know when you can’t be with your kids they are still in good hands and that’s how I felt every day my kids were at AMC. I truly can’t say enough good things about this school and am so grateful for the time my kids got to spend there. If your looking for a good Montessori school with a great staff and exceptional education this is your school!

His current teacher, Erica, is absolutely wonderful!I’m grateful for all of the amazing women working here and look forward to watching my son grow at AMC. So sad! We went there and performed a traveling play with 6 of our child actors and the daycare kids and teachers loved it!! Our actors did a wonderful 30 minute show for ages 1.5 -5 yrs and then posed for some pics with the kids afterwards and danced. As we left we heard some of the kids saying things like, That show made me so happy!.Then I went to the front desk and told the director how much the kids loved the show. The director said she was paying in full for the show today for 84 kids and was canceling the other show for the summer.I asked why they were canceling and she said there were other activities that they were going to do instead. I said, well there must have been something that went wrong for you to cancel the next show.It was then that she was truthful about why she was canceling. Shewas upset that we did not arrive 30 minutes early to set up. Our show was scheduled for 10:30am. I had communicated to the daycare that morning that we would arrive at 10:30am, because we were coming from another show but that we were already in costume and it only took 5 minutes to set up. We arrived at 10:30am and we were set up and ready to perform by 10:36am.Also this daycare told us that they mailed their deposit check a week ago, but that was a lie because they did not mail a deposit check at all. She paid in full today without even a mention of a deposit being mailed. So sad for the kids though because they loved the show so much! I would not want to send my child to this daycare with the director acting this way, upset about 5 minutes, and not being able to communicate truthfully, when the kids loved the show so much!REPLY to Response- We talked with the daycare at 10:10am this morning and told them that we would be there at 10:30am and that it would take 5 minutes to set up. In her reply, she acts like we did not communicate with the daycare of our arrival time. After I left the review, the director called us yelling. I asked her not to yell at me. She lowered her voice and said she was not yelling. She said that another reason she was canceling was when we got to the daycare, we did not greet them properly. We have 6 kid actors that perform and 2 of them got to the door first to set up the curtain. She said it didnt matter that they were kids. She has other vendors that greet her properly.

Our baby has been going to the school for about 9 months now. She absolutely loves it.She has been in two different classes at this point (infant 1 and infant 2).She has learned so much since starting, I am surprised at how quickly she has advanced in terms of vocabulary, gross and fine motor skills and other domains of cognition.Additionally, the teachers truly love the students. The teachers have an impressive tenure at the school. Our baby’s first teacher has >10 years of experience at AMC and the second teacher has about the same. You can tell the people in charge of this place, including the individual classroom teachers, know exactly what they’re doing and they take their jobs really seriously. So far, our experience has been great. They have accommodated pretty much every request that we’ve had and most importantly, our child has thrived while under their care.

We started my son here approximately a year ago when I started working again. While it took him a while to acclimate, he loves going to school and will happily greet all of the staff and other parents. They were pretty accommodating when he needed outside help and seem to know all of the kids. The one criticism I would have is that there is no organized parents night out or other events that would help the parents get to know each other and give them a better feel for who their kids are fiends with. The few times Ive interacted with other childrens parents theyve also indicated that it would be nice to have more things like this. However, my primary concern is how well a place meets my sons needs, and I think that theyve exceeded my expectations over time.

My rating is based off of my interaction with a school representative who identified herself as the owners daughter. My partner and I went to tour the campus with our children with the hopes of enrolling our 1yo that day. We got there close to closing and had an abbreviated tour because of that as well as the fact that we toured the facility a month or so prior. The guide showed us two rooms and explained certain school policies and tried her best to answer the questions that I had. Several questions she stated that she would have to verify and call me back. I was fine with that. Because there were 2 different rooms I asked her which room my son would be in and she explained that there were multiple openings in both rooms and that she didnt know. To respect their time we left so that we didnt hold up their evening to return the following day with everything we needed to enroll. The next morning I received a call with notification that the parents of another child had come in put down their deposit and paperwork and therefore there were no more spots available but my son would be placed on a waiting list. I explained to her that had I known there was only 1 spot available I would have completed my paperwork the day before prior to leaving or would have at least left a deposit to hold the spot. Her response was to tell me that she had already apologized, that there was nothing else she could do but put my son on a waiting list and that shes pretty sure she told me there was only 1 spot available. If that were the case, IF in fact she did explain that to me then there would have been no reason to call me the next day to explain that the spot had been take. But I digress. Then she further stated that she was the owners daughter and that she just completed the bar so she only helps out occasionally and is not always up to speed on the enrollment. When I protested that her mistake placed me in a bad position and asked if there were a contingency plan she stated that she didnt like my tone and that there was nothing more she could do for me.After reading some of the reviews I see why she wasnt very accommodating and was carefree about how her actions reflected on the school. I cannot give a statement about how the school is with the children because I have not experienced that recently (I did when my oldest daughter went there on a trial day and came home without her sweater that was never found and with strep throat. But that years ago and is an entirely different issue from this.) and therefore cannot provide any further opinion about it. However, my experiences thus far is enough cause for me to not only write this review but also not consider the school in the future.

I wanted to write a review as a thank you to the school since we are moving and I am devastated to have to transfer schools. I was lucky to have my mother living with us until my son was 10 months old so it was very difficult when I had to put my son in daycare. I found AMC through reviews and I am so grateful. The teachers are amazing (special shout out to Ms. Lynette who I have grown so attached to) and you can tell that they really love all the kids. I adore when I peek in the window and see my son getting a cuddle or warm smile. Especially when he first started daycare at 10 months, he really needed a cuddle and to sit on a lap when he felt anxious. The staff were so patient and he has grown into such a confident and vibrant toddler (he is 18 months). I give the staff so much credit for the lovely little boy he has become. Mama had to catch up and learn the sign language he was using and now his language skills are developing right on track. No matter what time of day I have dropped in to pick my son up, the kids are always engaged in an activity. I saw so many daycares where the kids were just milling around and seemed desperate to engage. It was so important to me that my energetic son learn how to focus and American Montessori Campus always impressed me.The owners of this school keep it running very smoothly and are always there if you have any concerns or questions. I was so in love with how my son was treated here that I spent an extra hour in the car each day because I knew this school was giving him the love and attention that I felt he needed after having his first year of life with grandma.Thank you American Montessori Campus. I know you have given my son a wonderful start in life.Sincerely,Christine

We currently have one of our children at AMC, the only reason we moved our oldest out of AMC was because he was starting Kindergarten. We sent our son to AMC for 3.5 years and we can say that much of his growth can be attributed to AMC staff and teachers. The care, concern and warmth that they have shown towards him is tremendous. Simple things such as reassuring words from the teachers, words of encouragement when faced with an obstacle have had a great impact on him. He is encouraged to learn, try new things and most important of all to be independent. He started AMC as toddler and graduated to Kindergarten.Based on the growth taken by our son, we enrolled our 5 month old daughter (at the time she started) at AMC. Put simply, we love this school. Our five-year-old and three-year-old boys both attended AMC from the time they were babies up until we moved to a new town two months ago. When I toured AMC five years ago, two things struck me: the peaceful learning environment and the sense of caring from the teachers and staff. The classroom environment at AMC is very calm and orderly, without being harsh and controlling. The children still have lots of fun, but are not loud, disruptive or chaotic. And the staff and teachers treat students and their parents more like part of an extended family than customers. They were personally invested in the physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being of my children, and I felt quite secure every day leaving my kids in their care. The owners, Ms. Afia and Mr. Mazhar, and the director, Ms. Sarah, were always very in tune with our familys needs. When my oldest son broke his arm, we had to keep him home for several weeks to give his bones time to heal post-surgery. Ms. Afia and Mr. Mazhar were gracious and accommodating during this time. And when one of the boys was sick for more than a couple of days, we would inevitably get a call from Ms. Sarah checking on him to make sure he was OK.And all that doesnt even touch on the top-notch curriculum at AMC. I love the Montessori system, which emphasizes both practical and academic skills, gives the children some freedom to choose their activities, and keeps learning fun. I was continually amazed by what new knowledge my children would come home with each day. Continents, state capitols, addition, subtraction, just as examples--all at a Pre-K level. My children learned all about different countries and cultures as well, something I think is very important in this interconnected world. And AMC offers great facilities and a variety of on-campus, third-party extracurricular activities.I cannot say enough good things about this school. We miss them every day--I wish we could have moved AMC and all the people there with us to our new home. I highly recommend AMC to anyone looking for a daycare/preschool in Plano.

DO NOT COME HERE! Please take your child somewhere else. The people at this school cannot be trusted! I enrolled my infant part-time from March through May, paying nearly full-time tuition ($850 vs $975) for 5 hours day, three times a week. When we came in to sign the contract, they were very much in a hurry and didn’t explain much. Ms. Sarah seemed uncomfortable when I asked about their policy on withdrawal, she ran out in the middle of our meeting several times for one reason or another. She glossed over everything without ever mentioning the details. I have read other negative reviews prior to bringing in child and thought I was being overly cautious. I signed the contract and paid deposit of $660. When I came home I wanted to find out more about their withdrawal policy but realized that page was missing from the handbook and they never gave me a copy of the contract I signed. My work schedule was very irregular and they were willing to accommodate, allowing to bring my baby in any day within the 15 hours a week limit, and since I do not work much in the Summer, they agreed to let me pull my baby out for three months (June, July, and August) while still being registered. By July, my job situation has changed I would be able to stay home to care for my baby. I called the school director/owner Ms. Alfia to give her 30 days notice that we wont be returning at the end of August. Ms. Alfia then told me, “since you didn’t provide (a written) 30 days notice I will have to divide up your deposit over 2 months.” I had no problem with that arrangment. She promised to call me back to verify address. It was now September and I never heard back from her. I called 4 different times, each time I got excuses that they will have someone call me back, and never did. Finally I received a check in the mail for $200 (out of $660) with no explanation or reason for the discrepancy. I immediately called the school, The co-owner Mr. Mazar picked up and said he knows nothing (even though I was told he was the one who cuts the checks) and I needed to call back another time. I called 3 hours later and spoke to Ms. Sarah who told me “the owners are out of town” she then stated that they had to charge $400 because the deposit applies to the last 30 days of enrollment. My issue now is… if they were going to charge me for the last 30 days why wasn’t this made clear to me two months ago so I could utilize the hours I paid for? And why $400? nowhere in the contract states that they are allowed to charge me for services they never provided. What’s more upsetting is that Ms. Sarah added “You got $200 back, that’s already very nice! They usually don’t give back anything.” Folks, these people ripped me off of $400 and if that’s considered nice, imagine what else they are capable of doing? This is very bad business ethnics! These people do not honor their words. I will post my comment to EVERY SOCIAL MEDIA site and let everyone know the kind of people they are dealing with. They are nice to you to get you hooked on their contract, but you will not leave them without paying up. Please take your children elsewhere! I have spoken to my lawyer and we have a strong case. I am giving them 30 days to refund my full amount of I’m taking legal actions and take them to court for failure to disclose full extent of contracture agreement, failure to honor verbal agreement, and for unspecified punitive charges. This is no longer about $400, this is about integrity and the principles of things, you simply can’t charge people for service you never provided! If I have to go to court over this, I will sue not for the $400, but for my child’s entire stay at this school for duping me into signing a contract without disclosing all the information as well as for my lawyer fees. I will update with the progress of this care so all the parents are aware.

I had the pleasure of working here during my internship. It was my first hands on experience with Montessori. I have spent many years working in traditional education. I learned more than I ever imagined at AMC. The first thing that struck me was how the school came to be. It is truly a beautiful story of how a passionate educator and dedicated parents were determined to create a place where children would be safe, loved, and be able grow. It was really shocking to see how advanced the children were compared to the average traditional student. Now, I realize that the standards in most schools are far too low. I read one of the posts that said that this place was great for playing, but not for learning. This is a clear misunderstanding of the Montessori Method. To the untrained eye Montessori materials look like toys, but that could not be further from the truth. Having studied many theories and methods, I have frequently been disappointed with the end results. That is not the case with Montessori Method at American Montessori Campus. I watched students reading and doing math three years before they will even be introduced to it in a traditional classroom. Students aren’t limited by the curriculum the way they are in many other methods. What I can say about AMC is that they have taken the time to invest in having appropriate materials and finding highly qualified teachers who not only do what they do well...they love what they do. You can really feel the difference. I have learned so much from my time at AMC. It has a feel that I hope I can bring into my traditional classroom. They have a space that welcomes in the curious mind and sets children on a path to love learning. That is a priceless gift to give a child. When trying to figure out where to send your child it can really be tough. There are many questions and concerns. Will your child be safe? Do the people there love children? Will they develop and be ready for school when they leave? AMC has one of the few programs that can answer yes. I am heading into a traditional school and miss them already.

Hi, my 27 month old has been attending AMC since she was 3 months old and I have NEVER had a problem with them. I recommend them to anyone I speak to about child care. From the very first day I went to tour the school, I felt extremely welcomed and comfortable with leaving my child there. I actually visited 11 other facilities before visiting AMC and I did not feel even near the level of comfort with the other schools as I did with AMC. The owner, Ms. Afiya is beyond wonderful, she even hugged me on my first day leaving my little one there after maternity leave AND called me half way through the day to let me know how my little one was doing. This did not just happen when my daughter was an infant, this has continued even to this day. They call me with ANY issues as soon as they happen. I feel extremely comfortable leaving my child there every day. Even when my child moves into a new classroom, it is clear that my daughter is comfortable also with her new teacher. I consider my childs reaction to the school a DIRECT result of how the school is being ran. As she is there every day all day and sees how things are on a daily basis. The staff is wonderful, the owner and her husband are there every morning and afternoon and always speak to me and more importantly call my daughter by name. Even teachers who I have not even met call my daughter by her first name when we are walking through the halls. I could not think of a better place for my child to be during the day while I work. My3yr old son came home last week(6/24/2014) and kept saying for few days that his teacher hit him. When I told Ms. Afiya, the owner/ director, that My son was saying his teacher hit him, she immediately denied saying very rudely, and unprofessionaly that her teachers do not hit students instead of her saying she would look into and try to figure out what happened to my son. On the top of that, she ended up calling police on me because I had to talk back to her when she was talking to me very disrepectfully. Seriously I could not believe how ignorant and rude she was to me from the begining of our conversation. I took my kids out of AMC right away. Actually, she kicked my kids out that day(6/26/2014) and did not even want to refund the remaining 2 days of tution for June. Of course I already filed complain to Texas Department of Familiy and Protective Services for Child Care Inspection. Overall, I am glad that I found out the real side of Ms. Afiya early enough so I would not have to waste my money and another years at AMC. This school does not even deserve one star in my opinion.

So far its been great! I give it four starts, because I noticed that some of the teachers are not very patient with the kids. Other than that, the staff has been great. I appreciate how clean the place is and organized the gals are. I think I speak for most parents we look for the following items in a excellent school, and AMC has met most if not all:--Healthy and safe environment for our kids--Clean rooms/clean toys-- to avoid kids getting sick so often (I give AMC the highest ratings on this one)-- Educated/qualified/PATIENTteachers - (AMC needs a little work in this area)-- Education for our kids. After all this is a Montessori institution!-- For the school to Interact with parents.--Smaller group learning- so that kids get more one-on-one time. (important)--Staff compensation and work environment (so that teachers are happy to come towork--in the end this directly affects our kids)--Organized in every level from front desk to all the classrooms. This is crucial for the success of our kids and school!--communication communication communication!!!I could go on and on, but these are extremely important for me when Im looking for a the best daycare for my child. So far AMC is doing pretty good! Ill be rating this daycare every 6-12 months. I believe this will help parents make a good decision on where to leave their child. Ill keep you all posted. Cmon AMC keep making us proud!

We have been apart of the American Montessori school for 3 years. My daughter started when she was 3 months old. I researched many different schools and instantly fell in love with AMC. The facility is clean, it has a great teacher:student ratio, they are flexible, and I received multiple referrals. I love the fact that the owners are so incredibly involved, accessible and present each and every day. Miss Afia makes her students her top priority. Additionally, we have loved every single teacher my daughter has had the pleasure to work with. I have been amazed at how at such a young age, she has demonstrated a superior level of independence. She has been learning Spanish and has known how to count to 20 and all of her colors in Spanish since she was just over 2. We recently moved to the Frisco/McKinney border and despite the distance, I never considered moving my daughter from AMC. I truly feel she has received a superior education.Lastly, I consider it is a great sign that when I come to pick her up, my daughter runs up gives me a hug and then runs back to play with her friends. She is at home at AMC. A big thanks to Afia and all of her staff!
