I prefer Encanto over the last school my children attended. For the short amount of time they have attended they have excelled further then when they started at their last school. My kids love their teachers and I love how my sons teacher takes the time to work with him!!

Encanto is an amazing school!! We drive more than 30 min each way every morning, and its worth it! The teachers are so caring and loving. My children run off to hug each and every single current and past teacher. We have the best teacher of the year for AZ for 2017!! Mrs. Doherty and most teachers here have amazing reward systems that keep my two girls engaged and excited to go to school and do well. We also have this years Esperanza Awardee, Mrs. Aguirre. With her partner in teaching, Ms. Fox, they make my 2nd grader want to go to school and learn. The special ED program is also incredible! My first grader has grown tremendously under their care and support! And instead of feeling labeled, she feels special. I am very sad and worried about only having next year left here for my now 2nd grader. I feel at ease to leave my kids here because I know they have a network of supportive adults that truly care about them. Keep it up Encanto!

My child attended this school and unfortunately I was forced to withdraw him with only a few months left of the school year due to him being mistreated by a second grade teacher named Kelly Griffin. This teacher seems to focus more on punishing her students than actually doing her job which is to TEACH them. She punished my son for struggling with his reading by making him sit out for recess and expected him to magically teach himself how to read above his actual reading level. She also had knowledge of his nut allergy but yet she put him at risk by giving treats with nuts to students in her classroom and telling my son she will bring something for him another day. Not only was it dangerous for him but he felt left out as well. I spoke in person to her about the nuts twice and she was very defensive about the issue and said she only did it because it was a gift someone had brought for her class, instead of her informing this person of my childs severe nut allergy or not giving out the treats to anyone, she just allowed it. When my son told me these issues were reoccuring after I spoke with her I then decided to reached out to her about everything via email so I would have documentation regarding the issues but she ignored the emails, avoided being around me in person, and she told my son to stop tattle telling to his mom because it only will make things worst. At that point I took that as a threat and went straight to the District to speak with the superintendent who kept directing me to speak to the principal who seemed to be to busy to have time to speak with me because he would never return my calls even when I left messages for the front desk. My son ended up missing a week of school before I withdrew him because the principal refused to take the time to hear me out and address the matters. I was repeatedly ignored and avoided by the the teacher and principal but I continued to stress the issue because something needed to be done about how that teacher treated my child. So I contacted the school board director and then all of a sudden the principal and superintendent was willing to speak with me. We set up a date and time that was after school hours so I had my son with me of course but when we arrived they refused to have the meeting with my son around which made no sense because they needed to hear from him how he feels and they should have specified before the meeting for me to not bring my child if they did not want him apart of the discussion which was regarding how HE was treated. I said we could have a phone meeting and they agreed but then the superintendent said she will not talk to me on the phone if I was around my child, which is absurd. Now mind you again it was after school hours and I am my sons primary caretaker so he is with me when he is not in school and they had knowledge of that but they still refused to have the meeting. I then told them this is not over and of course the principal tries to say that is a threat and tells me that I am banned to go on the school campus which clearly that was not a threat because trust me with all the frustration I had I could have said a lot worst if I wanted to make a threat. I refused to have my son return back to Kelly Griffins class epecially after being so called banned for absolutely no reason. Given the circumstances I was practically forced to withdraw my son and struggled to find another school willing to accept him so late in the school year. Still to this day they have not addressed the issues nor have they reached out to give an apology to my child and I.
