Lapetra did a wonderful job on my hair, she took her time and curled every piece so beautifully. I definitely recommend her and she was very knowledgeable about the health of my hair. From takedown to wash and blow dry, she wasn’t too heavy handed either. Definitely will come back to see her. Love my curls so much.

I came in town from California. My daughter took me and my grandson here to get our ends clips. CREE did my hair and she did exactly what I asked of her. She was very professional . While waiting on my grandson I got a manicure and pedicure from her. She did great. I know by the time I come back she will have graduated but if you go there definitely ask for Cree she is worth it.

I am a student at Empire beauty school,and am finally graduating after almost 2 years in night school. Its been a long journey. I have learned so much and am truly grateful to all the instructors and staff. Especially the director Mona,she has gone above and beyond to always help me when I needed it. There are alot of stylists here that are truly gifted and awesome.the prices here are very affordable.

Love this school! Its home away from home to me. My classmates and staff and educators are my new supportive family. Raneah BarreraHi my name is Joseph and I’m from Denver, Colorado. I Flew in Wednesday morning to visit my good homie Jorge and his lady Raneah. Who is attending Glendale Empire Beauty School. The morning I flew in we had a visit inside and I noticed it was real friendly. The lady at the front desk up Ms Alice was real nice and she signed my homie Jorge and I for a line up with one of her peers that does haircuts Marquel. It was very convenient and he did a good job for both of us. And the very next day Raneah who is studying to become a professional cosmetologist had a appointment with her grandma to cut her hair. It was a big chop so she went short but it looked very nice. After she was done cutting her grandmas hair Raenah also managed to squeeze two facials in for me and Jorge. The facial was fantastic and almost put both of us too sleep and she left our faces cleaner than ever. Overall the two visits I had there was great and I wish best of luck to everyone there. Especially my good friend Raenah.

I tried out this beauty school...they are inconsistent insensitive and very unprofessional. Yeasterday, if I would of not called...I would of drove 45 minutes to an empty appointment. No one called me knowing the stylist called in sick. However, talking personally to the stylist Simone...dedicating herself the next day to provide service for me and my child’s hair...Still did not show....aaaaand however, they still did not call me to reschedule nor advised me ...soooo I still drove the 45 minutes there and 45 minutes back. Very upset and will not ever be coming back here.To me it does not matter how good a person is...if there’s inconsistency,... I will find someone else who has it... Peace...Empire School of Beauty✌🏽

I am currently enrolled at the northwest Phoenix location and I absolutely love it ! I know the students and the teachers try their best everyday. Even though there has been issues in the past but it shouldnt reflect on the entire school completely. I see so much potential in the students here. If anyone decides to enroll here please do because you can learn a lot from the teachers here. Also this location gives the students a diversity of hair textures to work and learn from :)

Raenahs haircuts are fire

Overall my expierence going to empire beauty school has been a great one. Be prepared to know you are not going to learn it all right away. this is an industry where you must challenge yourself if you want to go far. Your career is what you make it. So the learning process is slow at first but great . I specifically love the location I go to because it is very diverse you get an abundance of different clientele. Dont be afraid to ask questions because in the end its only going to help you.

I got a great cut Jan 6 2015. When I called to make the appointment I was greeted with a friendly voice and she was very helpful. When I walked in the door I was greeted with smiles and was helped through the sign in process. I found the greeting staff friendly. The student stylist was in constant contact with her trainer, who by the way was awesome too. The cut I have is best done with a razor, which is not as common as scissor or clipper cuts and my stylist took her time, did it right...as good or better than some cuts Ive had from high priced salons. I liked how the instructor showed her the fine finishing touches to make my cut look professional. I will definitely go back.

I go there whenever I need my haircut, Miss Patty who is one of the Best Professional instructors I have ever had the pleasure to meet. The students who cut my hair do an excellent job, of course by the time I come back they’re graduated and off to bigger and better things. I am a regular customer!

Reminder:students/trainees. Go more than once to get a feel for a good favorite. Morgan is good cordial and works on getting it right Be prepared just n case allow time should you have to wait. Bring a book or mag. Besides you can always leave. There are other Empire facilities

I must say this is a well put together establishment everyone here is very nice and welcoming Ms. Patty and Ms. Cathy will make sure they appoint you to the right stylist for the right job. The hair stylist student Sabre is very good at what she do I will recommend her as a choice you will not regret this place!

Hey to everyone this is Valerie Sanchez, I am currently a student at Empire Beauty School about to graduate. I have to say it is the best decision Ive made to attend here!! Ive experienced nothing but positive vibes from my clients they speak highly of me after every service they experience from me. My instructors have taught me so much and have challenged me and pushed me to go above and beyond my skills to also want more out of life than the ordinary. No matter what is going on for the month, whether its a competition, fundraiser, donation our school has had for us, Ive participated and won many events each month, excelled in everything my instructors have asked of me and Ive won a scholarship of $500 towards my tuition. If you have a positive mindset you attract a positive lifestyle, if you apply yourself you will be successful and I am grateful for the opportunity and experiences Ive had since attending at Empire Beauty School because I am ready for the real world, all the challenges to come and most importantly the success that awaits me.

Very negative experience. Start of with when I first walked in and standing at the counter finally someone can in. Never said a word to me, I said hello someone will be with u in a moment she looked up at me and replied, oh I dont work up here that girl does and pointed to someone across the room. I looked at her name tag and it was the executive director. Very bad service to start with. then it took 2 hrs to just get my hair wrapped for a perm ( i have short and thin hair)that was after the girl got help to get it done. I asked her if she had just started school and she said she was getting ready to graduate. After all said and done my hair is fried it looks horrible and very frizzy. I cannot believe how bad it looks. So bad I am thing about having to shave it off. Never again will I go there.. Oh almost forgot when she rinsed out my perm my shirt was soaking wet all down the back. They had to blow dry it for 10 minutes and it was still soaking wet.

Ive tried to work this out with them privately but they dont reply to their own info line to get back with you. My experience with an appointment was a 45 minute wait. I booked a facial because Ive done them at other beauty schools and wanted to try it. It was not a good experience. There was no teacher supervision and my face was scrubbed so hard I peeled and flaked. It lasted a total of about 20 minutes. No skin evaluation, no allergy info taken. Very unprofessional and will NOT be going back ever. I just sent some pictures of my reaction and asked for a refund. They e-mailed me back a few weeks later and said no one really checks this e-mail and asked a few extra details. I provided them, e-mail about 2 weeks later for a follow up and nothing.

Worst people I have ever came across. Made me cry and disrespected me several times as well as repremended me like a parent to a child in front of the hole glass. Im good with all that. And also place is very dirty. Its a no ⭐ in my opinon!! Sorry empire get some better instructors. Reading word for word out of a book does not teach well..and when your students ask question you should answer them instead of saying I just showed youBless you all your in mynprayers.A.M.L..

First and last time there. I understand its a school, but the receptionist should KNOW approximate wait times. I was told 20 minutes. Took me that long to get there so it would have been perfect. Upon arriving I was told a few more minutes 1 hour and 20 minutes later I asked the instructor how much longer it would be and told her how long Id been waiting. She went into her diatribe of telling me this was a school, these were students, etc. I told her I understood all that but that the receptionist shouldnt quote a wait time then. So instead of telling me how much longer, she told me, We dont even have to do her hair. She was very rude. My 4 year old granddaughter listening as she said this also.

I went to get a perm the lady that did my perm was not very happy she had to do a perm she let me know she didnt like to do a perm her name was Stone she was very impatient pulling my hair rolling it and unrolling it when she put the solution on she didnt even use the whole bottle when she went to rinse my hair she didnt rinse out the chemicals out of my hair completely she barely put water on it Ive been there I know how perms are done I know they have to rent some well before they put the other solution on and then make you wait 5 minutes that never happened she was just trying to rush through it my hair is fried I had to cut it all off Im very disappointed and I hope she looks for a different profession she kept hitting me with things dropping things on me clips spray me with water she almost poked my eye out with a comb very disappointed worst perm ever. Ive been there before I have perms there before I was satisfied thats why I went back but I will never go there again I regret going there my head still hurts from her pulling on my hair too tight

These people are more worried about the money than the student or their education. They don’t listen to you on the phone when you’re trying to enroll into their program, and they don’t tell you that there’s a fee until you’re about to go for your appointment. I am a single mother working paycheck to paycheck trying to go back to school to make better money and better our lives,This is not the school to do that at apparently. Empire does not care about you. Spoke with two people one of these people was the director, $25 and unprofessional people held me back from enrolling. And the program is $25,000! You’d think they’d have financial aid for even the $25 so all are able to attend and receive a much desired education in Cosmetology.

The servers was very bad. The lady that was doing my hair was was very rude and she seemed that she didnt want to do my hair. She would pull it very hard, and the results were very bad. Would not recommend.

Currently enrolled here. The only thing i can tell you is DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I graduate in a month and haven’t learned anything really. Besides the things I’ve had to teach and help myself through because the teachers never wanna be a teacher until it’s time to get someone in trouble. This place is a joke! $20,000 right down the drain. Haven’t been helped to get a job. Haven’t been taught state board. Super disappointed.

I will NEVER GO TO THIS SCHOOL AGAIN !! I told the dude two inches and cut my layers and he none of that two inches my ass he cut like 1 foot of my hair. My hair was up to my waist now its up to my shoulders because of him !! And he said that girls would love hair this short. I was so mad I finally had my hair the length I wanted then he cut it all off. 9.00 maybe cheap but trust me it would be better to go to a professional then a student.

I went to get my hair dyed & they did a great job. It came out beautiful! Plus, my stylist was was patient and professional

This school is a waste of time and money if you dont have the resources you need to bring in clients once you make it onto the salon floor. They also seem to trick the men who want to earn a barbers license, not telling them until theyve already enrolled that they do not offer that. When I was attending here in 2011, any type of braid work being done (ie cornrows, twists, knots, etc) did not earn you any points towards your grades. You have to keep so many hours a week or get kicked out. Not one person I know that graduated, still to this day have not used their license! If you want a career in this field, I would suggest going to Paul Mitchell or elsewhere more deserving of your money.

Do not attend this school! Waste of time and money! I attended this school for 2 weeks this summer. Instructor of over 60 years, was late almost every day the very first week. The classes are mixed with students who are farther along than I was so it was almost like my instructor was just expecting the new students to know certain things without really explaining them right away. The breaks in class well exceeded their 15 minute time and many students wouldnt come back on time and the instructor would want to wait until they got back which is a waste of my money. My instructor did not speak proper English as well as most of the students there, if you want to learn how to be a professional this instructor is not a good guide. She also did not explain things in a way that was very thorough and understanding, I was digging and scrambling asking questions because I was not given enough information. Dress code was always broken. The kits we received were honestly a joke! You DO not receive high quality products although there are a few. The makeup you receive is the same for every person (including foundation) they do not match your skin tone. The very small skin care bag I received is such poor quality with colors in it like red #40. I did not receive a nail brush or sculpting liquid nor acrylic powder. The school was also dirty, the lunch room was disgusting I actually had to speak with the director my first week there to see about why its not clean and I also spoke with him about the frequent tardiness of my instructor and he claimed he would fix these things but days later my instructor still wanted to wait 15 minutes past break for the rest of the class. Also the location is shady the first week I was there a student robbed the kit display and stole everything. There was students who did not want to be there the atmosphere is not good. Students were falling asleep, students had major attitude and would frequently leave school due to frustrations with the instructor. The class I was in including my instructor would mimic how Valley girls/preppy/white people talk and it was offensive, annoying and unprofessional. Dear future students, YOU ARE BETTER then this school. Do not forget that the people you hire to educate you work for YOU. Never except something below your standards. I now attend a school that is professional, clean and high quality. Everything I received in my kit was fantastic. They work with the highest end products and thats what they give you. I received an extensive nail kit, professional color matched mud make up, top of the line shears and many products they they use for the hair, bumble and bumble! The new school I attend was and is the same amount as empire. My mistake costs me over 2000 dollars. I am so happy I left this nightmare! Save yourself!

Absolutely horrible. I would like to preface this review by saying that I have my WA state cosmetology license and usually enjoy getting my hair cut at a school. Its typically a fun environment and I love supporting the students because Ive been in their shoes. I even brought a frappucino to give to the student who would be doing my hair as a treat/thank-you. To start, it is impossible to find the correct phone number for this location. I called two of the numbers that were listed for the Glendale location and got the wrong place each time (the first one was for a different Empire location and the second was for the corporate admissions office). When I was finally able to reach them this morning, I made an appointment for a 2 p.m. haircut. The individual on the phone was curt and didnt even take my name. They just told me it would be fine to come in at 2. I arrived a few minutes early only to see no students and no one at the front desk. When I was finally greeted it was by Heather, an instructor there. I let her know I had an appointment and she told me everyone was on lunch at that time and would be trickling in soon. When I asked why no one told me that on the phone, she said she didnt know who I spoke to on the phone and offered no apology. I wasnt in any hurry (getting your hair cut at a school takes time) so I sat down to wait. Over the next 10 minutes, the students and other instructors did indeed trickle in. As more people came in, Heather distractedly tried to find a student to do my hair. None were to be found and she even made a joke about flunking the bad students who hadnt shown up yet. Another 10 minutes went by and there still wasnt anyone available and no apology was offered. I was trying to be understanding, but then I saw Heather outside on a smoke break (a student had to track her down so that the customer she was finished with could be rung up). I used to be a smoker too, so I understand, but seriously? She couldnt wait a few minutes until she rustled up someone to help me? Why did that poor student have to hunt down her instructor? With this, I simply walked out. Nobody cared about my time or that I was there at all. The instructors are a completely unprofessional and horrid influence on their students. I am wholly unimpressed with this school and urge you not to waste your time or energy with this sham of a learning institution.

If you decide to go. Go full-time and get out of there as quick as you can!

Lobe Love Heather upon walking in very friendly and attentive, Id ask a question and she knew the answer right after Id ask, we waited about 40 minutes or so and which is very understandable being that it is a Beauty School and then Ashley Navarrette called my daughter back and oh boy was she the nicest soul that Ive seen in a long time, and another Student Valarie Sanchez was on the floor as well and she was very pleasant and friendly as well, and it being a Saturday morning when these ladies could be at home with their families are here and with a beautiful Smile😆 and my daughter is getting her hair and Makeup done, I am so pleased with the staff, I WILL DIFFENTLY BE BACK!!!!😆

Im a current student and Ive had my blow dryer, straightener, and scissors stolen either directly from my LOCKED locker or when I left my work area to get supplies. The staff DOESNT care, in fact Ive had to buy all new tools, how am I supposed to succeed if my tools for success keep getting stolen? Yet Im supposed to have a happy face? Dont come here, its a waste of money, time, and energy.

I dont recommend this school all they care about is a check the teachers are horrible ms patty is the best one they have by far she should run the place. I will never go back

I was hoping to get my hair colored, but I was unable to because they needed to do an allergy test and th is test has a 24 hour turn around for new customers.... Better luck next time.
