Great studio for all levels, the intermediate class with Eva is amazing but not for the faint of heart!

This place is fantastic. I used to come about once a month for ballet classes before having my second child. Just went back yesterday for the first time in almost two years, and it was even better than before!Fang is an excellent instructor. I’m an adult who never took dance classes as a child, it’s strictly a hobby for me. But I felt included and like I could keep up with class.

I knew Koresh since 1997, but havent taken adult ballet class continuously after almost four years ago. I was discouraged by my thoughts that ballet is for children and teenager only, and it would be too late for an adult like me to start learning. Eva and Fang who have been my ballet instructors have guided, cared, and given me so much encouragement and made me realize that Ballet is for everyone regardless their ages. I found at Koresh that students will have an opportunity to go to the next level as long as they put their heart fully.

Best dance classes in Philadelphia. Best ballet, modern jazz and hip hop. Great kids program! Roni’s talent as a choreographer and strong dancers of the company is exactly what he brings to the classes...professional, exceptional and great teachers. Brilliant. Friendly front desk staff. Very inclusive of all.

Evas ballet class is wonderful. Shes everything I ever wanted in a ballet teacher. I love watching her move. The stretch and strengthen class is a great workout. Kevan has a great way to break down how to do the movements to make it understandable.I chose Koresh because I wanted a real dance school. The ballet instruction is legit and worth the price of admission. They were loyal to their existing customers and extended the dance cards expiration dates when covid closed the state down and quickly offered online classes. Nothing but good things to say about the owner and office manager. I recommend Koresh 100%.

As an adult who always wanted to dance ballet but did not have the opportunity as a child, Koresh has been a godsend. I’ve been taking ballet classes with Fang, Eva, and Tommy for nearly two years and have progressed from an absolute novice to learning pointe by taking 5+ classes a week (yes, I have a full time job). Whether you’re an adult who wants to seriously learn classical ballet technique (Vaganova), or you danced as a child and want to get back into it, or you just want to move and stretch, Koresh is perfect. The studio offers evening weekday and weekend ballet classes from intro (no experience) to intermediate (years of experience) levels, making it possible to train and progress, even as an adult with an entirely distinct career. There are other dance classes as well - all taught by dancers that are incredibly skilled, knowledgeable, and passionate. In contrast to a few old reviews, my experience of the studio has been undeniably inclusive. Regular attendees run the gamut of age, skill level, race, orientation, gender identity and expression. I cannot recommend Koresh more highly and will continue to take class for years to come.

I love Koresh. For me, its a nurturing environment and the teachers love what they do and have fun and I love the variety of adult classes because they challenge me. They are not as easy but easy enough for a beginner and an intermediate/ pro dancer as I am. I appreciate Koresh and the growth I gain in every class

The best dance studio in the Philadelphia area offering a wide variety of dance styles from ballet, to hip hop, to modern, to jazz, to stretch and strengthen classes. All of the instructors at this studio have impeccable resumes that demonstrate a high caliber of talent and professional experience. They often run class card sales which helps a lot of aspiring professional dancers afford to take classes and keep their technique in tip top shape. The facility is beautiful offering 2 HUGE dance studios along with 2 smaller ones. And not to mention, it’s right in the heart of Rittenhouse square!! You can’t get better than this.

Ive been taking class here for a year- and I keep coming back even though its a ridiculous commute I come when ever I get the chance. Ive taken Ballet, Jazz and hip hop with several of the instructors here and I have enjoyed each class- I feel challenged and inspired every time I step on the floor- and it makes my heart sing EVER time I leave to catch the train.

I love Koresh because the quality of the experience is unmatched in Philadelphia.Fantastic, classes and instructors!I love Koresh most because as a life long dancer who didnt go pro :) I am challenged and grow from the adult classes offered here. I tried for years to find the right dance class fit and it was not until Koresh that I found a balance of professionalism, FUN, technique and education about dance and the body.Brilliant!

To address some other comments Ive seen, Koresh Dance and their policies are on par with other dance studios I have been to. The front desk staff is always professional and never rude. Additionally, the 3 month time period to use 10 classes is very generous, but if you know you cant take class more than once a week, the class pass may not be a good fit for you. Having almost witnessed my home dance studio fold, it is important to realise that running a successful dance studio is neither easy nor cheap.Still, the pricing per class is very competitive, and they do offer discounted rates for students, etc. Especially for the caliber of teaching (I can only speak for ballet with Amy or Eva), the fee is more than fair. They provide some of the best adult teaching Ive seen, and are comparable to big companies like the Atlanta Ballet or Washington Ballet.

Terrible policies and rude staff. Also, this place is expensive and its not worth the extra cost. The first time I came here they didnt tell me there was a $5 first class special. Right after class I came out and asked for credit in my account and they refused. Ok didnt have, but the next week I bought a class pack. These things expire super fast. If you miss a week, youre out of luck. If you go on vacation you have no chance. On top of it all, they have a ridiculous $25 credit card minimum, which is above the cost of a single class, which is $20!Dont waste your time here. When this place goes out of business the owners can kick themselves for hiring rude staff and running the business into the ground with stupid policies.

Ive always wanted to take a hip hop class and finally did it! I took the beginners hip hop with Tyger B and it was a blast! Challenging, but not so much so that it was discouraging. Tyger instructed really well, working to give everyone attention as they needed without circling anyone out or babying. Im looking forward to returning

Fantastic place to dance. One of the only places that offers adult classes taught by qualified, experienced and talented professionals. Alexei is fantastic! (Teaches ballet) He has taught me so much. You will not regret buying a class card here!

I came specifically for one instructor, she made my experience, however, I stopped going because of the climate of the space. Studio culture felt a bit standoffish, and when I came in to take class the staff member assumed I came to take Hip Hop instead of the ballet class I was scheduling. Why would I come to Koresh for Hip hop, youre in Rittenhouse?

I took class here for about a year because it was the only good option for advanced ballet in center city that fit into my schedule. The ballet teachers were terrific and this review does not reflect the adult ballet teaching staff. It reflects the rude administrative staff and the general sense of the culture of the building. I could not wait to get away from the administrative staff every time I was in there, and Roni as a teacher was terrible in his admonishing of students in his modern class. It felt like being in a highschool classroom and I never went back.If you have limited options in Philly the adult ballet classes are good, however I would encourage you to support another business with better policies and manners towards customers.Ive relocated and can say that not having this as my last resort dance studio has lifted a weight off my shoulders. Also, if youre reading this and thinking about starting a dance company in Philly, go for it! Better options are needed.

Major prejudice issues.I have multiple disabilities and they were HORRIBLE!I am a little person and I need to use a small barre for correct alignment. The one day I got to class less than an hour early and Someone was at the only short barre they have.I asked the blonde bimbo to simply share and she claimed it was a single use barre. I have used the same barre with three of us at that barre.WHY DO YOU HAVE ONLY ONE SHORT BARRE?!!!Left and never went back.

My daughter is very happy at Koresh! She takes four classes a week, and always enjoys here instructors and her time there. Eva Szabo (ballet) is wonderful, shes excellent with technique and very kind! We were at another serious ballet school in the city, and left because of all the drama and nonsense. The front desk administrator was also a nasty hag who screamed at the kids all the time. Plus, unlike the other school we attended, its in a great neighborhood, and there are no crazy, hyper competitive parents hawking around, jabbering at each other, and the front desk is really nice. If you need to get work done while your kid is in class, its quiet and peaceful. Because its i a good neighborhood you can shop or run errands on foot you can and feel safe. We love it!

I had a horrible experience with this company. I signed my 3 yr old daughter up for class over the phone. No one explained the return policy to me. When my daughter refused to participate in the class for the first 3 classes i thought it was unwise to continue bringing her and asked for my money back. Koresh Dance Company refused. They didnt even offer to use those funds for her to try again when she was a little bit older. Thats some customer service! I feel that I have been wronged and hope that no other parent pays $475 for these classes and doesnt receive services.
