I’m one of the 2021 alumni and i can genuinely say this is an amazing school. When beginning my high school process it was very difficult but with the help of GLA their academics and amazing reputation i was able to get into 7 high schools .. THANK YOU GLOBAL.

I used to work here and yes look at others schools for your child if they don’t have family who actually work there because baybee…The school is very much so family oriented family bond meaning family thing tend to family yall get my point…

I am a 8th grade scholar at GLAW and it is a pretty good school overall. We have excursions where 6th grade we went to Atlanta and stayed for 3 days, and 7th and 8th grade we had the opportunity to go out of the country 7th grade was Canada, but since I took French classes and am a top scholar I had the opportunity to go to France. I didnt go because of the global pandemic. Also the teachers are somewhat nice. Some teachers may favorite certain scholars, and they have poor communication and are last minute. I have attended this school since kindergarten and now am about to graduate. I am a honor roll student and am In the National Honor Society. Our school is has sports team such as basketball, track, and cheerleading. And our curricular is pretty good if I say so myself, Math, Science, Global Studies and ELA. Most students graduating from GLA attend good high schools, speaking of High School, staff do help with the High School process including High School essays etc.

I have observed this school because my child has been attending since kindergarten. I believe they have a great curriculum. SOME great leaders & teachers. However I do believe in my heart they show favoritism towards all the kids based upon, they’re behavior, they way they look, and who they’re parents are. YOU HAVE TO BE AN ACTIVE PARENT IF YOUR CHILD ATTENDS THIS SCHOOL!!!! The woman staff here are just regular people and they can act very unprofessional. The communication sucks. THIS IS WHY YOU HAVE TO BE AN ACTIVE PARENT. IF YOU ARE NOT.... Your. Child will not participate in things YOU KNOW they are qualified for. They will not be acknowledged for Any good they do. SOME OF THOSE BLACK WOMAN ARE MEAN AND BITTER FOR NO GOOD REASON . We have to do better. I STAND ON WHAT I SAID 100 % BECAUSE FROM MY EXPERIENCE THIS IS WHAT I HAVE GATHERED. Since my children love it, I love it too. The teachers dont look at the scholars as just students. They begin to form relationships with these young people. They are not just teaching them the fundamentals, but they are also setting high standards for them: including how to dress, the proper way to eat, manners in speaking, etc.As a parent, I like how they expect parents to get involved with their children progress. We are giving reports on how we assist and interact with our children and the school activities. Again, I will say if my kids love their environment then I love their environment too.

Was at Their gymnasium for a Basketball game, I was very impressed with the Facility and the staff.

We love this school for our child. The teachers are highly trained and committed to providing the best education possible to our children. Its amazing how much attention they give to each scholar to ensure that they make great academic achievements. The teacher and parents relationship is very important to their process and the teachers make no mistake about informing you of this marriage.

My daughter attends here, so far so good .. just praying it stays like that.

I put in for the lottery for my daughter to go there for kindergarten. She got in but they didnt send me the information of the good news. Some employee at the school when I called said, they put her on the bottom of the list. She also said they dont email, they just sent a letter. I didnt get anything!

This school is horrible the communication between parents and staff when staff is in the wrong is not to cater to the parents its to make the staff feel better, my daughter was being bullied her whole first half of 1st grade and nobody noticed they only noticed my daughter bad behavior come to find out the behavior was coming from the children bullying her it wasn’t until the child that was the biggest bully fought a teacher that they took inconsideration what I was telling them the whole time. Imagine working and always thinking about if your child is being treated right in school, this school is all about image and not the well being of the child. Bullying can lead to many things with a child and I’m not sure if it has affected my daughter yet but I do see a change in her attitude please be aware of your children you want to believe the teachers but you want to always protect your child/children.

Worst school in west philly an the ceo an her staff are working on a second worst, most of the staff an the children that attend global leadership academy or family members or related in someway the principle is rude very disrespectful the CEO is rude very disrespectful the teachers most only stay for a year the children that attend this school that has a learning disability do not get the education that is needed for them the CEO do not want to pay for The child’s testing for IEP’s she also do not want to have special education in her school she caters to most of the staff children The staff children that attend the school if they are late they get to still go to Classes if your child is They have to have a late slip the staff bring their children in Pizza checkers or so takeout, for the staff is also able to heat up their children’s food but our children have so bring healthy foods the food that is served in the school is horrible the children are there from 730 until 4 o’clock most of the children do not eat until they get home the parents are not informed, The homes school from our children they resell our children uniforms that are left inside of the school with the children name on them the staff take the uniforms that are left there and use them for their children that are coming into the school they pay volunteer parents a stipend that supposed to be every six weeks the parent will not get the stipend for three in four months she have parents working over the clock and do not get their stipend parents are standing outside In the cold just to help provide staff for her school because she do not want to pay the school needs to be looked at further do not send your child here if you care about your child’s education. My children attended this school and I had to go to 440 once or twice a month just to get help with my child’s IEP she set goals and do not reach any of them with the students. She also do not allow the parents to come to the board meetings they are open to anyone . She Takes taxes from the Stipend that supposed to be given to the parents for volunteer work .

Great school. With a very qualify staff and a nice environment, I have nothing negative to say about this school. Except for the fact that only goes to the eighth grade.

This school sigh...... I wont even go into detail. Dont let your child go here, the teachers have so much favoritism its not even funny. The reviews that have 5 stars are the staff themselves. The school (environment) is actually clean other than the yard but the quality of the school is bad. From teachers to students to even the CEO and principal they all are rude, disorganized, and the staff steal from the kids pocket (2 dollars to dress down on a half day.) Believe it or not the teachers want the students to fail their class. Just saying if you let your kid join the GLA FAMILY or whatever, your kid will feel left out, betrayed, and wronged.

One question is this school hard to get into?I really want to go here it seems like a good school!

This school is a very good school this is my daughters first year and she loves it and I love it as well the teachers dont think of the the children just as student they think of them as future leaders of the world !!!!!!! Also this school is a very safe environment.
