We were very impressed with there recent dance recital at the Coral Springs Performing Arts. The quality of the entire show was far beyond what we expected. The dancers, costumes, back drops and music were all well choreograph. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the theme (We are the world) and thought it was well suited for the current crisis going on around the world. We would highly recommend this dance studio as they teach core valves instead of competition. My daughter is super excited to be a part of this great team. Thank you so much Ms Rachel and team!

I have danced with Academy of Arts since I was four years old and am now a graduate leaving for college in the fall. I have had nothing but great experiences with the studio. They have made me feel welcome by being able to take all different styles of dance. I have trained in ballet, hip hop, jazz, contemporary, flamenco, modern, and musical theatre.This last show was truly spectacular, and I will forever be grateful for being able to dance my last year. Ms. Rebeca did everything possible to make sure her dancers had a stage and theatre to perform in. She worked hard even though the place was rented for two days, and used at only a 25% capacity. Regardless, the same effort was put into it like any other show as it contained clean and well-rehearsed dances.I have enjoyed branching out of my comfort zone by continuing to share my passion for dance through my favorite style, hip hop. This class has given me the ability to learn diverse styles within hip hop while still maintaining an age-appropriate dance for the recitals.Additionally, I have been able to learn many life skills. It has allowed me to learn how important it is to maintain integrity, morality, and most importantly, discipline. Not only was I able to learn this inside the classroom, but also outside where the director always makes sure to maintain a positive and realistic atmosphere. This studio has continued to excel by making all types of people welcome no matter what. I have never felt judged or treated inappropriately like I was not enough. I was taught that with hard work and humbleness you can achieve anything.As my time as a high school dancer comes to an end, my journey at Academy of Arts will not since this will be a forever home. I cannot wait to come back and take classes when I’m in town as well as bring my own children in the future like many have already done.

I have been a dancer at this studio for many years and it is truly the best. The range of classes is amazing and all the teachers care and provide their students with the best education possible. The director helps each student pick which classes fit them best and she truly cares and loves them all. Overall the best dance studio in South Florida!

I was amazed how they were able to follow all of the Covid-19 guidelines and still offer zoom and social Distancing classes. Their cleanliness impeccable. We just went to a summer performance from Academy of Arts. My girls have been going for years the show was really great. They put on a super professional highly technical show following cdc guidelines. Ms Rebecca is an excellent professional instructor/ studio owner. Vanessa the office manager is great. Kudos for a great local dance studio excelling during this crazy pandemic time and teaching young dancers to excel. Highly recommend.

I have been dancing here for 10 years and I have been growing as a dancer and person everyday. During my years here Ive taken ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, contemporary, flamenco, modern and musical theater.Last year was difficult because of the pandemic but the academy was still hard at work and we had a great show. During lockdown they held zoom classes and now that weve returned in person I still feel incredibly safe. Costumes were reused from last year to avoid buying new ones and even with the circumstances there were no extra expenses. It was amazing being back onstage after being in the lockdown.Im incredibly privileged to be dancing at this academy and very thankful for them. I couldnt ask for more dedicated and loving teachers with some driving more than 3 hours just to teach us. Theyve taught to always work hard and to be a good person. If you are interested in dancing I highly recommend this school. Thank you to all the teachers for your hard work and an amazing year!

Miss Rebecca and her team are amazing, I have issues leaving my kids anywhere bcuz you always hear crazy stories of teachers and kids, but with Academy of Art the teachers treat Arianna as their own . She always feel comfortable and protected, which is a blessing. Miss Alison is one of Arianna teacher and Arianna look to her as big sis, and mentor for her dance skills. This dance studio is great! They go above and beyond to really make the students feel comfortable and give them the best experience. This is a great dance school, really well run. After 6 months at home our daughter was desperate to get out to an activity. Covid safety and protocols are strictly followed and run strictly to required standards. It made me feel at ease for our daughter to go there. She absolutely loves it. The teachers are professional and fun. Highly recommend for all those with kids who have been on quarantine for the past 6 months.

My two girls have been at Academy of Arts for the past three years. Each are 7 and 8 years old. During this past summer they attended Summer Dance Camp there. As a medical professional, I am extremely cautious about the Pandemic and safety precautions. I could not think of a safer place for them to have fun and a great interaction with their friends and dance teachers. Mrs. Rebecca and Vanessa are following all the safety protocols and the kids are great at following them also. They take care of the children as if they were their own. My girls love them and feel safe with them. They will be offering after school care and soon morning virtual learning for parents that need a safe place to leave children and know that they will be help to sign into their programs and complete their school lessons. Academy of arts is a home away from home. It is a great place to train in all types of dance styles. The teachers really pay attention and help their students grow. Alumni are welcome back with open arms to take classes and the environment is very welcoming.

This studio has really done the best job to find a way for the kids to continue their dance classes during a health pandemic in the safest way possible and offering many flexible options to accommodate all schedules, risk levels and needs. We are grateful to participate during a time when kids need something fun to do and find a connection to the community. I think we all want to play, stay active and have fun in a safe way and AOA has found the solution!

Please don’t listen to any of the bad reviews about this school. This school is truly amazing! I strongly suggest that if you want to put your child in some type of dance go and check it out and you will see for yourself.The dance recital was PHENOMENAL!!!! And to clear out some of the bad dance recital reviews ... Before the show even started they said “pictures and video is strictly prohibited”. However people still took out their phones to take pictures and/or videos. They stopped the show not even 15 minutes later to reiterate that pictures and/or videos was prohibited but apparently some people can’t follow directions. Therefore the consequences after being warned twice and even a few more times by the ushers and security was to step out of the recital. But then those are the people who want to write false reviews but they leave out the truth of why that happened to them. Whatever happened to respect? Not only for the other parents who want to enjoy the show without a phone in their face and yet to mention the distraction for the dancers with a flash literally blinding them.Academy of arts has a friendly and professional staff with a wide variety of classes available. My child is eager to do other classes in academy of arts more days than there are in the week 😆😆 and I am as excited as they are! Seeing my child learn and advance is worth every penny!

My daughters have been at Academy of Arts for 10 years. The instructors are very professional and respectful. It is a safe place for the children to develop their dance skills without fear of mocking. The recitals are very expertly done; they truly are beautiful to watch. The price is very economical considering the level of expertise of the instructors. Very clean facilities and ample waiting area for the parents. I highly recommend Academy of Arts to anyone interested in pursuing a dance career.

I’m a dancer at this studio and I can truly say that this studio has benefited me in so many ways. This dance studio shapes you to be a respectful person and devoted dancer. Mrs.Rebeca works you hard so you develop and be the best that you can be. The environment in this studio is amazing. They really work on technique and there is a variety of dance styles at this studio. Many of the dancers at this studio go to well known dance companies once they graduate. One thing all incoming families need to know is that videotaping during the show is not allowed and flash photography distracts us dancers on the stage. It is common etiquette in any theatre that no electronic devices are allowed to take pictures or videos of any show. I love this studio so much and dancing here is something I am very grateful for.

I am a dancer here at Academy Of Arts and I can truly say that it is the best dance school in South Florida. I have been here for 9 years and have become a better person. The teachers especially Mrs. Rebeca teach students to be strong and disciplined dancers. I believe that it is immature for a grown adult to not have proper theater etiquette. I love it here at Academy Of Arts! The teachers are very professional and amazing at what they do. They are great teachers and choreographers and always have the most clever ideas for dances in the year round recitals. The costumes are well made and always fit the theme of the show. Most students who go here leave with a scholarship to dance programs around the world. I have been here for almost 10 years and I plan to stay for the years to come. Academy Of Arts also holds auditions in the academy and invites teachers from different dance programs around the world to audition the students. Some schools that the different teachers come from are Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Miami City Ballet, Joffrey Ballet School, Ballet National Cuba, Boston Ballet, and even more. This academy has a great summer intensive program that gives students the chance to try out intense classes that give students extra practice in classes that they may be having a hard time in. Overall this academy is amazing, professional, and has a great hardworking, dedicated staff.

I have danced at this studio for six years. I really enjoy dancing here. All the teachers are so helpful and I grow everyday. The only thing we have to purchase is the costumes and we were asked to help fundraise for the dress rehearsal (which was optional). I am very glad to be dancing here. This studio has become my second home.

My daughter has been taking Dance and Piano here for 6 years now and I am so happy. The front desk and staff are always helpful and actually care about what level your child is in. This place is not about the money, but about the love for the arts. I truly recommend it to anyone!

I have been going to this AMAZING dance studio for nearly 10 years. We do extraordinary shows at a reasonable price. If it is announced that you can’t videotape, you should follow the rules. I have been to many shows and I know from experience that you should never videotape, take photos, or even take out an electronic device in a theater. It makes me so sad to see parents that would not follow simple instructions in order to benefit the dancers. Writing an entire essay to say the show was horrendous is immature. Also, many people complain that videotaping the show is distracting and blocks their view. Many parents have said that they enjoy watching the show much more when they are not videotaping. I cannot recommend this school enough and I am so sad to see that people are losing basic theater etiquette.

My 5 year old takes Acro Combo, which is Ballet and Jazz. It was her first time taking dance class. They did an initial evaluation to see if she would be able to follow along. They have options for those that might need a slower pace of learning so I think thats great. My daughter loves it hear, no complaints, and the prices of the classes are appropriate. Would recommend!!!

For the person who commented below and gave the studio 1 star, clearly the entire story was not said. She decided to drop out of the annual recital two days before the show, after more than 6 months of preparation for this extremely important event, and of course the director had to take immediate action to modify all of the numbers she was in. The director of this studio is amazing and completely professional, and this studio is an outstanding facility where anyone can learn how to dance and reach the professional level. I have been at this studio since 1999 and would highly recommend it to anyone. The teachers have shown me nothing but kindness and have helped me grow in the dance world and the real world. I have made so many friends here, and it has been such an amazing experience for me to dance at Academy of Arts.From taking numerous dance classes at different dance studios throughout the state of Florida, Academy of Arts is truly unlike any other dance studio. The facility itself is gorgeous and ALWAYS clean. The director of Academy of Arts is very caring of her beautiful studio and clearly puts great effort and work into it, and it definitely shows. And the dance classes are simply incomparable to anywhere else. The technique you receive and the quality of teachers is absolutely wonderful, and they all want to see every dancer succeed. After searching for a dance home that our daughter could grow in, weve found that place in Academy of the Arts right in our backyard. The owner, Ms. Rebecca, and her staff, have brought a wealth of experience, knowledge, and training to her school. This years performance Lights on Broadway showcased the tremendous talent they cultivate from the tiniest of preschoolers all the way through to the young women and men graduating seniors! Academy of Arts is definitely a wonderful studio . All of their teachers are devoted to the students well being and ultimate performance at the end of the year recital. Unfortunately, some may perceive our commitment negatively. We are dedicated to pulling off an excellent show where the dancers showcase their talent. If you are looking for somewhere to put your child to take dance, piano, guitar, voice or drama lessons, this is the place to be .

We are taking our girls out of this studio this week, we had a HORRIBLE experience at this years dance recital. The owner had police officers removing parents and family members from the recital for taking photos of their own children. Including a mom who was FaceTiming her husband so that he could watch his daughter live because he was unable to attend! We were yelled at and rudely removed for taking photos, no flash on, from our seats, phone was not obstructing anyone’s view from any angle and then the Davie police officer told us we had to watch the recital from outside as if we could see though the doors, (as per the instructions he revived from the dance company). When we asked for an explanation he threatened to arrests us for trespassing to the event which we paid for our tickets to be there. I am disgusted with this company, all this just to make more sales of the “professional videos” they take. We pay a lot of money for our children’s weekly classes, for the dance recitals, their outfits, donations, the tickets and we get removed for taking photos? It was unreal and enraging, moms were crying because they didn’t get to see their children perform. When we asked to speak with the owner after being removed his exact words to us were “don’t worry you can BUY the professional video, we have a professional recording” as if we don’t already pay enough money for these recitals to happen! Not to mention that I’ve noticed staff being very rude to children including my own on several occasions. I strongly suggest you look into other dance studios to put your children in.

Academy of arts is the place where you should dance. All the teachers and students are very nice. The teachers teach you everything and strive you to be the best you can be. The studio is well taken care of. I recommend this dance studio 100%. The owner strives you to be the best you can be and espically with great discipline such as being humble. I am a dancer at academy of arts and have been here for 10 whole years now. It makes me so upset to see that a few parents who couldn’t follow simple instructions, for the benefit of us dancers, had taken the time to write a whole essay on why our recital this year was “unacceptable”. I understand that parents would want to videotape their child on their big day, but, at the same time, I have heard moms and dads tell me that they actually get to enjoy the show when they don’t videotape. It is distracting when other parents are trying to go up front to get a good shot or putting their arms up which blocks people’s views around them, which is rude. Now with that being said, plus the rules of not to videotape, being stubborn only causes more problems. I guarantee that if u were one of us dancers, u would truly understand. As for me, I got so many good comments about the show and overall I’m proud to be a dancer there. Thank you.

I am one of the dancers at Academy of Arts and I have been there since the age of 4. It is unbelievable to me that someone would write such a horrible review instead of taking responsibility. We have a professional show and yes a professional videographer and our shows have always have always been known to be the best show anywhere. As a dancer, it is understandable why we do not have flash photography and videotaping in any auditorium anywhere in the country or any movie theatre because we do not want to be blinded on stage by your flash or distractions. It was stated before and during the show that there is not flash photography or videotaping including electronic devices. In spite of this, some parents like yourself took it upon themselves to ignore these rules of any theatre. Perhaps you haven’t been to other theaters. Once the ushers could not control parents like you, they themselves brought the security so they could ask you to put the device down. Once you challenged the officer, I suppose they had no choice but to ask you to leave. I have always been taught by my family to follow rules and maybe you should set the same sample for your children.

A clean, wonderful and challenging place for our daughter to grow. Ms. Rebeca is an excellent role model and teacher who helps our daughter to excel. Weve had her in A of A for six years and are still going strong. Thanks, Ms. Rebeca and staff, you are all true professionals!

Academy of Arts deserves 100 stars! The owner (Rebeca Russo) makes everything very personable and family oriented. The shows are phenomenal! Sometimes you have to take a double take to make sure those are actually kids on that stage. It’s that amazing! The staff is very professional and accommodating to everyone’s specific needs. The studio is kept immaculate and beautiful. Taking your child to Academy of Arts is like placing your child at an arts conservatory. They offer everything from all types of dance, music lessons, visual arts and martial arts. The teachers are extremely well experienced and have quite extraordinary resumes. These students graduate Academy of Arts not just with dance training but skills that have been enstilled in them to carry them through anything life throws their way. I started dancing at Academy of Arts when I was 4 years old and danced all the way through college there. The studio is my home away from home. I received such outstanding training that I was able to travel all around the country and dance at summer intensives because of Academy of Arts. Not only was I able to go to these intensives but ballet instructors would ask me where I was trained. Rebeca Russo has spent the past 25 years building an empire. It truly is an outstanding place to bring your children!In regards to the comment about being asked to leave during the show for taking pics...during ALL professional shows there is absolutely no taking pictures or videos during live performances. It’s understandable that you’re upset about the way it was handled but the intentions from Academy of Arts wasn’t for anyone to miss their child dancing not to asked to leave. The owner herself is a mother as well as a grandmother and wouldn’t want anyone to not be able to watch their child perform. The theatre has policies and they were enforcing them.

Academy Of Arts is a wonderful place. The teachers have years of experience and they can teach in the best ways. They have an amazing environment and the people there can become your second family. If you ever want to find a place to go and dance Academy Of Arts is the place to be.

I am one of the teachers at Academy if the Arts and can honestly say in my whole career I never thought I would be working with such professionals. I grow and learn everyday I am there and am so grateful to work with such amazing dancers. Its the best ballet training in Broward county!

My daughter has been dancing at Academy of Arts for the last eight years. Rebecca, all the instructors and her staff, are the most professional in the industry. There has always been a comfortable family atmosphere. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for high quality teaching in all genres of dance. Anyone who would say otherwise (like below) should really look at themselves for the truth of what really happened and not blame others.

As a mother who has been to several studios I was recommended to this one. By far it offers the best programs with incredible teachers who have all been professionals. I am very pleased and enjoy the family atmosphere it offers.

Academy of Arts is a great school! My daughter had the opporrunity to participate on this years recital, which was amazing! I am sorry to hear that some people are taking their girls out. I like the teachers and staff they are all professionals! They teach the children discipline and passion for the art! I absolutely love this school and so do my children! The school had a reason for not allowing video taping in the recital! People paid for this recital and it wouldnt be nice to pay to watch thru othee peoples phones and video records as well as all the distraction it would cause for the show! So do not take one bad review of an angry parent without knowing the whole story!! I totally recommend Academy of Arts!

Academy of Arts is the best dance studio I have ever been to. I used to go to Dance Works but Im very glad that I made the switch. This is my 7th year at Academy of Arts and I love it here. The teachers and students are very nice and everyone pushes you to be your best. Our recent show, Fantasyland, was amazing. All of our dancers worked very hard throughout the year in order for the show to be such a success. If you are looking for a dance studio in the South Florida area, Academy of Arts is your best option.

Worth your drive. The minute you walk in, you will notice an immaculate, professional school. By far, above the rest and fairly priced in every way. I highly recommend this place!

I dont do reviews but this school is the best!! I love love love this school. The director Ms. Rebecca is so loving and professional. The school offers all forms of dance and music vocal and instrument lessons. I definately recommend this school and so does my little 5 year old!
