The school isn’t the best school there is, let’s be honest. The school has some pretty good teachers but some aren’t good teachers. The food is also the not that good too. The school also needs better classes. I know this is a science school but this school doesn’t have anything like art classes. Even though it’s a science school, art helps students be creative and open up more. The dress code is not good. Some teachers don’t even teach at all. The teachers are messed up, some are cool teachers but some will not be chill about things.

Im not gonna say it was a bad school but neither was it good. I didnt want to finish my sophomore year to my senior year at this school simply because its not for me. If your interested in mechanical engineering and aeronautical then this would be the best school for you. I feel like this school could support a lot of programs but they choose not to and i feel like the peoples opinion doesnt matter. You dont need to dress professional to be a professional but it is what it is. Honestly the school has benefits for anyone but just keep in mind,. Once you go to this school your to the point of no return. Bare that in mind.

Basically average, but with added classes for the aerospace field obviously. Though the administration could use a bit of an overhaul in terms of communication efficiency, and it could be a bit less strict.A good example of it being to strict is not allowing the use of chrome extensions on school email, when most effect the operation of chrome in no way, and are pure aesthetic. The ones that arent are generally just a calculator or better spell check.

Hello, I attend this school and currently I am a 7th grader so Ive been here for 6th grade and Im currently a 7th grader right now. So far this school is awesome and I enjoy being at TPAA! However this school is extremely dirty despite it being a new campus, and it is hardly ever cleaned, but is cleaned from time to time. And sometimes the campus-supervisors can be rude at some parts. One time, my friends and I were hanging out near a ladder for construction, but all of a sudden one of the supervisors was yelping at us being extremely obnoxious and disrespectful. She didnt even say it kindly for us to get out of the area nor give us a warning! I can tell some of the staff can be rude, but I will give the benefit of the doubt that the majority are nice and patient.

Best school in the AV if youre child is interested in engineering or astronomy, and the schools sports teams are great. Recently having their Cross Country team enter their first league and qualifying for CIF. Asides from that their FRC Robotics Team, Team 5012 Gryffingear was one of the four teams that won the World Championship back in 2015, and this team can offer your child a lot experience with engineering, and working with various tools.

Meh....the teachers take away points for breathing.Thats fun.And classes are boring theres no motivation from the teachers. They have a teacher who has never has been a teacher. The dances are not worth it its 5$ to sit down. I went to one and it was boring. They put on edgy teen music and the food cost 5$ for a slice of pizza like I can get a entire pizza at little cezars for 5$.And the teachers dont grade things in time its like this.... Student:Hey Mrs.(insert text here) can you grade my paper that we did a week ago.Teacher:No its late....Student:Why???!!! I turned it in on time.Teacher:The report card is already being sent home!Student: all around me are familiar faces. So thats the end of my review.

I feel a majority of future reviews will be posted either by overly optimistic, ignorant parents, or graduating students who think supplanting their memories and experiences with friends makes a good review for the school. So allow me to immortalize my opinion as-is, as of my graduating year of 2017.I cant speak for the future, TPAA may resolve a lot of my gripes as the years go by, but during my time there, from 2012 to 2017, I was miserable at TPAA. I served as a guinea pig for the school, having been offered a paltry amount of courses to choose from with no diversity in electives to even compensate, and at some point, being forced into an AP class with no alternative because implementing a general Calculus class was apparently an oversight. I wasnt a depressed kid either, I got along fine with my peers, I was just disappointed with the lack of facility with the teachers and focus of the curriculum. So I ask that you dont assume Im being biased as a result of being a recent graduate (I am biased against the school with reason; mind, not prejudiced) or someone with too much salt on their shoulder. What I find to be a reoccurring issue, and many teachers have echoed this in response to my past criticisms (without doing much to mend the seemingly incessant problem despite being acutely aware of it), is that the faculty can be rather impersonal. For a charter school that boasts a supposed impressive teacher-student relationship, often times the teachers were very detached from their students and their issues. I suppose its too much to expect empathy in a school or in a working environment, but the argument that TPAA was preparing us for college and that being the reason why some teachers would put up a front or unsympathetically assign work, soon came to seem to be an excuse for a lot of teachers ambivalence or authority. I recount being told that study is a personal endeavor numerous times, and while I agree, I dont see how that would excuse the rather cursory lessons and instruction being offered. Now, high school is remote from college, contrary to what many teachers will say. While I can understand their intention, considering the prominent attitude and developmental period of many of the students, I dont believe said preparation should replace proper instruction--a teacher providing a focused, thought-out curriculum. Its understandable to start implanting good study habits during said growing period, smart even, but the rather lethargic attitude of some of the instructors led me to believe that they were using preparation as a pretense for their laziness--and I only grew more and more suspicious the more the word college seemed to reverberate (something I even heard echoed at my rather low-end middle school, oddly enough). Yes, college is on the horizon for many blossoming adolescents, and its important, but TPAA seemed to lack the foundation necessary to support the more superfluous aspects of its schooling. Passion is supposed to be immediately distinguishable in someones expression, but much of the facultys seemed quite vapid, and my time there can reflect that. Transparency and understanding is integral to establishing a good relationship with your students, its not entirely far-fetched outside of school. But now Ive graduated. I walked into TPAA starry-eyed and came out uninspired and listless. My times over and I can celebrate that I sat through that colorless campus and faculty and move on with my life. But if your child is starting their first year of high school or even middle school, please consider the past circumstance of its initial students. I wouldnt be colored impressed if TPAA hadnt changed much--the faculty, the adults, are already established in their personalities and methods.

Wow. I have to say, back in 8th grade when I first picked up a brochure regarding a new engineering school opening later in 2012, I was very much excited to see if it would live up to some of my expectations since I was fascinated to become an engineer. From then till now, those expectations werent just fulfilled, they were enhanced. Theres so much to take away from a brilliant institution like this in the infamous Aerospace Valley. Even from someone such as myself. who had dove head in to the world of aviation, I can only say that this school had not only emboldened my interests, but also honed them as well. Although it really was an unforgettable experience, as any recently founded institutions, things are a bit sluggish in the first few years. From experience, there have been some problems as the school progressed itself within the last four years, such as schedule timing, specific inquiries of the uniform code, questionable lecturers, and tight campus spacing. Even some students complained that they were, forced here by their parents and were not interested in what this school has to offer. So please, if you are a parent reading this, talk to your child first and see if this is really an institution that can benefit BOTH you and him/her before applying. But with all that being said, I hadnt had as many problems with those issues as others have, but I am pointing them out just from a majority perspective of the student population, and you know that? Thats just normal behavior for a new school. I know that this isnt how things are going to be, and that I also know that coming from such a highly respected, and looked upon institution such as TPAA, I can tell that these problems will be resolved sometime in the future, hopefully soon for the underclassmen, and seeing that we are building a new campus that is opening next year, I dont see the minor problems that preceded from the current establishment being the same issues at the new facility. But even then, again, I had no problem with such issues, just speaking from the people. Overall, the students and faculty of this school are really friendly and helpful to their own extent. Nothing is ever perfect from a overall standpoint, even the students here, but they do whatever they can to help their fellow peers and as teachers can do whatever is possible to help the students, and vice versa. The clubs, student organizations, and robotics team also have a great impact amongst the social life of this establishment. Ive been president of the AERO Club for the entire time I attended, and I can certainly say that I had a great time leading the underclassmen to spread the word of aviation as well as to teach them a thing or two about it. Now if you are into robotics, well youre in luck. TPAA has an astounding group of robotics teams that excel to the highest reaches of the sky. If coming home with the title of world champions from the FIRST Robotics competition isnt enough to convince, I dont know what else to say. Being that I was a former engineering co-captain for one of the teams, I can say that it is also another worthwhile activity to do while attending. In conclusion TPAA has the right resources, faculty, and students to help your child build themselves into the future workforce of tomorrow in the STEM-related field, if they choose to do so. As an alumni of the first graduating class from The Palmdale Aerospace Academy, I can say that this school really does have, the right stuff. (:
