James is not only an extremely talented martial artist, but an amazing personal trainer! He helped me bring my body back to optimal shape in a very short amount of time. I have done martial arts for several years and have tried many styles and schools. In my experience, North Winds Martial Arts is the only school I have ever found to be traditional and practical. They teach their students traditional martial arts with a real world practical approach to self defense! All the staff is very kind, professional and knowledgeable! I would recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn martial arts or who wants their child to learn discipline in a fun learning environment!

Hi i used to go here my name is Noah Im now not going anymore, I do miss the building, the instructors, and the learners, i was going to be a brown belt soon, was at purple but got forced into doing other sports by my parents and forgot some of my Katas so i was held back from testing which i appreciate because sensae James was so kind to me and let me help a lot, but when i forgot stuff he waited till i re learned it before letting me do teaching. Thanks Sensae James!, and Mrs. Janis, and Mr. Brent, i miss you guys and bye!

My children love North Wind! They are a very professional staff committed to the individual success of each student, no matter what their experience level may be. My own children have grown in confidence and self control by practicing the principles learned and practiced in the dojo. This is not a McDojo! Each student progresses in belt colors as it is fitting for that child, and in the time that is needed, without rushing it.

North Wind Martial Arts is a great place for the karateka looking for something traditional in a city full of McDojos. Located just 10 minutes away from UCF, it is perfect for students looking for high standards and excellence that is hard to find in a sports club. The head instructors are very high ranking (6th and 7th dan) and well versed not only in shito ryu karate but also kobudo, taijitsu and iaido. Kyoshi Taylor is not only a great martial artist but also a great instructor and a great person. All ages are welcome and no previous experience is necessary. If youre looking for genuine martial arts training, self-improvement and fitness training, look no further.
