I took the security class at goldeneye training academy and it was great, john was very passionate about what he teaches and gives great feed back to any questions you might have for the class or personal questions about the field of security or police work. I will be taking all my certifications at goldeneye for sure. *side note* the owners are awesome couldnt have ask for a better first experience

I had a class on 5/2/21 with the instructor named Ryan he was extremely informative. Went over every aspect of fire arm safety. This family own and operated business is not just about the money. They want you to fill confident in your self when you out in the world dealing with a firearm. My wife is pregnant and was supposed to be with me in the class. The owner spoke with me and told me if she was my daughter I wouldn’t let her In The range or class due to the lead that will be in the air. She wanted to make sure my wife and child was safe before she made a dollar. Thank you so much for this amazing experience. I will definitely be back for more classes.

I went here for security officer training. The trainer Chris was very thorough and felt that his students being properly trained was important. He and the rest of the staff were very friendly and personable. I left there feeling prepared to begin a career in security. They also offer classes that can further that career.

When I tell you this was by far the best class Ive had since dr.webers class in 2007!!! The trainers are extremely experienced and knowledgeable! They are absolutely amazing, hilarious. Its not one of the boring classes you take where the instructor sounds like the clear eyes guy. The energy is awesome! I recently attended their CT Basic Firearm Safety Pistol Permit Class.The entire staff was personable and at the same time very professional.The agenda is in two parts.The first part consists of classroom training to include, CT State firearm laws and penalties laws, gun safety, how to hold a pistol, proper firing positions, pistol types/design, ammunition types, and many other topics.The second part of the class takes you to a firing range for instruction. The pistol firing instructors are “top notch” and made me feel extremely comfortable.All in all, the training class agenda was very detailed and provided more than the required information that one would expect.One I receive my permit, I’m look forward to returning to Goldeneye for Long Gun training.Janine, Joe and Megan(I think I got that name right ) are passionate about what they do and it shows. They actually care about their clients.If you want a professional team that is knowledgeable and at the same time treats you like family go here. That’s it!Thanks Guys!

Great establishment got very detailed training even offered other Trainings and certifications at a discounted price.

My husband and I did the basic permit training together. We both enjoyed the class - very informative and the instructor was great! But the thing that really impressed me was how serious they took their jobs, how important it was that you understood the process, the attention to safety, and their customer service. I had misplaced the certificate needed for the city permit appointment the next day, a Monday morning at 8am. The wait for these appointments is about 2-3 months so I was in a bit of a panic. I know in the past when I had called with questions my call was always returned, even if it was in the evening after hours. So I gave it a shot and called and left a message explaining that I needed to get a copy of my certificate. On a Sunday night I received a call back within 30 minutes and they offered to go in early to print out a copy that I could pick the next morning before our appointment. I wish all companies were as helpful and caring towards their clients. We look forward to returning for our next level of training!

Just completed my CT Pistol course and I have to say that Brian the instructor was very informative. He kept the class at a nice and up beat pace. They provide you with a lot of information and send you home with back up material in case you have questions. They also said if you have any questions, you can call them anytime. At the Range I worked with Joe the Owner. He was awesome. The whole staff was wonderful. Highly recommend this Place and will be definitely going back for more training.

I took the initial safety course, which prepared me for the next step..selecting the proper pistol for me. I have test fired twice (second one today) and then will select one. Anthony has been great..with alot of patience! Thanks to everyone for safety and gun selection.

I participated in a concealed carry course officiated by Goldeneye Training Academy. I found that the instructions as well as the course content was on point. The material was clear and informative. Having participated in CCP courses a number of years ago, I have to say there knowledgeable presentation was refreshing . Took my pistol permit class with them, and all instructors were great. I highly recommend them, as it felt like family. I mean that in a good way :). They are very knowledgeable and helpful. Even after your class they are happy to help or assist you with questions. I will for sure be taking other courses with them.

I had been looking for class for my carry permit for a while and golden eye training academy came highly recommended b ugh a friend of mine. After taking the class I can see why. They were very professional, all had a sense of humor, made the class fun but very informative and kept the class engaged the entire time. They provide you with everything you need during the class as well as for the application process for your town. They will help.you fill out the application, notarize it for you right on the spot and give you the best advice on how to navigate the process for your particular town. They even told me to call them if I had any problems throughout the process and they would be happy to assist me. I know that golden eye training academy also offers additional classes and private lessons on how to carry safely and some tactical training classes and I know I will be returning for those once I get my permit. You will definitely enjoy golden eye training academy, I really did.

8 Years LEO and 20 Years DOC 16 as a Lieutenant I retired in 2014. I worked low level security positions and found I was out of place with my experience. I was offered a Armed Security Position but needed a Guard Card, Pistol Permit and Blue Card endorsement. I took all three classes with Golden Eye and Joe Porto. With my experience as a Correctional Supervisor and prior LEO experience I have to say Golden Eye Academy and their instructors are top of the line and ready to prepare you for your second career. They are professional, courteous and patient. I have extensive training in fire arms and security but the attention they gave me was no different than that of those just starting out in the field. I highly recommend Golden Eye Academy whether you are just starting a retired LEO Career or Armed Security. You will be well prepared for your future.Two days after receiving my Blue Card Certification a potential active shooter occurred at my new job in Bridgeport. 11/18/2019. No staff were injured and the Bridgeport Police were able to apprehend the suspect with the fire arm with again no injuries!

Great class. Great instructors. They set you up to succeed here. Parking is kinda difficult to figure out so give yourself a little extra time but otherwise a great school for firearm training from people who are not only knowledgeable and experienced, but clearly passionate about what they do.

I took my pistol permit course this past Sunday at the Goldeneye Training Academy and I couldnt have asked for a smoother, more informative and cost effect experience then I received here. Jeanine and Joe were especially knowledgeable making the entire process extremely educational. Both knew everything I needed to complete the process and were able to help me with my town application too. Joes experience was especially helpful when it came to firing at the range. At no point did I feel uncomfortable handling a fire arm. Hes a very good instructor.In addition when I submitted my application to the town I live in today there was a bit of a hold up with the paper work at no fault of Goldeneyes. Jeannine was readily available by phone to assist and resolve the issue. As a business owner myself I was blown away with this type of service.Their main goal is clear. They want people to be safe. They offer a variety of other safety training programs my wife and I will be attending to soon.Thank You again Joe and Jeannine!

Great place and excellent trainers...Its educational courses and hands on learning. For me...the real life scenarios was a great opportunity to improve and learn more skills regarding situational awareness. Also, the facility offers a wide variety of training or classes which is a big plus in my book.

Excellent class, knowledgeable staff, would highly recommend especially for people like me who have no experience with handling firearms. Everyone was patient, all my questions were answered, and I didnt feel rushed in the hands on part of the training. I definitely plan on pursuing further training with this group.

Great customer service and support from Joe and the team. I just completed the range portion of my pistol permit course and despite these COVID-19 times impacting the way the full course had to be delivered (theory section online in March, range section in June), the Goldeneye team were proactive with contact, apologetic and couldnt do enough to keep me informed. Joe and his team are all very customer focused and extremely knowledgable, having the patience and experience to answer any question I had. I cannot recommend Goldeneye enough, everyone I came into contact with genuinely wanted to educate and help the students gain their pistol permit.

The folks at Goldeneye know their stuff. My training was scheduled right at the start of the COVID pandemic so obviously there was a lot of changes and rescheduling that had to take place. Our instructor Joe Porto conducted the training virtually via Zoom and went perfectly. Because of COVID lockdown we had to wait several months to test for our live fire session but Goldeneye kept us informed and guided us every step of the way. I will use Goldeneye for any future trainings I take. They are professionals and that’s obviously what you need when working with firearms instruction.

My wife bought a gun permit course from Groupon for my birthday. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the instructor, Joe, was awesome. He was a great teacher and explained everything thoroughly and with just enough humor to keep everyone interested and engaged, but not enough to make the class feel corny. It’s clear that he’s extremely knowledgeable and I will definitely be going back for another course at some point.
