I didnt like the way the studio handled last years recital. One month prior to the recital, I had emailed the studio owner to let her know that my kiddo was questioning her gender identity. I did this in hope that they had enough time to prepare a separate dress area for her. Instead they put her in the MENS bathroom. I was freaking livid! She didnt even get to hang out with her friends. She felt so excluded. I felt like I gave them plenty of time to work something out. After this experience we decided to take a year off. We had been going to Stars for 9 years. I expected more from them. Now we are looking for another studio.

I feel so lucky to have found Stars Dance Academy 7 years ago! During that time I have not only seen my girls grow as dancers but also in their enjoyment of dance and the friendships they have made. It is not a competitive environment but does push them at their own pace so everyone is included. The teachers are super friendly and the choreography and costumes are age-appropriate.

I have been thrilled with STARS Dance Academy. For three years my daughter has loved going to learn about ballet and tap. The instructors are caring and make each child feel important. The costuming and song choices have always been age appropriate. The cost for classes, costumes, & recital is best in Omaha.

As my daughters are getting older they still love dancing for STARS dance academy! They couldn’t be happier with the instructors and how they push each individual girl to do their best. As a parent we can’t ask for a more wholesome studio and family environment for our daughters to dance and learn life lessons. Thank you STARS!!!

I opted to bring my two toddlers here for the movers and groovers summer class as the price was good. Theyve been attending for the past few weeks, and they already want to call it quits. Twice now Ive seen other kids come out of their class crying, and my wife witnessed the ensuing conversation between the instructor and the parent of the crying child, where it was revealed that the instructor had yelled at the girl.My own kids have complained that their instructor is mean, wont let them dance next to each other, and yells at them. I get it, kids are stressful, but if you cant handle 12 kids for half an hour without yelling at them you shouldnt be trying to teach toddlers anything.Im glad I paid a non-refundable fee for my kids to be unhappy and have a bad time.

Just to echo on the previous review...the studio has changed since my daughter was there as a little girl. It is stagnant and the dances each recital are the same as the year before. More experienced teachers have been let go and there is no new blood to allow for fresh dances. Very young girls are placed with older girls again making this studio more for younger ages thus lacking challenge or interest for older girls. Multiple parents have complained yet nothing changes. Furthermore, the studio allows bullying of dancers by parents. Not at all a healthy or productive environment.

I am a former student at Stars Dance Academy and I feel like it is better for younger students other than older students. Older students are given coreoagraphy that is outdated and too easy for the age category in which they are in. Being there for a while has caused me to be very stagnant and leave.

Stars Dance Academy is the best kept dance secret in Omaha. The small class size and opportunities for students to participate in mulitiple classes is unparalleled. My daughters have had opportunities at Stars other studios do not offer without a huge price tag. Miss Corrie and her staff are amazing! They love dance and their students and it shows!

We just wrapped up our 4th season at STARS. I have two dancers there, my older one has always been in the classes for more serious dancers. She has continued to grow in her flexibility, showmanship, strength, skills and techniques, and her confidence. My younger daughter has an absolute blast, but probably wont be a high skill dancer. The best part is, there is a place for both of them at STARS. While they arent specifically aimed at being a competition studio, my child has danced competitively with this studio for three seasons. They have fared quite well every season, while remaining true to their style (i.e. age appropriate choreography, costumes, song choices). There is a place for everyone at Stars. I have seen all skill levels, shapes, sizes, ethnicity, etc etc. All are treated with the same amount of respect, care, patience, and love. The studio has grown considerably over the last few years, but still maintains a family atmosphere. This summer I am excited to be participating in an adult Hip hop class! Judgement free zone and so much fun so far!Lastly, the staff at Stars are wonderful. I am pretty picky on the adults/role models my children are exposed to. The women who work at Stars are classy, confident, capable women. I truly believe they genuinely care about all of their students.
