If youre looking for a preschool or a K-8 school, I enthusiastically recommend Escuela Bilingue Internacional, a Spanish immersion school which both our kids attend. Weve found the teachers to be outstanding. Our kids are so excited about learning and often request that we get books from the library on the topics that they are learning about. The school takes field trips to intriguing places, ranging from San Francisco Chinatown to the Crucible. The international focus of the school is reflected in the teachers, who hail from all over the U.S., South America and Spain. We have also felt embraced by the diverse, international, and warm community of parents.

This is an amazing school. Both of my children have thrived and feel that they are part of a loving, caring, and supportive and diverse educational environment. My kindergarten daughter is now completely fluent and can enjoy media, books, and music in both Spanish and English. My pre-K son absolutely adores his teachers and feels that he is loved and supported. My children are mixed Latinx/Black and are part of an intellectually exciting, supportive, and globally-focused school that imparts a message of social justice and community.

I would recommend this school for any parent that is looking to prepare their kids for an increasingly global future.EBI is an amazing school that inspires its students curiosity and turns them into self-directed, lifelong learners. The education that my kids are getting is top notch. Not only are they learning all the subjects that they need to be successful, but they are learning them in multiple languages (Spanish, English, Mandarin). The kids are fully at grade level in Spanish.

We have been at EBI for 6 years now and absolutely love it. We have a 3rd grader and a preK child at the school and their experiences are both amazing. The teachers are so loving and committed to providing the students with a strong educational experience. The Spanish-English bilingual program is exceptional. And the International Baccalaureate program makes them not only lifelong learners but also develops a strong set of values they will have the rest of their lives. We love the community of families too. It really is a special place!

My daughters have been at EBI for five years and are thriving in the nurturing yet academically challenging environment. The International Baccalaureate (IB) program is teaching my girls about global awareness and citizenship, environmental care, and to be kind to others. Native Spanish speakers have complimented the perfect accent they have mastered, a result of having teachers from numerous countries, primarily Central America. The facilities are well designed to provide for a great learning environment. We selected EBI for numerous reasons for our girls, including the gift of learning Spanish and Mandarin language, and we couldnt be happier with our choice.

My kids have been at EBI for 8 years and both of them love languages. The hope was that they would feel connected to a much bigger world of people with fluency in Spanish and English and a good start in Mandarin, but we’ve gotten much more. The curriculum developed through the International Baccalaureate has meant they have an appreciation of context as well as the skills they are learning. They know that what they are learning comes from a narrative that includes some people’s stories/experiences and excludes others’. They are curious about lots of things and EBI has helped them learn how to find out about their interests. The emphasis on social justice has supported them in thinking about how stories and knowledge are shaped. EBI has given them a great foundation for learning. Thank you EBI!

My EBI moment came when watching my son talk to a tour guide/archaeologist outside Guanajuato in Mexico in a mix of Spanish and English, discussing art, astronomy and ancient military history on the site of an ancient city of pyramids.Yes, the kids at EBI become bilingual in Spanish, but its the inquiry-based IB program that I believe helps shape these students in unexpectedly amazing (to me) ways.We think EBI will help prepare our kids to excel in a rapidly changing and uncertain world in which language, communication and critical thinking skills are paramount.2 kids, 6 years in at EBI.

This is our fifth year at EBI and we love it. Our kiddo is thriving there. As many parents at EBI say, we came for the Spanish immersion and stayed because of the amazing teachers, the IB (International Baccalaureate) curriculum and the wonderful community. I didn’t know a lot about IB when our daughter first started at EBI, but the more I learn about it, the more impressed I am. Kids at EBI are truly learning how to think critically, make connections and take action. Plus they’re learning all this in both English and Spanish, and then Mandarin starting in 3rd grade!
