Great staff, amazing selection of instruments. Kid friendly with a touch of hard core metal. This place has been around for years. I went there as a kid, now shopping for my own son. These guys are amazing. Quick service and attentive, honest staff. I had broken a string on my cello and took it into fix. They called later to say when they put the string on and tried to tune it, it had broke and it was their last one. The guy was super cool and told me that I could get the cello and bring it elsewhere if I was in a hurry, no charge. I said it was okay and two days later the string came, they tuned it perfectly, and gave my cello back. Overall, never had a bad experience with them.

Bought this Epiphone Les Paul on line with Brian Ws help. The developed a crack in the neck and I have asked THREE times for a printed receipt because Epiphone will not honor their warranty without one - weeks later no joy, which means I purchased a $580 piece of firewood. Needless to say I will NOT shop here or purchase any Gibson/Epiphone product again.

Excellent customer service. Brian helped me with my Gibson SG which has had major problems with tuning and intonation. He listened to the problem and did a great job correcting it. I have had 3 of my guitars set up here because the service, results, and price are excellent. Highly recommend the shop.

Dropped off my bass guitar to have a nut fitted as well as a set of strings. I provided BOTH the bone nut and set of strings. After 9 days and being told on 3 different occasions my instrument would be ready, it is still not finished. I was also told that it would be $100 to install these parts on my $300 Hofner ignition bass. I feel disrespected and used by a business which I was recommended by a friend.

Mike is fantastic! Iv been dealing with him for a year working and finding me the right Gibson Les Paul Custom. No matter how often I changed my mind on specs, he was always more than accommodating and worked hard to get me exactly what I wanted. New York Music Emporium has an excellent relationship with Gibson. Thank you Mike!

My dad and I love music emporium. My dad has been going for over 30 years and we refuse to shop at any other music store! We went in close to closing time and Bryan and the staff stayed longer to help us with a guitar setup. Bryan was extremely knowledgeable and so welcoming. I went to SAM ASH for strings for a 12- string electric. They didnt have them. I then went to GUITAR CENTER...and they didnt have them either! I called ahead to the NY MUSIC EMPORIUM, and they had them (and they also carry COOL picks, which are hard to find). I went there and got the strings I was looking for, and was pleased to see a well stocked, clean store with a cozy atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff (unlike some other places). Ill be coming here from now on.

This place is superb! Ive been coming here since I was 15 years old in 1997! Charlie is a great guy and he has sold me 8 guitars over the years, 3 amps and numerous other equipment. I highly recommend them over the big dogs just because of their level of service.

Best music store on Long Island

Ive bought a lot of equipment from these guys and tested out even more and every step along the way they have been super helpful and extremely cooperative. They are willing to help you in any way they can and if you ever have any problems with your gear they will make it sound perfect. Absolutely love this place, would recommend to anyone.

If you have never been, you MUST treat your self to this store. Some of the most helpful and knowledgeable folks you will ever meet. Ive personally bought guitars and amps at this store and I have also had some serious repairs done on a few vintage guitars. Its just a plain great music store. Perfect setup on my billy rowe heartbreaker. I took it to these guys on a whim and dont regret it. Whoever does the setups at the emporium got the slight bow to the neck just right which in this town at other music stores is sadly too much to ask... this place does it right. Taking all of my guitars there now. Also they have an interesting pedal selection that I could see expanding and staff is friendly.

Going back many years, I remember when this location was called Focus II, presently, I find myself in agreement with many of the reviews below, Staff has tremendous amount of product knowledge, being very disappointed with other establishments such as guitar center, I will certainly continue to stop in for accessories, & the usual great conversation with the staff, It is a great place to visit, you will be greeted with a smile from folks who are truly interested in you musical needs !!

Awesome service and a collection of almost all your favorite instruments including violins, guitars, bass guitar, and etc. The staff is super friendly and will almost instantly answer your questions! Excellent store, but everytime I go there for something they are closed??? Wanted to get an early start, had to be out of town by 1100, and they open at 11am. Cant get a break.

Unfortunately, my ordered guitar, a Music Man Steve Morse Y2d, was shipped without the necessary export license (Cites). It was seized and bunkered by the Swiss authorities. What a shame about the beautiful instrument. And the seller NewYorkMusicEmporium contacted me very badly, although I have sent my concerns several times via email, Facebook, etc. Its a shame, but I wont be ordering anything more here.
