An art school which acted as a bridge towards my dream! way of teaching is brilliant and organized, which makes it easier to work on your works without stress. 10/10 would recommend any art student or anyone who needs any guidance related to art to attend their classes!!

A really good experience with Ashcan studio. My son developed his drawing skills as well as his portfolio. Good portfolio preparation for LaGuardia High school.will still work with Ashcan.

From the minute we asked about information about portfolio preparation for Art Specialized High Schools we were given a genuine concern to our requests. Sora is very welcoming and patient. Ashcan welcomed our son and Mr Kim (the Art Director) tailored specific classes in preparation for his art portfolio. Our son was always inspired and motivated when he attended classes at 34th street, the art instructors are all very professional and attentive to the students.Ashcan art gave the direction and tools needed. I studied in Ashcan for 8 months. Thanks to this school, I was able to improve my skills and knowledge a lot and make an amazing portfolio. The teachers are so professional and enthusiastic by giving their full attention to each students!! And the staffs are so nice and friendly. I’ve gotten into a school with a large amount of scholarship! Especially, director Kim, he contacted the school and helped me to get useful resources about application every time. Im really grateful to Kim and teachers !!! I’ve studied in many other art schools, Ashcan is the best one ever. I strongly recommend this school!

I studied in the Flushing and Manhattan campuses of Ashcan Studio of Art as transfer student. I was accepted to my school of choice with a generous scholarship. I didn’t really have good skills of drawing and painting when I first went to Ashcan. Ashcan is full of instructors who are knowledgeable, responsible and accommodating. They often check on every student in the class and always try their best to teach more and help more with the specific project. The entire atmosphere in Ashcan was comfortable, friendly and inspiring. I felt that I made more progress after each project. What I like most about Ashcan is that they dont strictly operate as a business chasing profits, but that they are really art lovers. It was really worthy to study and prepare my portfolio in Ashcan.

Instructors are very helpful and friendly. They are great artists, passionate about Art and teaching.you get your own table and storage space. With the help I received from Ashcan, I got into many schools with scholarships.

Ashcan helped me get into all of my top schools with generous scholarships! I learned so much here taking specialized classes from many teachers, the learning was fun and relaxing yet very structured and detailed. I left each class session feeling I learned so, so much. I am so grateful to the Ashcan school for what it has done for me and my future, I wouldnt go anywhere else for art college and portfolio prep.

I highly recommend attending Ashcan for portfolio preparation classes because its the perfect environment to check what level youre at and you learn different things from teachers from various fields. My thought process and ideas have matured as well as my technical skills. I truly discovered my potential and artistic style here; it felt bittersweet to leave after 7 months.

Attending this studio was one of the best decisions I’ve made. All of the teachers give very insightful advise on your artwork. If you’re preparing a portfolio for college, they can tell you exactly what colleges look for and help you incorporate that into your artwork. Tuition may be a little pricy but it’s 100% worth it in the end.

I have known the director, Sunyoung Kim for many years, he has been very supportive and professional. While I was the student in Ashcan Studio of Art, I learned a lot from knowledgeable and professional teachers and I was able to focus on making my portfolio in a kind and friendly environment. Even after I finished my master program, Ashcan studio of Art has been a great educational institution to build up my art career in New York.

I really like the teachers here, they are really nice! I love the detail and type of concepts they go through to help with your profolio and such, and I would recommend this class to anyone who loves art in general!

I went to college and wanted to transfer into SVA design, but I was able to learn a lot about art besides my portfolio. Teachers gave lots of advice during the work from idea of ​​idea that student want to do, so I was able to do works that I want to do and it was very fun. The studio environment is great too and I want to go back!
