I love this studio. I go there and the teachers are really nice there are strict and serious but that’s because they want you to get better. I have learned so much and have been so inspired by all there hard work. Love OBDS. They are so nice and you learn a lot.

Great place for kids dance classes in uptown nola. Hassle-free classes that teach the basics and beyond. You can get anything from pointe classes to hip hop. The instructors are caring and professional. The owners run the place like a fine machine and are happy to help with anything customers need.

This was several years ago but my daughter went here when she was 5. She was supposed to take pictures prior to their recital. There was a torrential downpour that day and my street was completely flooded. I called and asked if we could come later or reschedule. The owners daughter told me that if I didn’t care enough about my child to get her there then she would have to look into a make up class! I have never been so insulted. I allowed my daughter to finish up the year and do her little recital but I will never give them a dime or another second of our time.

An amazing place full of great instruction. They are professional and true lovers of dance. They teach fundamentals of dance. They genuinely care about each dancer and seeing them to their full potential. Great quality recitals and costumes that are age appropriate. Dance is serious when you walk through those doors. They provide great opportunities to their dancers. A home away from home for my dancer.

At Off Broadway (also called OBDS) they take dance class seriously and are some of the most caring and professional teachers. My daughter Lilly attending dance here, but we moved so she had to stop. I have still not found a studio like OBDS. The teachers care about the youngest dancer to the oldest. They have a competition team, but it’s not a studio that just cares about “who’s the best.” They work with each child, and they personally communicate with all the parents. I even learned from a friend in town that they help classes completely for FREE in the month of June because of the pandemic. They really go above and beyond for their students. I certainly give this place 5 stars and would give 1000 if that were an option.

I had high hopes, but the classes are large and the studio did not live up to expectations. Additionally, I have been disappointed with how they have handed the situation regarding the pandemic. They understandably pushed back the recital date, but then mandated that students participate in extra zoom classes in order to participate in the recital. My 5-year old has been over zoom for a while so they essentially discriminated against any young student who has no interest or the attention span for zoom classes, yet refused to refund recital fees for students they existed to allow to participate in the recital. We will be returning to a studio that has smaller classes and is more fun rather than strict - especially with young children.
