I cannot say enough good things about RMF! My son joined the little dragons class and loved it instantly. The instructors were so supportive and were having fun while teaching. I joined shortly after into the adult class and was quickly accepted with he staff and fellow class mates. Everyone is so friendly and supportive. Sensei Paul teaches with passion and you can see it in all of our classes. We learn so much and get a great workout in. Being on the mat at RMF has changed my life for the better and Im so thankful for doing it! Highly recommend you join us!

This is a fantastic space with a very positive vibe. Classes for all ages and experience levels are taught by a great instructor. In 2020, theyve lowered class sizes, taken social distancing and masks seriously, and offered outdoor classes as an option. It was great before, but its particularly wonderful now to have a safe, fun outlet for exercise (and to take out some quarantine frustration on a bag).

My only regret is not joining this program sooner, and of course the other would be that a career change took me from Boston to Washington D.C. and was only able to participate in Sensei Paul Castagnos program for about a year. Revolution Martial Arts is a sensible blend of the key martial arts techniques across grappling, Jiu Jitsu and striking, with equal doses of fun and team building. From a fitness perspective, no gym membership or other sport has gotten me into the shape that Sensei Pauls program got me into. But the biggest benefit, and the one thats emphasized on your first day in class is literally how calm and in-control youll feel after class and throughout your daily routine and career.Martial arts or a controlled contact sport should be a requirement for kids, adults and young adults as the benefits are innumerable. If you can maintain a 2 day week regiment of attending the program youll see yourself transform into someone that manages stress with greater ease and has the energy to get through all that comes your way. I had zero experience with martial arts previously, and took a gamble on this program. It is money well spent and time well spent for your fitness, health and self-defense. Thank you Sensei Paul! Hope to visit when Im back in Boston!

Revolution Martial Fitness is the best martial arts experience we have encountered, and we have tried more than a handful of schools.Sensei Paul has created an environment of growth, respect, good technique, confidence, excellence, perseverance, leadership, kindness and fun. He takes a great amount of pride and joy in his lifes work. He is always challenging himself to become better, and instills that in the kids. His strong leadership is kind, and you can feel that through each student teacher that he mentors. The program is well planned. The facility is immaculate and beautiful with plenty of parking. The training is quality. There is an excellent student to teacher ratio. The community is welcoming. My favorite thing is the mat chat. At the end of each class Sensei Paul or Sensei Ben will teach an age appropriate life lesson...bullying, perseverance, etc...It takes a village to raise a child and I am very fortunate to have found this village. It undeniably has positively influenced my childs character, skills and confidence.

We were very nervous about bringing the kids back to all in-person classes. However, the staff has been so careful to adhere to all guidelines to ensure a safe environment for everyone. Communication by RMF has been transparent and honest which we highly value. It has allowed us to make informed decisions about moving forward with in-person classes.Upon arrival, everyone uses hand sanitizer and receives a bin for their belongings. Each student has their own dedicated space on the mat and parents have their own bench. Our worries were put to rest knowing that there is plenty of space to socially distance and that they thoroughly sanitize equipment between classes. Also, all of the kids that have attended in-person classes have kept their masks on for the entire class. This is a huge deal considering the kids ages and that they’re putting in a great effort in class! We have now been to in-person classes for few weeks and have had only positive experiences! We are all thrilled to get out of the house and are so thankful that Sensei Paul and his staff have worked so hard to make in-person classes safe and still fun for the kids! We can’t thank you enough!Quotes from our kids about RMF...Kid 1 (age 7): “Even if it was only open for one day ever, I would still love it!”Kid 2 (age 5): “Martial arts is my favorite; I wish I could live there everyday!”

Our son first joined when he started kindergarten before he turned 6. He’s still enjoying learning until this day (3yrs later). The owner Sensei Paul not only teaches his students martial arts techniques, but also life lessons and principles. He’d spend about 5 mins after each class to explain various topics such as how to be kind to others, how to be responsible, how to be honest, etc. Karate and jujitsu are main lessons among others. So all techniques are complementing each other very well. My son has learned a lot from Sensei Paul and the Dojo. We’re highly recommending RMF if you’re looking for martial arts fitness class for your little ones or yourself. There’s also adults classes. The fee is reasonable for unlimited classes.

Hello everyone! We are members at RMF since 2016. It took us a long time to find something that our son wanted to stick with, and we tried plenty of other activities and dojos before RMF. At first, it was the physical challenge that motivated our son. Then after a few weeks, and up to now- it’s Sensei Paul’s mat chats.I can’t begin to tell you how much Sensei’s words have transformed my son’s confidence. We take their online classes for now, but we can’t think of ever giving it up. It’s one of the constants against this uncertain world in our son’s life, and one that’s certainly needed for children these days.

My son has been a student at RMF since the age of 4. He is 9 years old now and being a part of this school has been a great experience. Sensei Paul has created a wonderful program. The martial arts instruction is top quality. The teaching staff works closely with students to help them meet skills and expectations that are clearly defined in the curriculum. Classes are taught in a structured, and always positive manner. The “mat chats” at the end of every class are equally amazing. The focus of these chats is to learn life skills such as discipline, perseverance and working towards goals while also teaching students to be mindful and considerate of those around them. Seeing my son use these valuable lessons at his age validates the positive impact this program has had on him. If you are looking for a high quality, comprehensive martial arts program, you will find it at Revolution Martial Fitness.

We’re thankful to Sensei Paul for the opportunity to do something fun and almost normal out of the house.Students have been awesome doing their part by wearing masks (we like the kid’s “summer performance” mask from Rafi Nova), and their sparring gloves. We feel safe and look forward to seeing other friends returning soon!

Martial Arts was something completely foreign to me, and I wasnt sure what to expect when I joined RMF. I get nervous trying new things, especially when I dont know anyone. But I must say, this experience has been INCREDIBLE to say the least. Everyone (staff and students) has been so welcoming and friendly that there really is no need to be nervous. They really support new members. They encourage them, help them, motivate them, and include them in the community here. The training itself has been transformational. Its helped increase my focus, my endurance, body awareness, and both physical and mental strength. I recommend RMF to anyone who needs an outlet, who wants a workout, and to anyone who is looking for a place they can develop both their mind and body. And let me add that at any age this is possible, and at any age this is beneficial.

Everyone is treated with sincerity, kindness and respect. I think this is one of the many reasons why the students come to class with a positive attitude and ready to learn. Our family (three girls, ages 11, 9, and 7) has been a part of the RMF community for 4 years. I could write about their amazing curriculum, charismatic staff, or immaculate facilities, but I think my oldest daughter got to the heart of the benefits of RMF last night. After loudly cheering for her friends and family from the sidelines at RMFs promotion ceremony, she said As much as I love watching, I would rather be on the mat. I feel at home on the mat. I feel like myself. Hearing my slow-to-warm-up, tween daughter say this warms my heart. In our suburban world of nuclear families and structured playdates, RMF is our village ...a place where my girls are treasured, challenged and inspired ... a place where all the lessons I am struggling to teach my girls at home (but that sometimes get lost in the day-to-day shuffle) are reinforced ... a place where they can be themselves and gain the confidence to bring that authentic version of themselves out into the rest of the world.

We were introduced to RMF by a neighbor of ours. Sensei Paul came into our lives at a time where my husband and I were at the end of our resources and not sure what else to do. Our daughters were legally adopted by us in 2016 and were placed with us during the 2014/2015 school year. That being said during their placement, my youngest daughter was diagnosed with ADHD, Anxiety, and DMDD which is known by Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder and was dealing with a traumatic past. Our youngest daughter on a daily basis would have tantrums and aggressive behavior towards myself and her sister. While she would challenge my husbands authority. My daughter had no regards to respecting people, taking on responsibilities, boundaries... So my husband and I signed her up to join RMF. Fast forward to 2 years later our daughter is a different person who is now a blue belt. Yes she has days that are hard, but now she can get through them with coping skills that she has learned form Sensei Paul and his instructors. She shows kindness towards others. Shes respectful, loving, sweet, and full of energy, and has a great personality. Sensei Paul not only teaches mixed martial arts, he also teaches lessons that children or adults can carry with them through life. He teaches kindness, respect, he teaches how to handle bullying in a non physical way. Other things that I like about Sensei Paul is that when your child is having a hard time before class or during class he will find time to personally sit down and talk with them to figure whats going on with them. Not only is Sensei Paul an amazing teacher, hes an incredible mentor and person. There are no words to fully express how appreciated and grateful my husband and I are for the wonderful teaching experience that Sensei Paul and his instructors teach to all those who take their classes. And sometimes just sitting there watching the class you take away some of his wisdom of words that he teaches his class during mat chat.

My experience at RMF can only be described as life changing. I have been training for 8 years and working as a teaching assistant in the younger classes for 4 years. Sensei Paul does an amazing job of teaching his students. He cares deeply about each student and his passion for the martial arts is evident both on and off the mat! Before any new student’s first class, Sensei Paul has a private introduction lesson with each new student to not only cover some of the basics that you will need for their first class, but also to get to know the student and develop a rapport with them that will hopefully last for years to come. I am thankful everyday that 8 years ago my parents chose to enroll me at RMF. To anyone looking for martial arts classes, either for yourself of your child: RMF is the right place. The people who you train with are amazing and, I might be a little biased here, but I think the staff is the best; certainly in the area, probably anywhere. I have recently moved away to college and sadly do not train consistently anymore, but I know that no matter where I go I am always part of the RMF family. That is what you are a part of when you join RMF, not just another martial arts school, you are part of a family.

Revolution Martial Fitness (RMF) is one of the best finds in Metrowest!I first came upon the “dojo” when I was discouraged by the karate studio my two young children were attending. My eldest child has some physical limitations and he was so demoralized and demeaned by the owner of that first karate studio that we left and never came back. RMF is the first place I called and I feel like I won the lottery. The owner and head instructor is Sensei Paul. You can tell every day that this is his passion and dream. He knows the names of every student and meets individually for a mini-lesson before the first class where he really works to build a connection and understand each student. Sensei Paul has such tremendous energy during class and inspires every student to give 100%.Sensei Paul runs the class with help of a group of assistant instructors who are mainly high school students who attend the dojo. Their maturity level and ability amaze me each time I watch them assist the younger students. They are perfect role models and it is so encouraging to see such confident, strong and able young people. Now, all three of my children (ages 11, 8, 6) attend RMF. They are all so different from each other and the practice allows them to grow in their areas of need including confidence, sense of self, attention and following directions. I joke with Sensei Paul that the days my kids come to class I can lighten up on my parenting. His “mat chat” at the end of each class is inspiring and encouraging. He uses real examples that kids can relate to and the kids leave with such a good life lesson. Additionally, the sense of belonging and community is strong and lessons about giving back to your community are regularly iterated through food collections, pajama drives, etc.Without a doubt, Revolution Martial Fitness is an incredible place for children and adults alike to develop a strong sense of self, mind and body.

This is my sons first experience with martial arts...he started just under 2 and a half years ago...hes now 11. I cannot stress enough what an unbelievable experience its been these past 2+ years. From his very first class Sensei Paul Castagno made him feel comfortable, welcome, included, and challenged. There is a passion and focus my son is showing toward this sport that I am convinced is the result of him being inspired by Paul.Revolution Martial Fitness is more than just a place to learn to punch and kick. Paul teaches focus and discipline and respect in a very calm way that reaches the younger students...he teaches teamwork in what some might view as an individual sport (remember, youre training WITH your partner, not competing AGAINST your partner...you work together to improve every day).My son has said many times that he knows if Sensei Paul compliments me, I really did it right...but he never makes me feel bad if I mess something up).Every class ends with a 5 minute mat chat where everyone sits in a circle and Paul talks about focus, discipline, doing the right things, listening to your parents, helping others, contributing to society in a positive way, pushing through adversity, trying your best, etc.Paul has done a tremendous job in fostering a dojo family atmosphere with the students, families of the students, the community (the Natick Food bank holiday food drive gets bigger every year!) and also the assistants, who are mostly teenagers of higher belt rank. The assistants also make sure to know EVERY students name from the students 1st class, and after every turn through a drill, every student is given words of encouragement, instruction and a high 5! Theres just constant positive reinforcement.Every year he takes a group of teenage students down to Alabama to help build and renovate homes in one of the poorest counties in the country....his students get to see first hand how much we all truly have, to appreciate it and how to give back to the community...out of the dojo, into the world. Its just another example of the teamwork and family atmosphere hes built these last 10 years since the school opened.A quick story...in one class, my son was a bit hesitant about doing something that he clearly was ready to do. Paul said to him, I would never ask you to do it if I didnt think you were ready and I didnt think you could do it. My son tried and succeeded. We had said similar things to him ourselves, but decided to refer back to Sensei Paul and use that in a few instances. My son can be shy sometimes...I wanted him to order his own meal in a restaurant...he didnt want to, he was afraid hed mess up. I used Pauls quote, encouraged him a bit, my son ordered his meal successfully, and hasnt looked back. Same thing with ordering deli meat at the grocery store while I was grabbing other food...same thing when I told him to describe how he wanted his own hair cut...all with successful results with help from confidence (and a good quote!) received at the dojo. This has been a long review...in summary, if youre considering martial arts for you or your kids, you owe it to yourself to at least go talk to Paul and try a class or 2. I would be shocked if your search didnt end right there and not long afterwards you too are writing a glowing review of Revolution Martial Fitness.

When our daughters were 6 and 9, we shopped around for a martial arts school. None of the other area schools instructors impressed us like RMFs Sensei Paul Castagno. We found him then (as now) to be an earnest, enthusiastic and caring owner/instructor who was totally focused on his students and their development. As parents, we were always impressed with RMFs philosophy that true fitness spans beyond the physical skills and strength-building that are the core of Sensei Pauls instruction. His so-called mat-chats, the student huddle that he holds after every class, cover a range of other fitness components such as food & nutrition, behavior & healthy habits, citizenship, fostering community and respect. Using this pulpit, he helps students apply the on-mat skills out of the classroom and into the world. His teaching style blends deep martial-arts knowledge and skills with street-smarts, humor and humility. His instruction is always age and skill-level appropriate for both kids and adults. I know this firsthand because after watching my kids rapid growth at RMF for a year, I started in the adult class and have been there ever since. Never content at just being the instructor, Sensei Paul is constantly learning new ideas and material. Always on a quest to better himself to deepen the knowledge he brings to his school, he frequently attends martial arts & fitness venues locally, as well as around the country and internationally.Pauls leadership at RMF has been an essential part of my two daughters education, helping form them into fit, confident and strong young women. For me personally, he has helped me fight off the mid-40s paunch that plagues office workers. Ill also say there is nothing like the honest sweat of pounding & kicking the crap out of a punching-bag to chase away the blues of a day full of meetings and demands on my focus and time.Paul often says rather gratefully that his students interest in showing-up for class, is what enables him to do the thing he loves: teaching martial arts and developing people into fully fit, contributing members of society. Fortunately, he continually fosters students interest in the classes with his focus, enthusiasm and dedication (In our seven years at Sensei Pauls school, I can count on just two hands the number of classes he didnt personally teach). We are lucky to have landed at Revolution Martial Fitness and are grateful to Sensei Paul for his dedication to his mission and being a big part of the Village raising our girls.

My children are entering their fourth year at RMF. Sensei Paul is a wonderful role model of kindness, persistence and physical and mental fitness, and he has become an important part of the village that supports our family. My children have gained confidence, leadership and negotiation skills, coordination and strength through their time spent at the dojo. Two of my favorite things about this school are Sensei Pauls mat chats, where he spends the last few minutes of the class sharing life skills stories, and his commitment to demonstrating positive values in the community through various events and projects. The students here work hard and have fun!

Im not entirely sure how to begin this review. Ill start with life-changing. Its a heavy phrase to throw around, so I mean it when I say it. RMF has not only changed me physically (it changed my entire lookout on working out), but I was also changed mentally; Im happier, more confident, and, above all else, a leader. Moreover, Sensei Paul is the best, more sincere, instructor that I can recommend. Many other schools believe business trumps all. Paul Castagno, however, focuses on the student, and martial arts, over anything else. I find myself quoting him on a daily basis.RMF wont rush you through to a cardboard black belt. As Sensei Paul says, a Black Belt is not a measure of your ability to beat someone up. Its a measure of your physical fitness, your dedication to charity and your community, and your self defence- defence of your body, your health, and your mind. This school changed me a thousand times for the better. I cannot recommend it highly enough. I owe who I am today to Revolution Martial Fitness, and Sensei Paul.

My 6 yr old daughter started at Revolution Martial Fitness about 10 months ago…and she LOVES it!!! I chose Revolution Martial Fitness for my daughter because I googled martial arts schools & this one had a program for kids called the bullyproof program. Being that she had just started public school, I felt this program sounded like the perfect program…& it is! My daughter is not just learning martial arts (which is totally awesome!), she is learning discipline, how to become fit, how to deal with bullies and how to deal with strangers. She has also learned the importance of practicing to improve herself. She is gaining more & more confidence every day. Sensei Paul Castagno, the instructor, is amazing with kids. Every time Sensei Paul steps foot on the mat, he gives his all…he is full of energy and the kids respond amazing well to him. He teaches the kids to avoid fighting, but to know how to defend if necessary. He also promotes teamwork and respect. He is very devoted to his school and his students. Many of the upper belt students assist during classes…and all of his assistants are patient, helpful, energetic and respectful. The class schedule provides ample choices for each class (my daughter’s class meets 4 times a week…she can go once a week or all 4 times). As for the school itself - the equipment is top-notch and clean; there is an area for parents to wait/watch; there is a separate boys & girls restroom/changing area and there is plenty of parking. I drive my daughter from Waltham to Natick for class…during rush hour…not a fun ride – but I will continue to do it because, for us, Revolution Martial Fitness is THE martial arts school.
