I attended this as a student from kindergarten to fifth grade, and Im not a sophomore in high school. This school seems to have so much favoritism towards students whos parents donate the most money to the school. The afterschool counselor from my last year there was also a really big pain in the a**, changing rules to accommodate what she liked. Also the teachers here dont create a safe space for neurodivergent children, myself included (i have ADHD). Im not sure how it is now but my experience there was mediocre at best.

So thankful for PPA! When our family moved and my son had to switch schools in the middle of his 1st grade year. The his teacher and school staff made his transition such an amazing experience. He was welcomed with open arms. Caring faculty and friends since day one. I will forever be grateful to Mrs. Santana! She truly went above and beyond for us.

My daughter was in this school since kindergarten. She is now in second grade. My experience with Pinecrest Preparatory Academy quickly became very unpleasant and disappointing to say the least. Kindergarten and first grade my daughter was good student, not demonstrating any difficulty with the curriculum and material given throughout these grades. Beginning September of second grade, just a month into the school year, my daughter’s grades dramatically dropped from A and B to D and F. According to the teacher, who has shown to be a great teacher, my daughter did not know how to read. I came to the realization that my daughter’s grades have been inflated in kindergarten and first grade as if she was excelling in school when in reality she was not. After 2 meetings with the teacher, who helped my daughter a lot and who gave me information and tips about reading, she recommended my daughter to repeat the grade insinuating she will be better next year and that it was OK because the directors daughter also repeated to second-grade, I was in shock at this recommended resolution. After days of waiting to speak with the director of the school, the very unprofessional and unpleasant staff Kept assuring me that the director would get back to me. Not waiting any longer I sat myself in the office until she got to work. Which ended up being the only way for me to get in contact with the director. The director was very unpersonable And extremely unprofessional. She too recommended me to repeat my daughter in second grade as if that was the only option I had because her daughter also did it or tutoring which my daughter has since last year. Some teachers that work there charge 40 to 50 dollars per hour. I have immediately removed my daughter from the school to another school due to this incident. Which I have heard is not the first.

I would not recommend this school, they have favorites depending on how much money the kids parent donate to them, all they care about its money. There is also lots of cases of bullies that have gone on in the past with no action from their principal. They are very cold and rude people, specially their principal you could tell she has no passion at all for what she does. The teachers are a little different can only speak for the one that my child had .. Ms.Leal was her last one and she was great!! If you want your child to have a nice day at school and you dont want to be asked for money every couple of days please choose different school !!!!

The school isnt the best there is better but the education is ok i actually went there till 5th grade the food is ok the bathrooms are disgusting let me rephrase that horrific i have seen poop outside the toilets and other kids playing in the bathroom the teachers do have favorites like some girls would have work to do and walk up to the teacher ask a question then have a conversation with the teacher and some girls would braid there hair and so on and so far oh thats not that bad but now that means that there friends so when a male boy gets in trouble its how it is supposed to be but when a female child gets in trouble its almost nothing the only good person there is the counselor who has helped me before and she has no favorites so thats the only reason im giving this review 2 stars

My friends child who is only 6 years old was being bullied by some kids. She would tell me how her child would cry herself to sleep, dreading having to go to school in the morning, not wanting to do hw or even reading together before bed which was something her child used to love doing together. When she told the teacher what was going on, she was told that she had never witnessed anything but that she would keep an eye out.. Weeks passed and still my friends child was crying at drop off, drawing pictures of the bullies, and begging to change schools. This is a first grader!! What child would want to change schools and not see their friends, just to get away from a bully.Ok.. there are bullies everywhere. But if the school doesnt do anything WHEN THE PARENT is telling them whats going on, and THEY ARE WATCHING THE CHILD CRYING HYSTERICALLY, RELUCTANT TO WALK INTO CLASS..... Then thats where I think theres a problem! My friend was right beside me, in tears when she hung up with the assistant principal who was calling her to tell her that she had to come pick up her child at school, at NOT EVEN 9:30AM YET, because her child was in the office crying and didnt want to go to class. When my friend told the assistant principal what was going on, she clearly said, THAT IT WAS THE FIRST TIME SHE HAD EVER HEARD OF ANY BULLYING GOING ON WITH THE CHILD (which again... why isnt the assistant principal notified of a bullying incident IN HER SCHOOL?!)To make matters worse, THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL, asked my friend, OK, WHAT IS IT THAT YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO DO? And my friend told her.... Well, what I would EXPECT you to do, is to walk my child to the classroom and stand in front of the classroom, and speak to all the boys and girls in the classroom and let them know you are aware of what is going on with the bullying, and that YOU, the assistant principal will call their parents if it happens again.Honestly... I dont think my friend asked for too much!! Only for some support and peace of mind. At the same time, it would have been important for her child to feel PROTECTED AND BACKED UP by the ADULTS who are AROUND when mommy had to be at work. DUE TO THE LACK OF INTEREST, SUPPORT, RESPECT AND COMPASSION THAT WAS DEMONSTRATED BY THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL & SOME OF THE STAFF, MY FRIEND PULLED HER CHILD OUT THAT SAME DAY AND SWITCHED HER TO ANOTHER SCHOOL (THESE COMPLAINTS ARE NOT ABOUT THE TEACHER, BECAUSE SHE TELLS ME THAT THE TEACHER WAS ALWAYS INTERESTED IN HER CHILDS WELL BEING, HER PROGRESS AS A STUDENT AND ALWAYS VERY COMMUNICATIVE WITH HER !!)Today.... her child goes to a new school willingly and is very happy there! We need to listen to our children!!!!As a parent myself... I would not recommend this school to anyone, not after witnessing what my friend and her child went through! I dont EVER write reviews... but this one was a MUST!

I highly do not reccomend this school, 2016-2017 was my first and final year there for being a freshmen, its education and whoever performs well or poorly is completely their choice, but the school, its environment and especially SOME staff is terrible. Security harrasses students and if students become friends with them and because of favorite they wont harrass them and let them off, they will approve of passes to skip and will give violations and have students sent to the office for pointless reasons, even sometimes force them to see the dean of discipline. The dean of discipline of the school is an amazing guy and will take control and makes the decisions towards consequences when it comes to behavior or violations and the school is strict and its supposed to perform this way and its special uniforms for college prepping, overall he is understanding and gives chances to students and does his job very well compared to mr.mesa the old dean of discipline . Mrs. Kairalla is a very difficult staff member, she is assistant principle and does tours of the school, acts very nice and professional for parents over the phone and in person but towards students shes extremely disrespectful and out of hand, would say things to cover up her mistakes, and makes other students look bad and mistreats them, constantly uses sarcasm and acts cocky, the school is a mess, a teacher has been let go this year for making fun of a special needs child and a student expelled for pulling out a knife over an online bullying incident. terrible terrible school, do not put your kid here .

THE ONE STAR RATING I GAVE WAS TOO MUCH. ITS TOO BAD I CAN NOT RATE THIS A NEGATIVE NUMBER. THIS SCHOOL IS A PIECE OF GARBAGE! Every child should be treated fairly and have an equal opportunity to become part of afterschool activities regardless of whether the students parents are part of the school staff or not. My niece was DENIED an opportunity to participate in afterschool activities over FOUR times in a row. However, if you go thru the cheer squad, MOST- if not ALL- the students that made the squad have family on the schools staff. These afterschool clubs are meant for children to learn, grow and have fun. Lets make this fun for ALL of the children who attend and love this school. LETS NOT PICK AND CHOOSE.

A family member told me the principal made her remove her daughters Ash Wednesdays cross from her forehead. This is a violation of ones rights and could not believe the principal would make her do this. Just as a Muslim should be aloud to wear a hijab a Christian should be punished.

Although I have already been made aware by a meeting with the administration of this recent situation, the administration, teachers and coaches are very unfair when it comes to giving the children opportunities. You can tell when the students are in clubs like cheerleading, sports, etc, that those students are usually always children of the teachers, staff or the principal . Thats clearly discrimination! Arent coaches, teachers and principals supposed to be fair? Arent they supposed to reward hard work, discipline and coachability. My daughter has so much love for cheerleading and that is being destroyed by this schools lack of equality. Cheerleading is all about working hard and having fun doing it. You shouldnt give anybody the power to destroy your childs love for this beautiful game. I hope this gets taken into consideration as this is the THIRD consecutive time my daughter has been denied a spot on your cheerleading squad.

The school is horrible! There are teachers who are not certified! The principal thinks she is a model instead of Director! My daughter went from Kindergarten to 3rd until I cant take it anymore and change it. I waited a lot for ignorance! I do not recommend school to anyone. Children do not learn anything and do not offer any help to students who academically fall behind.
