Coconut Grove Montessori has been the home away from home for my toddlers. The decision for any parent to find the right school and, most importantly, teachers is not taken lightly especially for their toddler as it is their first experience away from home. Ms. Carmen, whom has been the teacher for 3 out of my 4 children is an Angel on Earth. I can absolutely say she is a household name and is viewed as Family in our Home. The transition to move into the Childrens House with Ms. Michelle is a beautiful one as they have been taught independence and confidence in the Childrens House. Ms. Michelle is gifted with the talent to teach in a loving and cohesive way which affirms their learning from Toddler House and assures that learning is Fun! Its beautiful to watch her teach 3 and 4 year olds as if they were teenagers because she gives them the freedom to engage in what is interesting to them while guiding them on whats best. The administration knows every child, sibling, grandparent and parent by name. A call is placed if absent or tardy to make sure all is well. I cannot say more about the school in general as we truly have LOVED it.

Coconut Grove Montessori was the answer to our prayers. After having gone through 2 months of Zoom classes in the public school system in the spring of 2020, I knew my son needed to find a school that would embrace his need to physically engage in lessons and provide him structure. He receives this and so much more at Coconut Grove Montessori. Their commitment to the Montessori curriculum is to be commended. In order to reach their full potential as a learner, each child is supported and encouraged to work through the curriculum at his or her own pace. The method of mixing students of different grade levels has been a tremendous motivating factor for my son who wants to do the same work as the older students. He also enjoys being given leadership opportunities by helping the younger students in the class. In addition, we couldn’t have asked for better teachers and staff. The fact that much of the faculty and staff have been at the school for many years also speaks volumes to me. This fact shows their commitment and love for what they do. The faculty, staff, and administration all take a genuine interest in each child. The school not only focus on academics, but the social and emotional side of each child. The small class sizes allow for the teacher and students to form strong communal bonds, making the class feel more like a family. We are eternally grateful for the love, nurturing and support from our CGMS family.

My girls are very happy here. Their teachers show them so much love and are so good with them. They cannot wait to go to school every morning. I am amazed at how early my younger daughter has learned to read. The teachers are wonderful at meeting the children where they are at and giving the just the right amount of developmentally appropriate challenges.

Weve been at the school for 4 years and are thoroughly delighted with the experience. Not only are there strong academics and a family atmosphere, but I have always felt secure in leaving my daughter in the competent hands of the teachers and staff. The classrooms are perfectly designed and adapted to the kids development, and the teachers are very involved and so nice. Our 2 yo loves going to school. He learns constantly and developed his language and social skills considerably.

I have a 3.5 and a 4.5 years old, both have joined CGMS for 8 months. From crying and scared to go to school to now they cant wait to go back to school after the New Year and Being together with their loving teachers, well-behave classmates and resume their enjoyed after-school programs. Besides very responsible and loving teachers, Two owners of the school are wonderful too. They are always there to be with children and teachers and make sure things are well run in the school and truly following the Montessori concept. School was my most worried factor to move to Miami from Europe, now it turns out the best part of our settlement in this new city. My son was in this wonderful school for three years and he couldnt be happier. We were very sad when we had to move. All the staff is amazing! We cannot thank the school enough for proving such a wonderful education and keeping it fun at the same time. We have a lot of great memories. Our daughter joined Coconut Grove Montessori School nine years ago, when she was two years old. It’s been an amazing journey watching her grow up and develop under this environment that is so nurturing and caring but also challenging. I would describe CGMS as a team of experienced educators that understand education and competent teachers that are deeply committed to the children’s development, all in a safe, friendly environment in which everyone tries their best to help one-another.During those nine years, we felt as if we were part of a family. She’s always felt motivated and engaged on her school work, thanks in part to the Montessori system that caters to each child’s potential, but also to an amazing staff and team of teachers that are truly committed to each child’s development.I love the fact that the Montessori systems mixes kids from different grades and ages in a same classroom. This was instrumental for the development of her leadership skills and self-confidence, as she evolved from being a young novice in the classroom to becoming a mentor for the younger incoming kids. This collective effort resulted in our daughter being accepted by two of Miami’s best educational institutions and, we feel, gave her a strong foundation for the new challenges ahead.

Both of my kids have been attending Coconut Grove Montessori School since they were toddlers. There is no place I would rather them be. The classrooms are beautiful & everything is very clean. The Montessori education they have received, and will continue to receive astonishes me. My kindergartener is already doing long division, and reading without issue. Their school environment has created independence in both of them, and they work hard to try to figure things out on their own. Every teacher & the directors truly care about all the children, and it shines through my childrens love for them all. I highly recommend CGMS for any parent looking for a loving and nurturing environment in which their children can learn to their fullest potential.

My two children attended CGMS for several years. In my opinion, CGMS provides the best value for private school education in Miami hands down.The teachers are incredible - they are loving, warm and kind. They respond to your childs needs both educationally and emotionally.The best quality offered by a CGMS education is that your child can accelerate at his or her own pace. There are no limits on your childs ability to advance. If your 3rd grader can handle 5th grade math, CGMS will accommodate. If your child can read at age 4, CGMS will teach them how to read more. Your child will not be held back as he or she would be in a traditional school setting where all children learn at the same pace from the exact same curriculum.Additionally, the fact that CGMS offers classes with mixed ages (a hallmark of a traditional Montessori classroom), provides such a positive environment for the children. The younger students see what lessons the older children are doing and they strive to achieve what their older counterparts are doing. Conversely, the older children assist the younger children with their lessons and they learn patience and understanding.After leaving CGMS, both of my children are now at one of Miamis best private schools. Several teachers at their new school have remarked at how exceptionally well prepared our children were for this new environment and they have said that you can tell that they came from a Montessori school because they think in creative and advanced ways. For example, they see and make connections between mathematical concepts that are not typically explored in a traditional educational setting. I credit CGMS with fostering a love of learning in our children for preparing them exceptionally well for middle school and beyond.

We entrusted our three grandchildren to the directors and faculty of CGMS. and could not be more thankful.They have an excellent curriculum, truly hands-on learning environment,and small class size. There cannot be a more perfect place for a child to grow and learn than at CGMS. The teachers are not only extremely skilled and capable and dedicated, they truly love their kids and the kids love them right back. My daughter attended CGMS during her Pre-KK, Pre-K, and Kindergarten years. She had just arrived from France and couldnt speak or understand English. Her teacher at CGMS was truly amazing and my daughter graduated from Kindergarten with an excellent academic level and came out more than well prepared to move on to a very challenging program at another school. By the time she left the school, she had already become fluent in English and read it perfectly. My daughter loves CGMS and her former teacher there. She made so many good friends there whom she still keeps in touch with. We have great memories from attending the CGMS childrens house

My oldest son was part of the first graduating class! I cannot express the gratitude I have for the teachers and staff at CGMS. Although my son was a bit shy, he flourished there!!! Two years ago in January we arrived in Miami and started the search for schools for our 2 children, ages 2 and 5, who had just arrived from Argentina. We went to the most prestigious schools in Miami, and they all recommended the montessori in Coconut Grove to prepare them for entrance exams and adaptation to the American educational system.Words are not enough to describe the level of education that this school gave our children. Without knowing yet, in less than 3 months our son learned to speak, read and write perfect English and ended up adding, subtracting and multiplying in kindergarten. If the educational part was spectacular, the human was even superior. We were lucky to have Ms Michelle and Ms Tharpe, the most incredible teachers we could have had, they are not only excellent educators but they teach them values, help them solve situations, teach them manners, respect, and above all love. Love for her friends, for her teachers, and for learning.My two children entered Gulliver, and I can assure you that we miss those two teachers every day.
