My daughter has attended Goddard for 8 years. It is the best childcare center in the area. Working full time is stressful with a child, but I’ve always had piece of mind leaving her in their care. The faculty is clean and well taken care of. The staff is loving and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them!

My daughter was at this Goddard School for almost 2 years and I have nothing but good things to say about this school. The administration is professional yet personable, the teachers truly care about your children and they have a culture of going above and beyond for everyone. The teacher/admin communication to parents about things going on at the school and how their childs day is going is amazing, which is something that I think every parent desires. I did TONS of research on daycares/preschools in the Mechanicsville area and the Goddard School Mechanicsville is the best of the best. I will always and forever recommend this school to parents looking for a safe, uplifting and fun environment for their children.

I moved my son to the Goddard in Mechanicsville in June and my son absolutely loves it. He loves the directors and all of the staff, they are extremely friendly and he always has fun. The education provided and curriculum is great and he always is learning something new. He is currently in the private kindergarten and after school program and loves it. He has not cried once since he started about going into class and I love how happy he is and the relationships he has formed. I would highly recommend this school. The owner as well as directors are amazing !!

We started our Goddard Mechanicsville journey after having difficult experiences at a local Montessori School (Montessori is great, just wasnt a good fit for our child). Goddard of Mechanicsville took a child whod experienced difficult interactions at school daily at her previous preschool and turned her into a preschooler who loved school and felt successful there (at her previous school, shed come home saying that she was a bad kid!). Goddard of Mechanicsville actually felt even more child-centered than our previous Montessori program. They were able to offer a very loving environment that also provided structure in a way that worked for our child. The teachers and admin staff are all so attentive. The facility is super clean and well decorated. The communication with the staff could not be better - they are very timely and professional in their responses to email and phone calls. I cant recommend Goddard of Mechanicsville enough!

We were so lucky to discover Goddard School of Mechanicsville when we had our son! It has been such a great place for him to attend. The staff are caring, attentive and friendly and seem to be truly invested in our childs growth and well-being. They have great programs in place like yoga, sign language assistance and activity centers. Id highly recommend it.

We withdrew our son from enrolling because at the first phone call we received to discuss paperwork, we were informed The Goddard School of Mechanicsville had closed for 7 weeks due to COVID-19 - not enough parents were essential workers to stay open Both my husband and I continued to work through all stages of lockdown, both of us essential workers, and cannot risk a future daycare closure for such a long time. Because we withdrew within 30 days of his start date, no refund (first month tuition).I understand all about adherence to policy, and the need to protect the school from financial harm when someone cancels enrollment, but I am shocked and dismayed that a school with such a supposed prestigious reputation would deny any compromise in our situation, considering the reason for out cancellation revolves around the GLOBAL PANDEMIC that has since redefined our society and economy.

We could not have more positive things to say about The Goddards School of Mechanicsville. From the learning program to the kind and loving staff, we felt we our daughter was getting the best care possible each day.

We were set to start next month, however upon staff reaching out with the welcome packet we were informed they closed due to the lockdowns. Since my spouse and I are both essential workers, we cannot attend a daycare that they themselves do not consider an essential business. Unfortunately, we were within 30 days of starting when this issue came to light and were denied any sort of refund on the first months tuition.The reason for the 1 star is they fail to notify applicants of this until it is too late to cancel making it impossible to comply with their policy guidelines. We were unaware that daycare facilities closed due to lockdowns, considering our current daycare remained open throughout (located in same County).

This is a wonderful school and my very shy son is delighted each day to go here!The teachers and staff know each kid by name and are so caring. My son was anxious at first and he had the most wonderful teacher who sat and talked with him to calm him down. We also enjoy the pictures and detailed updates they send each day!

The staff is always very warm, friendly, and happy to answer any questions that might arise. They are super organized and love how the curriculum encourages the children to explore their curiosity. My son just loves his school!

We absolutely love the staff at The Goddard School! Everyone we have come into contact with since we toured has been so kind and caring. They have truly taken such great care of our little one, and he absolutely LOVES going each day!! We are so thankful to have found such a wonderful place!!

I love The Goddard School. The owner, directors, and teachers are amazing with my son. He has learned so much since attending this school. I say “school” because it’s not named as a daycare, nor do any of the staff treat children at The Goddard School as a daycare - the entire staff is versed in early childhood development (whether formally educated or years of experience).I have formed wonderful bonds with the directors, owner, and each of my son’s teachers. They all communicate, with me, experiences, joys, successes, and concerns regarding my son - because communication is extremely important.I just cant say enough positive things about The Goddard School. I am always proud to say that my son attends The Goddard School!

Trust me when I say that my wife and I toured countless daycares in a 20 mile radius of our house before our first son was born and this Goddard is simply the “gold standard.” We can’t thank the teachers enough for teaching and loving our kids every day while we are at work. We never have to worry because we see the pictures they send us during the day and their shining smiles say it all. Kudos to this great group of teachers and staff, we are so lucky to have you!

I know from the moment I leave my son that he’s being well taken care of. I never doubt for one second that he is safe and being cared for. I pick him up and can tell he had a good day. It’s never easy leaving your newborn, but with Goddard it’s easier.

I cant say enough good things about Goddard in Mechanicsville. Our son attended from 16 months until he was 4 years old - we only left because we moved to the other side of town. The teachers are dedicated, kind, and creative. Kathy and Steve create a really welcoming and fun atmosphere, and its clear that the staff enjoy their work. There is a real dedication to both loving each child as an individual and to learning through play. Lots of stories, songs, art projects, and playtime. We loved all of the special events and parties - our son looked forward to them, and they were a chance to get to know the other families.Nuts and bolts stuff: The facility is modern and spotless. Excellent communication between the school, the teachers, and the parents - daily email updates, phone calls whenever there was a bump or a bruise or a fever. Students bring their own lunch, but snacks are provided - I liked being able to feed our son as I chose. Very accountable in terms of administering medications, etc.But most of all - I felt that our sons time at Goddard was so good for him because he was part of a loving community. Ill always be grateful to them!

Great environment and school for the little ones, Goddard school Mechanicsville, gives the parents peace of mind. We know we are leaving our babies in good care. The teachers and staff are all very helpful and caring. The building is clean and beautiful decorated! We also love all the extra family activities!

They got a new owner and it just isnt the same as it used to be. I loved the school because teachers had been there for a long time... No turn over. Unfortunately that has changed. Still a good education though for my kids.

Nothing but good things to say about this Goddard location. My daughter has been in since the newborn room and 4 years later she is thriving and learning and loves her teachers. Would recommend to any parent!

Our older daughter has been at The Goddard School in Mechanicsville for 2.5 years and we’ve had nothing but excellent experiences from the infant class all the way through now beginning potty training. What I love most about TGS is how they deliver academic lessons, instill good social skills and cultivate her imagination. She comes home happy every day! We’re excited to have our younger daughter starting at TGS next month as we know she will receive the same amazing love, patience, and learning.

Weve been part of The Goodard School Mechanicsville family for the past six years. Our older two children had a nanny until the ages of three and four. With that level of dedicated and loving care you can imagine I was terrified to enroll them in a daycare but felt compelled to for the social interaction with other kids and the structured classroom time. My standard are extremely high (ask anyone that knows me) and Goddard has surpassed them each and every day. Our older two children have more than excelled in elementary school and I must attribute a great deal of that to their teachers at The Goddard School. They have tested off the charts from day one and their teachers have even commented this is typical with students who attend the Mechanicsville Goddard.Fast forward a few years and our youngest joined the Goddard family at four months. I was like a brand new parent as I never had a child that young in daycare notice I keep using quotes because they are family to use not daycare. Our youngest was NOT an easy baby. She refused to take a bottle, when we finally got her to would only allow one teacher to feed her. The teachers and directors at Goddard never gave up, they continued to love on her just as I would. She is three, has been speaking in complete sentences and fully potty trained since the age of two. Again, highly attributable to the amazing Goddard family.Again, queen of high standards here and I wouldnt go anywhere else.

I am so incredibly thankful for the new family I have formed at The Goddard School of Mechanicsville! At the beginning we loved our school. The staff in the first 2 classrooms are great. Lots of turnovers on teachers. Has recently taken on a new owner and I heard things had changed. My son was chronically ill there and it seemed like parent sent their kids there sick all the time. We also had communication problems with teachers and would only get a he had a good day. When it came to the fact my son had a speech delay, there was never one concern brought to our attention. Please look closely into other options. We are at a church run program and he is doing much better!

Friendly caring staff. Clean and safe classes. Worth the money.

Tonight the last of our three girls graduated from The Goddard School in Mechanicsville, and it was a bittersweet evening for sure. For three years, we have grown to love the folks at this wonderful pre-school, and our kids have grown in social skills and in education, but most importantly in love. Everyone, from the non-teaching staff to the teachers to the directors and all the way to the owners, have come to know our girls and have shared in their growth. These people have not only been their teachers, but their friends and ours. Our older two girls loved to go pick up their youngest sister this past year, because they could see their old teachers, get hugs and remember the joyful times they had in those walls. What a special place The Goddard School in Mechanicsville has been to our family! Thank you all for your love, and for preparing our girls for public school and the world!
