Just signed my kid up for what I thought was a trial they offered for a month of classes $49.99, when we went to enroll him after 2 conversations with the instructor before this, we got roped into a $400 down payment that was never mentioned plus the $49 for the first month and $99 each month after that. Don’t get me wrong my kids happiness is absolutely worth $400 but it’s very disappointing and infuriating that they didn’t mention that down payment/deposit before we decided to enroll him. I feel like they pulled a bait and switch on us.

Best teachers you could ever ask for! They are AMAZING with the children, and our son is learning so much. He wants to go to class every day. I cant recommend this place enough-- it feels like one big family.

David Churchs Taekwondo America is an amazing martial arts facility in Maryville that is a true gem for youth of all ages / genders in our community. As a parent of a child who was very reluctant to join any extra curricular activity, we were 100% impressed by the way Mr. Church and his instructors interact with the kids and create a welcoming, positive, yet structured environment that focuses on growing students confidence while learning Taekwondo.The group class environment moves with structure and purpose. There were always enough instructors to work with the kids of various levels to teach the skills required at each level and the instructors knew the names of all the kids - it felt very personal from our first lesson as a matter of fact. We found the quality of the instructors to be so much more than we expected and watched them challenge the kids to work hard but were never harassing or intimidating.Our takeaway from Churchs Taekwondo was this is a business that walks the talk and is fully vested in the students. David is an excellent communicator and keeps parents updated of events and is easy to connect with if you have a need or question. If youre looking for a unique, fun and positive activity for your kids - definitely give this place a try.

We wanted to say thank you Mr. Church and the whole school so much for helping Colin blossom into the kiddo he is. He truly loves CTA and never complains about coming to class. My son has been attending Little Dragon classes for the last few months. We have seen tremendous improvement in his behavior and performance in and out of the classroom. He takes so much pride in doing Tae Kwon Do and earning new stripes and belts. The instructors are knowledgeable and so patient with the students. I appreciate the efforts the school made to continue instruction with distance zoom learning during quarantine. The instructors have reached out to my son personally to acknowledge his achievements. They really go above and beyond to encourage students and help them grow physically, mentally and emotionally.

My familys journey began about a couple of years ago, when I was just like everyone else looking for that perfect fit in a Martial arts school. You know how it is, when you have to set appointments around your work schedule, and try to satisfy that screaming little one (lol). I was having a really difficult time. Some were polite, and some were a good fit schedule wise, but it didnt feel right. Until one day I had schedule an appointment with another Martial arts school, which my daughter was begging me to leave. As we pulled out of the parking lot, we started discussing again why it was not a good fit. No one opened the door for us, or even acknowledged us until my Wife interrupted the class by making a noise with her chair. As I pulled out of the parking lot, we started to drive back home. When my daughter noticed the sign of Churchs Taekwondo America. Daddy can we please stop.... please just one more Dad she said, So I decided to pull in to see if they was accepting new students. As soon as I parked, and started to get out of my car.... people were coming out laughing, smiling, and talking to each other. Even the owner (which I found out later) was holding the door open, greeting and giving high fives to kids, and parents. Telling everyone to enjoy the rest of your day. Within a few seconds of walking in the door... I was greeted professionally by several several students, and even parents. It did not take long, when Mr. Church introduced his self (after closing the door 😆) I explained how frustrated I was, in choosing a Martial arts school and he said, I really am sorry to hear that, Would your daughter like to try out this school, and my daughter would not take no for an answer. Mr. Churchs Instructor team, is young Christian group of very close friends and families. Now almost 3 years later, my daughter is a 10 year old 1st Degree Black Belt, and still pushing through strong. Over a year later, I decided to get back into it again myself, and the rest is a true blessing. If you are looking for a Martial arts school, that is not going to make a difference in your childs life, not acknowledge you every class no matter what, will not care if you stayed or not, or even just take your money, with no guarantees then dont choose this school. If you are looking for a Martial arts school, that is caring, helpful, acknowledges you every class, or even outside of the school, lifts you up when you are down, sends you text messages to let you know how you are doing in class, and will always make sure your loved ones and friends are always welcomed with open arms, and most importantly.... gives your child the time of their life, then most definitely choose this school. I will guarantee the name speaks very loud for itself. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Church, and Churchs Taekwondo, and Taekwondo America we are truly blessed to have found our second home. My daughter went from being embarrassed about the uniform to waking up excited to practice her skills after about 2 weeks of class. I love how we can pick which days of the week to go to class and I switch it up sometimes so grandparents can take her. Its been over a month now since we started this program but it feels like we have been here longer. Every instructor knows her name and they utilize child psychology to encourage all the kids. I am impressed with this program. I was expecting great things to begin with but our experience has blown me out of the water. Thanks everyone for doing what you do!

The instructors are really knowledgeable about all levels and truly care about each and every student. They will come around and help each one individually as needed. They get great respect from the students as a result and really teach them so much more than Taekwondo. My entire family took classes and loved it! My grandson started when he was 4 and earned his Little Dragon Black Belt and now at almost 7 is working towards his new black belt. I also love how much they give back to the children of the community for the children.

This facility teaches all levels of Taekwondo with a professional family environment. My child loves it has fun and has gained confidence all while learning new skills. They also offer extra fun activities for the kids outside of scheduled class hours.

My first impression of Mr and Mrs Churchs first class operation of teaching the Korean art of Taekwondo is stellar to say the least. Their trainers are very experienced and completely knowledgeable at the level of ALL students. My encounters during training with Jeremy, Simon, and Hunter along with the Churchs ... has been very enlightening to say the least. So much is learned in such a minimal amount of time invested. Every $$$ on classes is a bargain. Trust me, this type of training is rare. To learn self defense in two classes is incredible. I am Happy:) with the investment of time.....sign up $49.00 !

Very happy with the results from our three grand children who go here for training. Awesome owners and great support staff they have. The instructors are the best, bar none. They are all great with the kids, as young as five years old! You would not go wrong going here for your training!

I have two boys that attend the school and I couldn’t be more pleased. The instructors are the best. They work so well with the students and genuinely care about them and their progress. I began my Journey with Churchs Taekwondo about 8 months ago. The team here is second to none. I would have never thought, at my age, that I could do this. Church Taekwondo America is a breath of fresh air! Not only do they have skills to teach, but they really know how to create a community. From knowing each child’s name on their 1st day of class, to recognizing each child’s needs. Every instructor is trained intentionally to help the children succeed and participate through the whole class. Each child is given special attention and encouragement. I highly recommend this martial arts school! My son has been attending for about 3 and a half years and I could not be happier with the results. Not only is he learning great Taekwondo training and self-defense, but he is doing great in school now, is very respectful, and is gaining self confidence in himself (the main reason I started him in this program). Many valuable life lessons are taught at this school. Mr. Church is amazing with these kids. They look up to him with respect and try their hardest for him. Mrs. Church is an excellent teacher too, working her magic with the teens class, building muscle, skill, and strength of character.I also attended the adult classes for some time, and really enjoyed them. My son has been taking classes for 2 years and i have seen awesome growth as a person. I my self joined, after a fathers day class, for many reasons weight loss was one. Our son has been part of the Church’s TKD America family for five years. I say family because that is what it is. From the highest ranked back belt to the beginning Little Dragon student, each is treated and respected as an equal member of a community. Each person is expected to carry his or her weight in supporting each other to better themselves.During the COVID-19 crisis, Mr. Church and his senior instructors continued to provide training for ALL of his students virtually, helping to maintain the work of each individual that would have normally occurred in class.If you are looking for a martial arts program in the greater Blount County area, look no further than Churchs Taekwondo America. You will find no higher level of care and investment into your child’s betterment than David and his team. I am proud that their investment into my son’s continued training means he now serves to instruct others at CTA.

I really hate to be this guy and write a 2 star, but this situation could have been avoided. Both our kids were given a free two week course, but on the first day Mr Church wants you to sign a contract and only give you that day for a locked in price. We had to put down a deposit to lock in special pricing. Our two kids no longer wanted to go after the last session of the 2 Free weeks due to a fast paced class and not learning any structure. Mr Church refused to pay back any deposits and cancelled the contract. This in my opinion is bad business and feels like a bit of a puppy mill to get as many people in the class as possible. I have been to other facilities with my niece with much better structure and everyone isnt running around totally confused. Buyer beware and do not sign anything until you know you like what you are buying. This review is based solely on the business end and not the other people working there. The other instructors treated our kids well and with respect. I wish the same was shown to me.

Been training there going on 2 years with the family. This is the perfect place to train and have fun. No hand outs here you will earn it and learn it here.

My son is almost 12 has ADHD. I was always concerned with his behavior and how he would use what he learned in class on his friends. Since he started at Churchs Taekwondo America last fall his behavior has greatly improved. He is showing more respect to others. He is not using his moves on his friends, instead he is trying to show them what he has learned. It is boosting his confidence and helping him in other aspects of his life.

You will not be disappointed with this fantastic martial arts program. All the staff works hard to ensure that every student is instilled with the tenets of Taekwondo: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control, & indomitable spirit. My daughter has been attending CTA since Aug 2019. She loves it. She has learned alot during her time there. Shes always super excited to go to class. She has made several friends since she has started and I have noticed a change in her.

I was really skeptical about the fruit this extracurricular would yield for my two boys, ages 7 and 9. Mr Church and his instructors do a great job of inspiring and motivating their students. Im really happy to see my boys eager to learn an art and continually improving. There are many options for martial arts, but I am satisfied with our choice of TKA and the way they invest in each student.

We have been a member for nearly a year now. My son loves it here! He has shown respect, maturity, and pure interest in something. The staff is all fantastic and very helpful. They take the time to help and listen to the students. I had looked at several different schools but I think Mr and Mrs Churchs school was by far the best!!!!

Students will learn TaeKwonDo from kind and gifted martial artists, but that’s almost secondary to the amount of personal growth students will see working with Mr., Mrs., Miss Church, and their incredible staff. Virtues like honesty, integrity, self discipline, and perseverance are exemplified, and taught here daily through the prism of TaeKwonDo. I cannot recommend this school highly enough!

Mr. Church and his whole team have been integral in raising my teen up right. Theyre patient, kind, and helpful, but also persevering, dedicated, and well rounded.

We have 3 grandchildren in this school, and all the instructors are awesome, we have 1 grandchild with some behavior issues and they are so good with him. We love it here.

We have been part of the Churchs Taekwondo family for the past 4 1/2 years. It has been an integral part in the maturity process for my son. This is an excellent place for your child (or adults) to go for an activity, to make friends, and learn what self control and discipline can do for them. The staff is awesome and even the parents get to mingle while the kids learn the art.
