Devan and I were looking for a dance studio close to Covington, LA. We came across Shall We Dance Studio. From the beginning, Shane was so helpful in getting us started with classes. We picked a unique song for our wedding dance, and he helped come up with the perfect dance that represented us. Shane is fun, helpful, and an awesome teacher! Shall we dance was a wonderful experience for my fiancé and I in preparing for our first dance for our wedding. Shane is an excellent and motivated dance instructor that takes you through the steps of dancing from the basic steps to an entire choreographed dance or whatever you want to get from it. He is easy to learn from and despite how many times you miss a step he’s always there to motivate and teach you. We will be back for future lessons just for a fun night out in the future!

My fiancé bought me a few lessons as a present in advance of our wedding. We quickly signed on to do more lessons in rapid succession and have been working with Shane every other day for the last few weeks. Shane is very professional and even has my fiancé dancing to the rhythm! He is also flexible and works with us to find times that are convenient (we live on the South Shore). We have so much fun at the lessons and Shane makes it really easy enjoy the time while still learning. I am very happy we found this place and cant wait until were gliding across the floor like naturals!

Shane and Pam are amazing! The studio has a great vibe—really spacious, fun, and calming. They emphasize social dancing for couples but both instructors have also danced competitively for years. After the dancing with the stars craze I decided to try dancing competitively and came to the studio a few months ago. Shane‘s reputation precedes him as a thorough and patient instructor, which has been my experience! Also, not a lesson goes by where we don’t laugh and have fun through the whole learning process!!

We have been going to Shall we Dance studio since January and really love it! Shane is a great teacher. Very funny but professional. His assistant Pam is fantastic! We have learned so much and enjoy our time at the studio. The monthly dances they host give you the opportunity to meet others and to practice your dance moves in a safe and fun environment. Shane breaks it down and demystifies the basics to create an easy-to-grasp foundation. He then uses that to build each style of dance into a muscle memory quickly. His staff, especially Pam, are patient and comfortably persistent in helping you see the steps and moves. Great for helping you get ready for an event. But you will want to progress because they make it so simple to understand and have fun doing.

Ive known Shane longer than Ive known he taught dance. I cant imagine a more patient instructor. He directs the action with subtlety and kindness, rather than the barked commands Ive experienced with others.The new studio must be seen. The lighting, the decor, the acoustics, and most importantly the room to move are great pluses.If youve ever wanted to learn to dance, modern or formal, classic to risque, this is a great place to do it. Private lessons assure you are ready and confident before anyone else sees you.

One of the greatest gifts my husband of 34 years has given me is private couples dance lessons at Shall We Dance Studio in Mandeville! Coming from basically no dance background, Shane was the most patient and professional instructor ever! I honestly don’t know how to begin to recommend this studio. For the record, I am a trained dancer and I have known Shane for over 20 years. I coerced my then fiancé to surprise our wedding guests (& ultimately ourselves) with a choreographed dance. There was no one else I knew or could trust to take on such a task: not only because of his graceful, seamless style of award-winning partner dancing (hello); but also because I knew that he would be able to ‘talk dance’ in 2 different languages: dancer & NON-dancer, male & female. Not only were we the best dancers at our wedding of course; but, the time we spent together training, bonded us closer as a couple. We had a lot of laughs & learned a lot of moves. Our special day is forever intertwined with our “shall we dance?” studio time. (That’s what we would say every time we pulled into the parking lot and got out of the car. True story.) It’s been 5 fun-filled years of wedding bliss now and may I also say, I am never alone on ANY dance floor. I’ve got my partner. Happy Dancing!

My husband and I have been taking private dance lessons here for 8 months with Shane and Pam. Weve had an absolute blast! In a short time we have learned the Swing, Cha-Cha, Fox Trot, Waltz, Rumba and Salsa well enough to dance in public and look good doing it! They also host fun events for their students like the Supper Clubs, a Dance Social once a month and going as a group to the Ritz Carlton in New Orleans (specifically the Davenport Lounge). I cant say enough good things about this experience! Weve had so much fun and its been a wonderful way for my spouse and I to connect with each other. If youre looking for something to do with a partner or solo, I would highly recommend it!
