Wonderful school. Great music program

We have had a wonderful experience at Loveland Classicals high school. Classroom sizes are smaller and the students really benefit from the individualized attention they receive because of this. The administration of the school is supportive to family, students, and teachers alike, a near impossible balance to maintain, yet somehow Ian Stout manages this with graciousness and respect. The students at the school are a great mix of different viewpoints, backgrounds, etc., so my student is able to hear an entire spectrum of opinions during classroom discussions (which is something often lacking in other more homogenous charter schools). LCS is also very welcoming and accommodating to students with 504s and IEPs, again something often lacking in charter schools--and also why I would argue that their test scores are lower than other charter schools; they actually work with kids that need student services instead of trying to phase them out. The teachers are one of the greatest gifts of this school. They love what they teach. You can tell this isnt just a job for them; its a calling. They treat the high school kids as adults and have a great mentoring relationship with most of them. Lastly, the amount of extra curricular activities here really help create more well-rounded students. For the size of the school, theres a great amount of activities for kids to be involved in. And since the school is a smaller size, students can be involved in many different activities, not just things they already specialize in. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone looking for a enriching, supportive, and challenging high school experience for their children.
